Lilian's POV
While lan was chattering away, I suddenly remembered him mentioning something about renting an apartment earlier. I lowered the magazine in my hands. "lan, you still have that apartment you rented, don't you?"
His eyes widened in surprise before he gave a quick nod. "Yeah, I do. Why are you asking?"
"Has the lease expired yet? I was wondering if..." I let my voice trail off.
"No, it's still active. Do you need to use it?" lan responded immediately, his cheerful expression shifting to concern.
"Lilian, what's happening? You're staying with Augusto, aren't you?" His voice dropped to a worried whisper. "Hold on... Is he throwing you out?"
Hearing Augusto's name sent a familiar ache through my chest, but I forced a cheerful smile for my brother's sake. "No, that's not it. He's not kicking me out. It's just... we're divorced now, you know? Continuing to live in his house feels strange. Now that I have a job, I want to find my own place and become independent."
