Chapter 20 - Chapter 21

In the jungle, apart from seeing a powerful figure from the X-Men, Lu Yi saw no one else.

The master of illusions, Jason!

A super mutant controlled by Colonel Stryker, skilled in illusions, capable of affecting a person through five senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste—trapping the target in hallucinations with no escape.

In the storyline, Professor X was controlled and nearly killed all the X-Men.

His presence here, especially under the protection of a fully armed special forces unit, was definitely not without reason.

"In this situation, this is a perfect target to vent on!"

Whatever their reason for being here, since they're fully armed and guarding Jason, everything is clear.

"I totally didn't expect this…"

Boom!

It was as if a bomb exploded in Lu Yi's mind. A strange psychic wave surged into his head, attempting to break through his Occlumency defenses.

The impact of this psychic force was extremely powerful. If not for Occlumency, Lu Yi would have already fallen into hallucinations. There are many superpowered beings in the Marvel world, and to prevent himself from being suddenly subdued, Lu Yi, after inheriting Dumbledore's knowledge and memories, cast Occlumency on himself.

Now was the perfect time to use it!

"This is practically targeted at me. I don't know what will happen next!"

The smile on Lu Yi's face remained unchanged, but the killing intent in his eyes grew stronger. Standing beside him, one could even feel a chill—his killing intent was almost tangible.

Thinking of this, Lu Yi did not immediately strike but stood there quietly, waiting for their backup.

They had no idea they were being fooled!

"Captain, you were right! The target is under control!" A special forces soldier put down his binoculars excitedly.

"Don't let your guard down! The target is not ordinary. Confirm again!"

"Yes, sir!"

"Move forward!"

The soldier obediently ordered a few team members to take tactical positions and rapidly approach Lu Yi.

When they got close and saw Lu Yi's "dazed" eyes, they immediately relaxed and made a hand signal indicating safety.

Seeing this, the captain let out a sigh of relief!

"Sir! Objective complete!" He took out a satellite phone and dialed an encrypted number.

"Proceed as planned!"

An electronically synthesized voice spoke from the other end.

For confidentiality, there was no written plan, nor any record of who initiated the mission. The captain only knew that voice.

He'd received similar missions before and didn't think much about it.

After receiving the order, he signaled the others to push Jason forward and walked to where Lu Yi stood.

Soon, they were standing before Lu Yi.

"Lock him up!"

Seeing Lu Yi's "vacant" expression, the captain didn't hesitate to order four soldiers carrying a coffin-shaped box to come forward and seal Lu Yi inside.

This coffin-like box was not ordinary. It was reinforced with adamantium and nearly indestructible.

Their plan was to trap Lu Yi inside and capture him!

If they could study him, they would.

If not—then they would lock him away in the deep sea or some other place—out of sight forever.

The mastermind behind the plan favored the latter.

But to do that, there was one prerequisite—they had to successfully seal Lu Yi.

"So this is your plan?"

Lu Yi's eyes, once "vacant," now gleamed with clarity as he stared at them intently.

Now it was their turn to feel lost and confused. Things felt terribly wrong.

Where was the trust between people?

How does it feel to be controlled now?

Damn it, you idiot! Why didn't you say it earlier? Is tricking ordinary people that fun?

The entire special forces unit fell silent. No one dared to move, their eyes filled with fear as they looked at Lu Yi.

Before coming, they had thoroughly studied Lu Yi's information, imagining things would be different with Jason here—but they were wrong. Very wrong.

"I heard your conversation just now. Honestly, I admire your courage. Do you have anything to say?" Lu Yi asked calmly.

"Yes!" the special forces captain suddenly shouted.

"Oh? Is that so?"

"Fire!"

He roared the command, raising his rifle and unleashing a wild barrage.

The others followed, forcing themselves to forget their fear, aiming at Lu Yi and pulling the trigger frantically.

Bullets rained down on Lu Yi, especially targeting his eyes, hoping to break through his defense in this impossible way.

But bullets piled up on the ground, their hopes just illusions. Lu Yi didn't even blink, his eyes completely unharmed.

Seeing this, the captain calmly put down his rifle, pulled out a normal handgun, aimed at Lu Yi's eyes, and fired.

Bang!

Amid the chaotic gunfire, a distinct shot cracked through the night. A different kind of bullet flew out—fast and precise—straight toward Lu Yi.

Lu Yi instantly sensed something different. He reached out with two fingers like lightning, catching the bullet midair. He raised it to his face and examined it carefully.

"An adamantium slug? Wow, you really thought this through!"
