[ Location: Hogwarts - Empty Classroom ][ Date: November 16th, 1993 - Tuesday Evening ]
"Expecto Patronum!" Harry yelled, waving his wand.
A pathetic puff of silver smoke popped out and vanished.
Harry had begged Lupin to start these lessons months early.
After the Dementors swarmed the Quidditch match this weekend, Harry was terrified.
Across the room, a Boggart disguised as a Dementor glided forward and the room froze. Harry stumbled backward, pale and shaking.
"Riddikulus!" Professor Lupin shouted, jumping in front of Harry.
With a loud crack, the fake Dementor turned into a silver orb and was sucked back into a heavy wooden crate.
Lupin slammed the lid shut.
"You're trying too hard, Harry," Lupin sighed. "A Patronus isn't a weapon. It's a shield made of pure happiness and riding a broomstick just isn't a strong enough memory."
I leaned against the classroom door, slow-clapping.
"Very dramatic," I said, walking in with Shikamaru behind me.
Lupin jumped.
Harry looked up from the floor, panting.
"Vivan?" Lupin frowned. "This is a private lesson."
"Which is pointless," I said. "The Ministry already recalled all the Dementors and hogwarts is ghost-free."
"The Ministry is unpredictable," Lupin argued. "They might send new guards and that's why I had to catch a brand-new Boggart in the dungeons for this lesson, since you completely destroyed the last one."
"Since Harry's ghost problem is handled," I smirked, looking at Lupin. "He doesn't need this lesson today but I do."
My future self had warned me.
My soul was getting too dark from absorbing all those dark monsters in my dimension and also pennywise.
I needed pure "Light" to balance it out before I turned into an edgy space demon and the Patronus Charm was exactly one of the spell what I needed.
Lupin looked at me like I was crazy.
"Vivan, the Patronus Charm is incredibly advanced," Lupin said patiently. "Most grown wizards can't do it and given your... unique magic, I doubt you have the emotional baseline required."
Basically, Lupin thought I was a psycho who didn't know how to be happy.
"Professor," I smirked, pulling my wand. "I just cleared an innocent man's name, solved a twelve-year-old murder, and forced the government to pay me ten thousand gold coins. I'm rich, I'm powerful, and I'm having the best week of my life, So please open the box."
Lupin hesitated.
"Open it, Remus," I ordered.
I let my heavy aura drop the temperature in the room.
Lupin swallowed hard.
He flicked his wand at the crate.
The latch popped.
Frost crept across the stone floor.
The Boggart-Dementor rose out of the box, letting out a rattling breath.
It completely ignored Harry and locked onto me.
It sensed my massive power , emotions and wanted to eat it.
"Alright," I whispered, gripping my wand. "A happy memory."
I thought about the white void and about meeting my future god-self.
I thought about the sheer thrill of my own power, knowing I was a living god anchoring the multiverse.
I felt completely unstoppable.
'Perfect.'
I pointed my wand right at the fake Dementor.
"Expecto Patronum," I said calmly.
BOOM.
The sound was like thunder inside a tin can.
A beam of blinding, burning white fire erupted from my wand.
It was a holy flashbang.
"MY EYES!" Shikamaru yelled, diving behind a desk.
Harry and Lupin were thrown backward against the wall by the shockwave.
The light took shape.
It was ten feet tall, brushing the ceiling and it didn't have a face or arms.
It was just a massive, terrifying angel made of six wings of solid white fire.
A Seraphim.
My Patronus spread its wings.
The freezing cold vanished, replaced by a deep, comforting summer heat.
The Boggart didn't even have time to scream.
The holy light hit the dark creature and literally vaporized it and it was erased from existence, leaving only a puff of clean smoke.
The angel hovered for three seconds, lighting up the entire room, before bursting into warm golden sparks.
The classroom was dead silent.
I let out a long breath.
The dark, heavy feeling in my chest vanished a little bit.
[ System Alert: Soul Balance Achieved ][ Threat of Demonic Mutation: low ]
'It worked,' I grinned, putting my wand away.
Lupin was sitting on the floor, his mouth hanging open. "You... you destroyed it again" he whispered in terror. "You burned it out of existence with sheer force."
"I guess my happiness is just built different," I shrugged.
Harry blinked rapidly, seeing white spots. "Vivan... what animal was that?!"
"An angel, Harry," I said.
Shikamaru peeked out from behind the desk, rubbing his eyes. "That wasn't an angel, I think that was a localized sun and give me a warning next time you drop a fire style indoors, Vivan."
"My bad," I chuckled.
I felt lighter and faster.
I walked to the door. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor and Don't worry I'll give you a great review."
[ Location: Gryffindor Common Room ][ Time: 10:00 PM ]
The common room was buzzing with wild gossip.
I sat in an armchair by the fire, reading the Daily Prophet.
Fudge had pushed the pardon through in just two days out of sheer panic to save his own job.
The headline was massive:
MINISTRY BLUNDER! SIRIUS BLACK INNOCENT! PETER PETTIGREW ALIVE!
"I can't believe it," Hermione said, reading over my shoulder. "Scabbers was a grown man hiding as a rat."
"Don't," Ron moaned from the rug.
He was wrapped in a blanket, looking deeply traumatized. "He slept on my pillow for three years!"
"Look on the bright side, Ron," I smirked. "At least he kept your feet warm."
"I'm going to be sick," Ron gagged. "I fed him off my plate and he watched me change my clothes!"
"Okay, yeah, that part is actually really gross," I admitted.
I reached into my pocket, pulled out five heavy gold Galleons, and tossed them at Ron.
They bounced off his head and landed in his lap.
Ron stared at the gold coins, instantly forgetting his trauma. "Five whole Galleons? Really?"
"Buy a new pet," I ordered. "Get an owl, At least owls just poop on your letters; they don't sell your family to dark lords."
"Thanks, Vivan!" Ron grinned, shoving the gold in his pocket.
I looked over at Harry.
He was staring blankly into the fire, trying to process that the mass murderer everyone feared was actually his innocent godfather.
"Sirius is a free man, Harry," I said loudly, tossing the newspaper into the fire.
Harry looked up.
"Which means," I continued, "he is legally your guardian now and you don't have to go back to the Dursleys this summer and you can live with him."
Harry's eyes went wide. "I... I can leave Privet Drive? Forever?"
"Pack your bags, mate," I winked.
I leaned back in my armchair.
Dumbledore wanted Harry at the Dursleys for the ancient blood protections but with Sirius cleared, Harry now had a legal, fiercely protective godfather and Dumbledore couldn't force Harry to stay in that abusive house anymore.
I had just thrown a massive wrench into the Headmaster's grand plans.
It was time to get ready for the real threats.
