The deadline for Morgan's competition proposals was approaching fast.
That morning, I drove myself to the Fred Group headquarters.
I didn't head inside. Instead, I stayed in my car, like I was waiting for something.
Ralph looked puzzled. "Mr. Gould, shouldn't we go up?"
I shot him one cold look without bothering to respond.
The moment Ralph caught my frigid stare, he shut his mouth completely.
Minutes later, Jenifer arrived outside the Fred Group building in Grace's vehicle.
Elise assisted Jenifer into her wheelchair.
"Jenifer, I'll stay down here. Just call when you're done, and I'll get you," Grace said, stepping out from the driver's seat.
Jenifer dismissed her with a wave. "Thanks, Grace, but I need to stop by the office afterward, so don't worry about it. If you have other things to handle, go ahead."
