Shikime Natsu quickly found his class from the name on the notice board—Class 1-A.
There were four classes in total—A, B, C, and D. He was in Class A, the first letter of the alphabet. Didn't that prove he was outstanding?
Shikime Natsu let out a soft chuckle and silently praised himself. Of course, in a normal school, the letter of the class had nothing to do with the quality of its students.
Horikita Suzune and Kushida Kikyou were both in Class 1-D. This was a bit of a disappointment for Shikime Natsu. It was a shame they weren't in the same class; it would make collecting his CGs much harder.
Following the signs, Shikime Natsu soon arrived at his classroom. He found his seat based on a chart taped to the teacher's desk. A quick count revealed forty seats, including his own. With four classes, that meant this year's student body consisted of one hundred and sixty people.
Not too many.
Shikime Natsu took his seat, and his gaze naturally fell upon his deskmate. She was a girl with long, straight hair that had a faint violet sheen. Her figure was very slender, making the school uniform look slightly loose on her and giving off an air of lazy indifference.
At that moment, she wasn't chatting with the other students who had already arrived, nor was she looking at the school introduction pamphlet on her desk. Instead, she was just resting her chin on one hand, staring out the window with a bored expression. When she heard the sound of Shikime Natsu pulling out his chair, she turned her gaze toward him. Noticing he was looking at her, her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly.
"What are you looking at me for?"
Her crisp voice carried a hint of impatience, an emotion mirrored in her purple eyes.
"My name is Shikime Natsu. What's yours?"
Shikime Natsu refrained from blurting out a flippant line like, "Because you're cute." After all, they were deskmates. Surely there was nothing wrong with taking an extra glance, right?
"...."
"Kamuro Masumi."
The girl was silent for a moment before she slowly stated her name.
"If there's nothing else, don't bother me."
With that, she turned her gaze back to the window.
Another girl who didn't seem easy to get along with. However, Shikime Natsu had to admit, the quality of the girls in this school was truly high.
There was the ice queen from the bus (whose mental state was a bit concerning), Horikita Suzune; the lively angel, Kushida Kikyou; and now the girl next to him who seemed like a wildcat-type beauty, Kamuro Masumi. Not far away, there was also a petite, silver-haired girl leaning on a cane, who probably fit the frail beauty archetype.
There was also a strange, beautiful girl folding origami with the school-issued handbook. She had long purple hair adorned with two diamond-shaped hair clips. The long strands falling in front of her were tied at the sides with two hairbands, giving her a very android-like vibe.

After a brief survey, he confirmed that there were indeed many beautiful girls in this school. Just then, Shikime Natsu suddenly realized something.
He and Kamuro Masumi had just made eye contact, so why hadn't his cheat ability triggered?

"I am the homeroom teacher for Class A, Mashima Tomoya. I teach English. At this school, classes are not reassigned each year, so for the next three years until graduation, I will be your advisor. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"The entrance ceremony will be held in the gymnasium in one hour. The materials on your desks were also sent to you before enrollment. Now, I will give you another brief explanation."
"This school has a special rule: it's a boarding school. During your time here, you are restricted from leaving campus and from all contact with the outside world. However, the school has a variety of facilities to meet all your needs. You can buy daily necessities, and there are also recreational facilities."
"It should be noted that to buy anything, you will need to use the points in your mobile phones. Anything in this school can be purchased with points."
"Points are automatically transferred on the first of every month. Right now, each of you should have been allocated an equal one hundred thousand points. One point is equivalent to one yen."

"Are there any other questions?"
Mashima Tomoya's gaze swept across the classroom. Almost everyone was still immersed in their joy. After all, a hundred thousand yen a month was an incredible amount for a high school student.
"Yes. Are we given one hundred thousand points on the first of every month?"
Shikime Natsu directly voiced the doubt in his mind. This concerned his money, so he couldn't afford to be careless.
His words reached the ears of the other students, and they quickly turned their attention to Mashima Tomoya as well.
Hearing Shikime Natsu's voice, a flash of surprise crossed Mashima Tomoya's eyes, and he looked at Shikime Natsu with a somewhat appreciative gaze.
He had only just finished speaking, and this student had already noticed something?
How interesting. It seemed this year's Class A would be more outstanding than he had imagined.
"I cannot say."
Mashima Tomoya spoke, and that simple sentence fell like a stone into a calm lake.
Even though he didn't elaborate, the meaning behind his words was perfectly clear.
"What? So we don't get a hundred thousand yen every month?"
"Sigh... I knew it. Getting one hundred thousand yen couldn't be that simple."
Still, to have noticed that was pretty amazing. Many students cast admiring glances at Shikime Natsu.
"How did you figure it out?"
Even Kamuro Masumi, who had initially ignored him, was now looking at Shikime Natsu with curiosity.
"It's simple. In his initial explanation, Mashima-sensei only said that points are transferred on the first of the month. He never said it would be one hundred thousand yen every month. He was playing with words. Besides, if you think about it for a moment, you'd know a school couldn't possibly spend that much money to subsidize its students, right?"
"And besides, if we got one hundred thousand points every month, I doubt everyone would study seriously. Is the school just buying its one hundred percent employment and university advancement rates?"
