Ryuu and Daphne dropped a massive bag of magic stones onto the counter. The haul from the expedition totaled nearly 40 million Valis. It was a fortune that would make anyone envious, but no one dared move. The lobby went silent as Eina processed the report.
"Everyone... leveled up?!" Eina's shocked voice echoed through the hall.
"Yes," Roy said loudly enough for everyone to hear. "I'm Level 3, Daphne and Cassandra are Level 2, and 'Gale' Ryuu Lion is now Level 5—a First-Class adventurer!"
The silence was broken by a roar of disbelief. Gods literally jumped off their sofas. If they had leveled up, the story of the four-man subjugation of Amphisbaena was definitely true. It shattered every record: fewest participants, lowest average level...
The news spread like a wildfire. Orario was in shock. Some high-level adventurers even went into the Dungeon to verify the battle site. Though the Dungeon was repairing itself, the traces of the carnage were still visible.
Astraea Familia was the hottest topic in the city. Roy had broken the record for the fastest rise to Level 3. Ryuu had surpassed her rival, "Sword Princess" Ais Wallenstein (Level 4), to reach Level 5. Even Daphne and Cassandra, after a year and some change, were nearing the records set by the legends.
Gods swarmed Eina, trying to get details on their skills or magic, but she strictly refused. Her professional integrity was ironclad.
Meanwhile, the news spread beyond Orario to a certain fishing village. Two Amazon sisters had just cleared a local lake monster. Tiona pulled her sister's arm. "Tione, let's go to Orario!"
"Why so sudden?" Tione asked.
"I want to see this boy!" Tiona held up a newspaper with Roy's face on the front page. The fastest-rising adventurer in history, the rookie of Astraea Familia—"Justice's Sprout" Roy!
Tione sneered in disdain. "It's probably just a sham. Those males are weak as hell!"
It was no wonder they looked down on everyone else. Hailing from Telskyura, the Land of Struggle, they had spent their entire lives slaughtering one another without a single day of rest. Every level-up was forged in blood and fire, cruel and pitiless. In terms of raw combat experience and technique, they were stronger than even the veteran adventurers of Orario who haunted the Dungeon year-round!

Even for them, it had taken years to reach Level 3. Knowing the hardship and danger involved, Tione refused to believe that someone could jump to Level 2 in ten days and hit Level 3 in two or three months.
"Please, let's just go! Let's go!" After being nagged by Tiona for days, Tione finally relented with a sigh. However, her true intent was to find that pretty, "useless" boy and beat him to a pulp. The two of them boarded an ocean-going freighter, traveling as stowaways on their journey to Orario.
In a rural village in the far north, a white-haired boy with red eyes stared at a newspaper brought back by a neighbor. His eyes were filled with curiosity for the unknown world and a longing for adventure. The boy ran to his grandfather, who was plowing the fields. "Grandpa! I'm going to Orario to be an adventurer!"
"Hahaha!" Hearing his grandson's words, the old man with a snowy-white beard burst into laughter. His years of "teaching" had finally borne fruit. A man must seek encounters! A man must build a harem!
"What brought this on today?" the old man asked kindly, patting the boy's head.
The white-haired boy handed over the paper. The old man took one look and his lip twitched. A triple jump from Level 1 to Level 3 in four or five months? He had only been away from Orario for a few years; how did such a fierce little monster pop up?
The white-haired boy was vibrating with excitement. The old man stroked the boy's head, thinking to himself: Maybe I should fake my death and let the kid go out and see the world. But... while this boy was the sole survivor of the two strongest Familias, he was only ten years old.
The old man's eyes flickered with a decidedly "non-human" light.
In Orario, at Twilight Manor.
A girl as beautiful as a goddess, with delicate, doll-like features and a stoic expression, closed the newspaper. She picked up her long sword and walked toward the exit.
"Aiz-tan, where are you going?" Loki asked, instantly regretting bringing the newspaper home.
The blonde girl didn't answer.
Loki shouted frantically, "Mama-san! Quickly, follow Aiz-tan! She's going to go chop someone!"
"Who are you calling Mama-san...?" Riveria complained, but she followed anyway.
