Chapter 4 - Two Million to Buy the Answer? I Disagree

Shikime Natsu's words were quite direct, and the meaning he wanted to convey was obvious: the school's goal was definitely not to raise a bunch of useless people.

"Ara, what an interesting way to put it."

A slight curve formed at the corner of the silver-haired beauty's mouth, her purple eyes filled with interest. It seemed this school wouldn't be too boring for her after all; there was at least one person who could help pass the time.

Upon hearing this, Kamuro Masumi froze for a moment. It was something so obvious, yet she hadn't thought of it.

"I understand."

After nodding, Kamuro Masumi looked away. A faint blush crept onto her delicate face; clearly, she was a little embarrassed for not having realized something so simple.

"Besides this, are there any other questions you'd like to ask?"

Mashima Tomoya's voice echoed in the classroom once more as he recalled Shikime Natsu's evaluation report.

[Name: Shikime Natsu]

[Student ID: SOITXXXXXX]

[Academics: A-]

[Intelligence: A-]

[Judgment: A]

[Physical Ability: B+]

[Cooperativeness: B+]

Shikime Natsu's overall evaluation was quite outstanding among the entirety of Class 1-A, surpassing even the chairman's daughter. Of course, that was due to Sakayanagi Arisu's poor physical condition and... her being a bit too arrogant, which resulted in weaker cooperative skills.

So... the leader of Class A should be Shikime Natsu. Mashima Tomoya quickly made a judgment in his mind. Of course, whether Shikime Natsu could actually become the leader of Class A would depend on his own abilities.

This was a good chance to see for himself if Shikime Natsu had the talent to carry all of Class A on his back!

"Mashima-sensei, what influences the number of points we receive each month?"

A bald student asked the question that was on everyone's mind—how to maintain their one hundred thousand yen a month lifestyle.

It's hard to go from extravagance to frugality. It would have been one thing if they hadn't been given the hundred thousand yen in the first place, but now that they had it, it would be difficult for them to give it up.

"I cannot answer that question either."

Mashima Tomoya shook his head.

"Can't answer this, can't answer that..."

Although Kamuro Masumi's voice was quiet, Shikime Natsu easily caught her complaint.

"Something like this will be revealed sooner or later. In any case, we just need to fulfill our duties as students. Isn't that right, Mashima-sensei?"

Shikime Natsu's voice once again rang out in the classroom.

Hearing Shikime Natsu's words, a look of deep surprise flashed in Mashima Tomoya's eyes. It seemed Shikime Natsu was even more outstanding than he had thought.

The rest of the class noticed Mashima Tomoya's expression. Although he didn't nod in agreement, his face said it all, especially for someone who had been so stern when he first walked in.

Naturally, no one who made it into Class A was a fool. They figured this must be a test from the school.

But... would simply doing that be enough to secure their monthly points?

Although many doubts remained in their minds, Shikime Natsu had told them that as long as they properly fulfilled their duties as students, there would be no problem.

"Any other questions?"

Mashima Tomoya's gaze remained fixed on Shikime Natsu.

"Mashima-sensei just said that anything in the school can be purchased. In that case... can the answers to the questions you were unwilling to answer also be purchased?"

Shikime Natsu continued to look at Mashima Tomoya with a smile. Cowering in the back with ideas but afraid to ask questions was not the image he wanted to project. He was aiming for a full CG collection, so... he naturally had to showcase himself fully.

Simply relying on being nice wasn't going to be enough to get all the CGs.

"Of course you can, as long as you have enough personal points."

Mashima Tomoya looked at Shikime Natsu with some surprise. This year's Class A was solid!

The answer Mashima Tomoya gave left the students of Class A stunned. Even answers could be bought directly?

These points were far more useful than they had imagined.

"Alright, I have no more questions."

Shikime Natsu nodded slightly, not raising any more issues.

Even though Shikime Natsu had stopped speaking, everyone's gaze couldn't help but remain on him.

"Mashima-sensei, I'd like to ask, how many personal points would that answer cost?"

The bald student stood up and asked with a serious tone.

"Two million personal points."

Mashima Tomoya's gaze fell on the bald student's face. This was another one he had his eye on as a potential class leader, Katsuragi Kouhei.

Two million personal points. In other words, to buy this answer, every student in the class would have to chip in fifty thousand personal points. For students who had just received one hundred thousand, this was a considerable price.

Katsuragi Kouhei closed his eyes, seemingly deep in thought, before slowly uttering a sentence: "I think we should buy this answer."

"We might be able to secure a monthly income of one hundred thousand points, or even... exceed one hundred thousand points."

His words were very tempting. At least, most of the class was swayed. Spending fifty thousand points once in exchange for a guaranteed hundred thousand every month in the future was a deal that couldn't lose.

Mashima Tomoya's gaze fell on Sakayanagi Arisu and Shikime Natsu. This class seemed to be in a delicate balance. In his eyes, there were three people capable of leading Class A forward.

Now that one of them had stated his opinion, the thoughts of the other two were still unknown.

"That is indeed a good decision. And... after buying it, we can also trade it with the other classes."

Sakayanagi Arisu spoke slowly, her face full of calm confidence. She was sure her statement would sway many in the class. If they really managed to sell the information, it would be a zero-cost profit.

Just as she thought, her proposal sparked the desire to buy the answer from Mashima Tomoya in many students' hearts.

"So... have you decided to spend two million points to buy the answer from me?"

Seeing that Shikime Natsu hadn't spoken, Mashima Tomoya glanced around the room to confirm everyone's thoughts.

In his view, the fact that Class A had grasped a part of this school's rules in such a short time and had already considered using the 'points can buy anything' rule to this extent was quite satisfactory.

This was the most outstanding Class A he had ever taught.

"No, I object."

A sudden voice rang out, sounding completely out of place among the students who had already decided to buy the points.

Kamuro Masumi looked at Shikime Natsu, her eyes filled with confusion. If they went along with Katsuragi Kouhei's and Sakayanagi Arisu's plan, what Class A stood to gain would far outweigh the cost.

Why would he object?

This was what the rest of Class A was thinking as well. Even Katsuragi Kouhei and Sakayanagi Arisu turned their gazes to Shikime Natsu. The former was perplexed, while the latter was expectant, looking forward to what kind of surprising answer this guy would give.
