Chapter 27 – Upgrade in Strength

[Ding! Host has purchased Intermediate-Level Swordsmanship – 20,000 Lust Energy Points. Comparable to Kuina's skill during her pirate-hunter days.]

[Ding! Host has purchased Intermediate-Level Armament Haki – 20,000 Lust Energy Points. Comparable to full-body coating.]

[Ding! Host has purchased Intermediate-Level Observation Haki – 20,000 Lust Energy Points. Comparable to sensing across a small island.]

[Ding! Due to gaining Intermediate-Level Swordsmanship, Intermediate-Level Armament Haki, and Intermediate-Level Observation Haki, several of the host's status attributes have increased.]

Suddenly, a wave of warmth spread through both my mind and body. My muscles tightened and grew stronger as the skills etched themselves deep into every fiber. My mind felt heavier for a moment, overloaded with sudden insights that were being forcefully engraved into my brain.

After a short while, the process finally ended. I could feel the difference immediately—my body felt sturdier and sharper, and my senses were heightened to a level I had never experienced before. My fighting instincts felt more refined, more natural.

I focused for a moment, and a dark metallic coating spread over my entire body.

"Damn… this feels amazing. Now I can finally say I'm the strongest in all of East Blue."

But just as I finished speaking, a sudden dizziness struck me. My knees weakened, my vision blurred, and the metallic coating vanished instantly. I felt completely drained—like I had spent an entire week having sex nonstop.

"System… what happened?"

[Ding! Host, although you have obtained Intermediate-Level Swordsmanship, Intermediate-Level Armament Haki, and Intermediate-Level Observation Haki, you cannot use them fully due to your current weakness. To maintain these abilities properly in battle, your attributes must reach at least 50 points.]

"System… then did I waste those points?"

[Ding! The system warned the host, but you overestimated yourself. This is not the system's fault. Furthermore, these skills will be necessary in the future, and acquiring them has already increased some of your attribute points. Therefore, the host has not suffered any loss.]

I let out a slow breath. It seemed I hadn't considered that part. The body was the foundation of everything—especially Haki. No matter how skilled I became, if my physical strength didn't match the technique, then I wouldn't be able to use it properly. It was like giving a fighter jet to a child.

Besides, Intermediate-Level Armament Haki meant I could at least coat small parts of my body—my arms or legs—to boost both defense and attack power. That alone made it worthwhile.

The same applied to Observation Haki. Even if I couldn't maintain a full 10-kilometer range, I could still keep a stable 100-meter radius for a long time. That was more than enough for now.

Feeling calmer after the system's explanation, I opened my status window to see just how much stronger I had become.

[Ding!!]

Name — Alex Brown Level: 20 [500/21,000 EXP]

Strength: 35

Stat Points: 230

Skills: Karate, Intermediate-Level Swordsmanship

Unique Skill: Blessed by Goddess

My attributes had increased by nearly seven points each, except for agility, which had only risen by three. Even so, seeing my status window filled with new skills brought a deep sense of satisfaction.

'Spending time training with Nami and Lily had turned out to be a good decision.'

If I had to rate myself honestly, I was now at the level of a pirate worth around fifty million berries. And with a short burst of power, I might even be able to take down someone worth a hundred million.

"Alex, what are you spacing out for?"

Nami's tired voice snapped me back to reality. She seemed fully awake now, though still exhausted from our intense sex session.

"It's nothing," I replied. "Let's go eat. You need to build up your strength if you want to keep up in the future."

"Don't even start, you idiot! My legs are killing me. No more sex for a week!"

Even though she sounded angry, I knew Nami well. She always cooled down quickly. So I simply let her grumbling pass and headed toward the kitchen to replenish some energy.

[Scene Change]

Nami and I headed to the kitchen to fill our stomachs since we were both starving after all that "exercise."

Lily had already eaten the food we packed from Shell Town and was sleeping soundly in the hammock. She seemed to be in a deep, peaceful sleep.

Kuina, however, was nowhere in sight. I activated my Observation Haki and instantly sensed her inside the bathroom, cleaning herself.

'Hehe… looks like she's still new to this kind of feeling.'

I ignored both of them for now and reheated the food. Nami and I then ate some sea king meat with rice and a few side dishes.

Afterward, the four of us passed the time idly on the ship, fooling around as we continued sailing across the calm sea.

Soon, Lily looked up and pointed toward the distance. "Hey, look—there are three shipwrecked people over there. Let's go save them."

Kuina immediately agreed, but I didn't. From their clown-like outfits alone, I could tell they were members of the Buggy Pirates.

But Lily was already excited, and I knew those guys were just ordinary pirates, so I didn't bother stopping her.

The moment the three climbed aboard and said "thank you," each one instantly drew a sword.

"Hehe… I order you to hand this ship over to us! The Buggy Pirates are taking it!"

Kuina stepped forward and beat the three of them so cleanly that they were kneeling and begging within seconds.

Kuina stared at them coldly.

"Can you three stop making those disgusting faces? Weren't you the ones trying to hijack the ship? Now you act like we're the bullies."

"You said you're from the Buggy Pirates, right? That means Buggy must be nearby. Take us to him."

Lily blinked in surprise at me while asking ,"You know Buggy?"

I shrugged casually.

"I heard he loves treasure, goes ashore to steal from civilians, and smashes up buildings just for fun. Don't you think someone like Buggy deserves a beating?"

Kuina nodded firmly.

"A tasteless pirate hurting civilians… We should teach him a lesson."

Lily pumped her fist.

"Point the ship that way—I'm going to punch Buggy into the sky!"

The three Buggy Pirates on the deck were practically shaking with excitement, imagining how their captain would punish them for losing yet another ship.

Meanwhile, Nami was staring at the horizon, silently thinking about the Grand Line map she had lost in Shell Town and the treasure she failed to secure.
