Reed's POV
When Romano heard Jenifer demanding money from Eliza, he felt convinced she only viewed him as a paycheck.
The guilt that had been eating at him vanished instantly, and now he was certain Jenifer was just causing drama for no good reason.
I stepped out of the restroom and noticed a crowd gathered together.
Moving closer, I saw Jenifer and Eliza locked in an argument. I caught fragments of their bitter exchange and leaned toward Lorelei, quietly asking what was going on.
Lorelei spotted me and immediately launched into her story, dramatically inflating the part about Jenifer demanding money and making it sound far worse than the reality.
When I glanced over at Jenifer perched in that chair with people hovering around her like attendants to a queen, I couldn't detect any trace of injury.
It was clear to me she was putting on a performance to torture Romano.
I thought Jenifer had crossed every line.
