Every time Stewart considered how Lorelei had thrown away such an ideal husband for some broke nobody, he practically wanted to crack open her skull and examine what was going through her mind.
"Dad, are you telling me that if I marry Reed and he bails out the Keller Group, you'll finally give me permission to be with him?" Lorelei pressed.
Stewart gazed at Lorelei, completely dumbfounded. 'Did she seriously miss every single thing I just told her?' he wondered, his frustration mounting.
The longer he thought about it, the more irritated he grew. Recognizing that his words weren't penetrating, Stewart responded icily, "If you can pull that off, then I'll give my consent."
"Fine." Lorelei gave a sharp nod, spun around, and walked out without a backward glance.
As he watched her disappear, Stewart was so furious he hurled his phone across the room.
Once back in her bedroom, Lorelei grabbed her phone and called the contact marked Sweetheart.
