Chapter 3 - Chapter 003: Spatial Ability + Skill Optimization! Luffy x Nami!

In Luffy's mind, a lottery box appeared.

A list beside it clearly showed the possible rewards:

Items (White), Creatures (Black), Skills (Red), Attributes (Blue), Special Abilities (Purple)—

five categories in total.

Very soon, as the lottery box shook on its own, a red sphere flew out.

A skill!

Just as the glowing screen in his mind faded, Luffy's long-lost "slot-machine visions" burst through his memory again. He saw countless overlapping scenes—himself using an ability as if he'd been born with it, calling upon it effortlessly.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining a spatial ability: Hundred-Meter Teleportation!]

(0v′0?)=?))

Luffy's eyes lit up.

Hundred-meter teleportation?

Sounds insanely powerful.

He opened the description.

[Hundred-Meter Teleportation (Upgradeable Range): Move freely within 100 meters, ignoring obstacles. Origin: Dragon Ball's Instant Transmission!]

[Skill Optimization: No stamina cost; no mental energy cost… unlimited teleportation allowed.]

"!!!"

After reading the description, Luffy loved it immediately.

Hundred-meter teleportation—optimized, no less!

"Unlimited teleportation…"

Did he even need to say what that meant?

If he couldn't win a fight, he could harass endlessly or escape nonstop. Was that broken or what?

Just this one skill alone massively boosted his combat power—and his survival ability skyrocketed several times over.

Even if someone with Observation Haki could sense him, so what?

By the time they predicted his next position, Luffy could've already hopped several spots ahead; they'd never keep up!

And as long as Luffy's attack power was high enough, he could one-shot someone in an instant.

Blink—head gone. Terrifying, right?

With the first draw complete, Luffy finally tasted the sweetness of this system, and his eyes gleamed as he looked at Nami.

"Come on, get on the boat with me!"

"…Okay."

Luffy's intense gaze sent a shiver down Nami's spine, and she quickly climbed aboard.

She was young—she couldn't die here!

And Arlong was still alive. Cocoyasi Village hadn't been freed yet. She still had so many dreams left unfinished.

[Female crew member detected +1. Binding crew member: Nami.

Host, please move her emotionally.]

There were many ways to move someone emotionally, but the one that let him benefit the most?

The battle at Cocoyasi Village.

Back when he watched the anime, he always felt that Luffy × Nami should've been canon and tied together.

Never thought he'd end up becoming Luffy himself.

"You're pretty obedient, huh."

The two squeezed together in a small rowboat, so close their shoulders touched.

Luffy, unusually gentle for once, suddenly spoke softly: "Hey, Nami… be my crewmate. A real, official invitation. I'll protect you. Always."

Thump thump!

Seeing Luffy suddenly become serious, Nami's heart skipped a few beats before she forced herself to steady it.

"…Alright."

She agreed on the surface, but in her mind she cursed him from head to toe:

Who cares if you're handsome! Protect me? I don't need your protection, you stupid devil!

Fortunately, Luffy couldn't hear her inner thoughts.

If he knew what she was thinking, he might've thrown her into the sea just to let her drink some salt water.

Did she think he opened his heart to just anyone?

"So, Captain… where are we headed?"

"The East Blue Navy Branch. You row."

"Huh? You want me to row? You idiot—"

"You wanna keep calling me that?"

"..."

Sailing on the open sea was nothing like the anime portrayed. It was boring.

Especially for Luffy, who had somehow become the rower—endlessly listening to Nami bark orders from behind.

"Hey! You dumb rubber idiot! Where are you rowing? You're going the wrong way!"

"Are you stupid? If you row any harder, you'll snap the oar!"

"You can't even row a boat—how did you dare become a pirate? Unbelievable!"

"…"

Nami lasted barely half an hour before shedding her polite façade entirely, unleashing full Arlong-level rage at Luffy.

His eyelid twitched.

Damn it.

Was she begging to be disciplined?

Just as he glared back, Nami instantly shut up, glancing away awkwardly and whistling as if watching his reaction from the corner of her eye.

What a sneaky little cat burglar.

"So there's really no other way to make this boat move?" Luffy stopped rowing. Even if he wasn't tired, rowing was unbelievably boring.

Nami huffed, arms crossed. "What other way? You should've stolen that fat pirate's ship earlier! Now this tiny boat can only be rowed!"

"Gum-Gum—"

Luffy thought for a moment, then suddenly stood up.

Nami flinched in fear and scooted back. "H-Hey! What are you doing? You said I'm your crewmate—you can't kill me!"

Luffy ignored her.

He dropped forward, plunging both hands into the sea.

"Propeller!" he shouted—and began spinning them.

Not being weakened by seawater was really great. Devil Fruit user or not, he didn't care.

Instantly, the boat shot forward at insane speed. All he needed to do now was adjust direction.

"…"

Nami was stunned.

This… this was actually possible?!

But she still muttered, "You can't keep that up forever. The East Blue branch is far—you can't keep spinning like that the whole way."

"I'll rest when I'm tired."

Playing in the water while glancing back, Luffy said, "Since you already admitted you're my crewmate, let's introduce ourselves properly."

"You first."
