Lilian's POV
I caught sight of Augusto through the car window as we pulled away from the bar. His jaw was tight, and his hands gripped the steering wheel like he wanted to break it in half.
Strange. Hadn't he left earlier with Ashley?
From the thunderous expression on his face, something had clearly gone wrong between them. My stomach twisted at the thought.
Antonio flashed me that trademark grin of his. "Hey Lilian, looks like Augusto wants you to ride with him instead. Want me to pull over?"
I glanced back at Alesha, who was passed out cold against the window, then shook my head firmly. "No, I'm staying with you."
"Interesting choice." Antonio's smile turned knowing. "Alright then, buckle up."
As I settled into the passenger seat, Augusto began laying on his horn like a man possessed. The sound cut through the night air, sharp and demanding. I winced and turned to Antonio. "What's his problem?"
