As the three continue to walking through the Caverns and with all the crystals surrounding them, they all feel a bit of an unsettled sensation of their surroundings.
"Hey Max, how's your sight" Rayn asked
"It's getting better now. I'm experiencing many multiple perspectives of any crystals"
"I guess large crystal really helps you there Max"
"Yeah you're probably right." Suddenly Max was in his thoughts "I still wondered why that crystal Carm gave me telling me I cannot use." he think to himself.
"Hey Carm can you give me another one" Carmlien passes Max another piece of amethyst "thanks" Max takes a look at the amethyst again. But he heard the voice again, This crystal is a fake, do not use. Max quickly listen to the voice and drops the amethyst, though the others were then confused.
"Hey Max what's going on why didn't you used the amethyst"
"Sorry, but there was something in from my arm telling me not to use"
"It can do that?"
"Best not to worry shall we continue" Carmlien intervene into their conversation.
"your probably right Carm. But Max if you use the power of a crystal, how long does the effects last for" Rayn being curious
"Not sure haven't tested that yet"
"Perhaps when we get back to Kysterria. We could do some test"
"Yeah Rayn, we can do that".
Through the caverns hallways are long and since they are more in the deeper areas in the Crystal Caverns they take their time as still they are walking through many crystals along the way minutes have gone by and they are still walking through an endless hallways of crystals. More minutes has gone by and the three took a break after walking that would feel an eternity.
"Hey Carm, do have a map of some sort. It feels like we've been walking for a while"
"Sure let's get it out" Carmlien then goes through her bag and pulls out a notebook, flipping through her notebook it shows a sketch the inside of the whole caverns.
"It seem we're in the southeast deeper in the caverns"
"We when that deep?!" As Max was observing the map sketched by Carmlien he tried to touch Carmlien's sketch book, but his arm flickered brightly. As he quickly retracts his body away from her sketch book. Suddenly Rayn began to feel something suspicious.
"Okay what is going on... Wait then how did you get here Carmlien" Rayn glaring at Carmlien
"I'm afraid I do not understand?"
"When we were teleported to the crystal cavern unwillingly by the brothers, almost no one was around, not even a single boat was here. And into the crystal caverns Max's arm kept flickering brightly, which was stated that it can sense danger"
"Rayn what are you trying to say?"
"All I'm saying is, are you really Carmlien"
"Rayn that's just speculating"
"Is it? How is that when Carmlien mentions Sarah and Lensfer here at the crystal caverns. Sarah was already at a friend's place as I would know cause I saw her this morning visiting Angelica, and Meryl's place. Also Carm did really mention that she adventured here but never this deep into the Caverns before cause she never had access to begin with only getting crystals through shipping." Carmlien tries to stop Rayn from speaking, but he keeps going. "Or when I was taking care of the Auro-amity her attention was then driven towards you, and we would know this as I saw Max dropped the amethyest, do you have something to say about that!".
As Rayn quickly moved towards her, he was suddenly then grabbed by the neck and slowly being lifted into the air.
"Carmlien! What are you doing!" Max grabs a hold of Carmlien's arm and suddenly sees his crystal arm flicking again.
"oh no... sorry Carm" know that danger is near and with no hesitation Max quickly turns his arm into a blade and hacks off Carmlien's arm. As Rayn drops to the ground scrounging for air Max witness something with in Carmlien's arm. Pieces of crystals started to drop from Carmlien's arm.
"You're not Carmlien"
"Ugh, you wretched human scum I was so close!" They hear Carmlien's voice but more distorted from something claims to be Carmlien.
"Rayn quick get behind me!" Rayn quick gets behind Max as he with still holding his blade towards the creature.
"What have you done to Carmlien"
"That human tried to put up a fight. But I only needed the information to know where you are"
"If you hurt her I swear I'll show you another world of pain"
"Max wait look at her arm, it has the same colour as yours." Rayn pointing towards the clear white crystal the same as Max's arm. "Could it be that's the same crystals being that attacked us yesterday".
Soon fear then emits to them both "well as the humans refer to. Cats out of the bag..." then suddenly with a lift from her arm and fires crystals shards towards Max and Rayn.
"Watch out!" Quickly Max moves along with Rayn as he forms a shield and protects them both "and here's the coward using a shield. Pity this is the last weapon you would form"
Then suddenly as jolt of movements happened and Max could even reacted in time as he was then flung back a few distance away from Rayn "Max!" Rayn tried to aid his friend but he was then punched and knocked almost to the ground.
"Impressive. To think one punch would be enough, like how it only took one the reddish orange coloured haired one from before. Perhaps it would take more than a few more would suffice" as the crystal being pretending to be Carmlien, was about to unleash a barrage of punches at Rayn.
She was suddenly hit with a big crystal ball, quickly she grabs her attention onto whose her attacker, and it was Max who suddenly form a cannon blaster from his arm, still hurt from the previous attack "you better stay away from him"
"Grr... you insignificant little brat I'll make you pay for that"
Then she that moved with a jolt of movement once again. But Max is prepared for the next attack as he holds a piece of pyrite in his hand, as he crushed it, his strength is increased, standing his ground they soon made contact. Hands locked together as they are into a stand still, the crystal being attempting to push forward with force, but thanks to the pyrite Max used, he then slam her towards the wall with all his might then for good measure unleashed a massive stomp crushing her face that used to take resemblance of Carmlien's face is shattered to pieces of crystals. Max gasping for air then runs towards his friend Rayn.
"Hopefully Carm is still alive" then picks up his friends as they both begin to run.
"Rayn hold on we'll make it through this". Running for their lives and trying to find the nearest exit out of the crystal caverns.
"Dang it how did we had an easier time exploring the caverns the first time we visit" suddenly Rayn looked behind him.
"Max watch out!" Rayn quickly pushes Max away from him, as a jolt of movement moved passed them "oh you got to be kidding me" as the both witness the crystal being without a head is slowly reforming her head.
"Did you really think it would be that easy killing a Crystellion" as she laughs maniacally while walking towards the two. Rayn then sees a pickaxe behind them and Max quickly gets up but they were immediately knocked back to the ground by the crystal being.
"It's futile when fight me, Spiral"
"Wait Miss Spiral, weren't you the teacher for Shard and Glim, aren't you guys friends" suddenly Spiral stopped for a minute.
"Ah yes Orlov's brat shard, and lord Quartez's son Glim. Those two were nothing but trouble and always giving me the blame for everything" then Spiral laughed manically again.
"I'm going to enjoy every minute of hearing your screams".
Then Spiral places her palm onto Max's chest as she attempts to pull the core into Max's chest, Max starts to scream in pain as he feels his core being pulled out. "Max!" Rayn screams in his name as Max is in pain, and grabs the pickaxe he saw before.
"hey Ugly!" Spiral looks up and sees immediately getting her head smashed by Rayn then breaks her arm that was on Max's chest.
"Never! Mess! with my... Best Friend!" And pierces the pickaxe again but through the chest. And Miss Spiral felt pain in her chest, feeling threatened she pushed Rayn away as she quickly grew her head back.
"stubborn little idiot. That hurt!" With her palm on her chest she notices that Rayn and Max are suddenly gone. She then gets enraged but stops her anger for a moment smiling deviously "you think you can just run away! You're in my domain, I will never let you leave!" Laughing maniacally she then walks into the walls of the caverns as she merges herself with every crystal combining all into one huge crystal being as she increases her sight and would do nothing but to locate where Max and Rayn are running.
