Luffy blurted out instinctively, then instantly corrected himself.

Why throw away his biggest advantage just to sound modest?

As for his real name… in the pirate world it was useless anyway.
"Monkey D. Luffy… never heard of you. You a pirate too?"
As she spoke, Alvida looked around and confirmed he was alone.
Her mouth grinned wide.
"So it's just you? I thought another pirate crew had arrived. Listen up, brat — get off my ship while you still can, or I'll kill you."
"Get off? Fine, fine. If you insist on being rude, don't blame me for what happens next. Die, you disgusting pig — I'm gonna gut you!"
The moment the words dropped, everyone was stunned.
In a corner of the ship, a blonde girl's eyes went huge.
The surrounding pirates opened their mouths so wide they almost hit the deck.
"H-He actually insulted Lady Alvida!?"
"He must be tired of living!"
"Get away from him! Lady Alvida's gonna kill him!"
The pirates scattered in panic, keeping as much distance from Luffy as possible.
Alvida shook with fury, her cheeks trembling.
"You… are… DEAD!!"
She didn't hesitate — her huge body launched into the air, swinging the massive club down toward Luffy.
Luffy didn't flinch. An overwhelming aura exploded from him.
In an instant, wind howled and the very air shook!
Hmm… knocking everyone out with Conqueror's Haki wouldn't look cool enough.
Fine — Intermediate Armament Haki. Coat!
BOOM!
One punch.
Alvida flew backward like a rag doll — blood spraying through the air.
That punch nearly tore her body apart.
"How can—"

She crashed into the ocean, unconscious — fate unknown.
"That's it?"
Luffy looked disappointed.
He thought she'd at least put up a decent fight.
Sure enough — in the East Blue, Armament Haki against small-time pirates was absolute overkill.
The pirates stared in shock.
"H-He sent the captain flying with one punch!? That guy's a monster — RUN!"
They abandoned the loot instantly, scrambling onto another ship and escaping with everything they had.
In under thirty seconds, dozens of pirates were gone — disappeared over the horizon.
People really could move when scared for their lives.
"You just gonna stand there and wait to die?" Luffy glanced coldly at Koby.
He wasn't like the original Luffy who befriended someone dreaming of becoming a Navy admiral.
Their beliefs were polar opposites — plus this guy was a professional coward. Luffy had no respect for him.
"D-Don't kill me! I'll leave right now!"
Koby ran crying, snatching a rowboat from the merchant ship and paddling away as fast as possible.
Luffy: "…"
Maybe letting him go really didn't matter to him at all.
Just as he was thinking that, Luffy suddenly turned around sharply.
He grinned — then shot forward like a cannon shell, landing right in front of a blonde girl.
"Kya!!"
The girl screamed, nearly fainting.
She froze for two seconds, then hugged her bag of valuables to her chest as Luffy grabbed her shoulders.
"Everyone else could run — but you can't."
Nami was stunned.
Rocket-boost sprint?
What kind of monster was this guy!?
"I've been watching you since earlier. Sneaking around… You're a thief, right?" Luffy smiled brilliantly.
Nami forced a flattering smile, eyes sparkling with fake sweetness.
Her voice turned soft and cute.
"Sir, I'm just a little thief — I'm harmless! Please don't kill me…"
She even leaned in and displayed her figure — trying to pull a seduction play.
"Then here's your choice."
Luffy's smile widened. At the same time, he discreetly coated his little brother with Armament Haki — in case she tried a sudden kick.
"Become my crewmate… or die. Pick one."
Is that even a choice!?
Nami was mentally screaming.
But Luffy's fist was absolute — refusal wasn't an option.
She nodded frantically like a pecking chick.
"O-Okay, I'll join your crew! Just… you can't go back on your word…"
Luffy nodded — then froze.
Not because something happened around him — but because a voice inside his head chimed:
