Chapter 26 - Chapter 28

Clang! Clang!

The shattered metal door fragments hit the metallic floor with crisp sounds. Yuriko, covered in blood, fell from the wall and landed atop the debris.

The previous impact had damaged Yuriko's tendons, causing her to temporarily lose control of her body.

But that didn't matter—such injuries were merely minor to her. Her extraordinary regenerative ability was more than enough to heal it. As soon as she fell onto the broken metal pieces, her powerful healing began to work. It was as if time magic surrounded her—shredded flesh stitched itself back together, and torn tendons reconnected. In just over twenty seconds, what should have been a fatal injury was completely healed.

If it weren't for her ragged, torn clothing hanging loosely and exposing much of her beauty, others would've thought she was never injured at all.

"Nice figure," Lu Yi whistled, then added, "And your recovery ability… not bad. You're almost as good as me!"

Lu Yi also possessed powerful regeneration, but unlike Yuriko—who gained hers through an X-gene mutation—his came from a biological enhancement. When an organism is injured, it heals through cellular metabolism.

Lu Yi's incredible regeneration came from greatly accelerating that process. Yes, it consumed a lot of energy—but compared to his internal energy reserves, it was negligible. He was practically unkillable.

In the entire Marvel universe, flesh-and-blood regeneration could only be compared to Yuriko, Wolverine, and Deadpool. But regeneration from elemental or rule-based evolution was on an entirely different level—beyond the realm of flesh.

That was why Lu Yi hadn't expected much from Yuriko."She looks good, heals fast, and has adamantium bones—not bad strength either. You can keep her."

Yuriko's reaction surprised Lu Yi. She extended more than 20-centimeter-long adamantium claws from both hands and leapt at him like a feral wildcat.

Not a good girl, are you?

Seeing this, a playful glint flashed in Lu Yi's eyes. He extended one hand like lightning, fingers curved like claws, and clamped tightly around Yuriko's pale neck.

Yuriko struggled desperately, kicking at Lu Yi's legs. Her adamantium claws struck his forearm—the one that was gripping her throat.

Clink! Clink! Clink! Clink…

Crisp metallic collision sounds echoed one after another—but tragically, Yuriko's claws couldn't even scratch Lu Yi.

Her kicks landed as though she was kicking steel—completely ineffective.

In other words, Yuriko was still under control—she didn't understand what true helplessness felt like. Otherwise, right now wouldn't be about resistance—it would be about despair.

"All of this is pointless. You're just too weak."

Lu Yi shook his head. Assessing Yuriko's current condition, he placed his free hand lightly on her forehead.

"Forget everything."

Lu Yi theatrically muttered an incantation as a white glow shot from his fingertips, striking Yuriko's smooth forehead. Her eyes instantly turned dull—the coldness and ruthlessness vanished—replaced by confusion and curiosity.

She looked like a newborn—untouched by the world, knowing nothing, curious about everything.

Just as Yuriko's mind wandered in ignorance and wonder, Lu Yi spoke.

"Well, you're probably wondering why you're here. It's because of me. I brought you to this world, and I gave you new life. I am your god, your master, your everything. From this moment forward, you must obey every command I give. Even if I order you to die—you must not disobey."

Lu Yi's voice carried an indescribable charisma. Under his voice, the curiosity and innocence in Yuriko's eyes gradually faded, replaced by fanaticism.

The louder Lu Yi spoke, the stronger that fanaticism became. By the time his voice ceased, Yuriko's eyes held nothing but madness—and Lu Yi.

Her wonder and ignorance were completely erased.

"My god, my lord—you are my everything. You gave me rebirth. Even if you ask me to die, I will never disobey you!" she said, pulling back her claws, ending her resistance, her expression firm—her gaze feverish.

It wasn't an exaggeration—if Lu Yi told her to kill herself right now, she would try her utmost to do so.

Yuriko was now Lu Yi's most loyal servant—willing to sacrifice everything, even her own life.

Why is brainwashing so powerful—capable of completely altering a person? Because it forcibly implants beliefs into one's mind—making them think it's right, and even feel happy about it.

But Lu Yi's method was far stronger. He didn't just implant beliefs—he erased all memories, turning her into a blank sheet of paper. And on that blank paper, he wrote whatever he wanted.

Whatever he defined her as—that is what she would be. Just like Yuriko now.

This was nothing like brainwashing. It was reinvention
