Chapter 31 - Chapter 30 - Klahadore

Chapter 30 - Klahadore

The butler, Klahadore was eavesdropping on us. He was standing behind the door, carefully hidden, but I spotted him using my Observation Haki.

It seemed he couldn't hold back any longer. He stepped forward and interrupted our conversation.

"There are no doctors here," Klahadore said coldly. "And Usopp, get down from that tree and leave. We don't welcome liars like you."

Usopp frowned. Something about this man always put him on edge. His gut screamed danger while he watched him.

"Why are you always targeting me, huh?"

Klahadore sneered. "Targeting you? Everyone in this village knows you're a liar who can't stop making things up. You're a pirate's son… and a pirate will always remain a pirate."

His words were cruel, each one striking like a knife.

Usopp clenched his fists while fury was blazing in his eyes. He jumped down from the tree and glared at the butler. "You can insult me all you want, but don't insult my father! He lives free and follows his heart and I respect that!"

Klahadore smirked, his expression cold and calculating. "You think I care? Stop feeding Miss Kaya your ridiculous fantasies. Do you really believe you can charm her and inherit her fortune with your lies?"

"Bastard!"

Usopp snapped and punched Klahadore square in the face, sending him sprawling to the ground.

"Tch." Klahadore spat blood, but a cruel smile spread across his face. "Typical. A pirate's son. Violent and savage. Can't use words, so you resort to fists?"

"What did you say?!" Usopp lunged again, but Kaya's soft voice stopped him.

"Enough, Usopp!" she pleaded. "Violence doesn't solve anything. Please… just go home."

Usopp froze. Her words especially coming from her—hurt more than any insult. His chest ached, but all he could do was bite his lip and step back.

Klahadore straightened his glasses and said coldly, "Leave. And don't ever come near the young lady again. The rest of you, get out too."

"Kuina, let me go!" Lily shouted, struggling as Kuina held him back. "I'm going to punch that damn butler in the face!"

"Hey, calm down," Kuina said firmly. "Don't make things worse."

I watched the scene unfold with interest.

First, Klahadore posing as a butler, speaking poorly of pirates while secretly being one himself—clearly a mastermind and the main obstacle in this villa. He was also the main villain in this Syrup Village arc.

I didn't care about him personally—he was just a side character—but I needed him to play his part so I could step in as the hero and win Kaya's heart.

Then I focused on Kaya. She was a slim girl with pale skin and shoulder-length, pale blonde hair. Her wide, light brown eyes were giving her a delicate yet gentle appearance.

Despite her wealth, she was wearing simple, neat clothing—a plain long dress, or a skirt paired with a jacket. Yet even in such modest attire, her figure was striking, almost lewd like a slut.

I couldn't help but be captivated by her and immediately began planning how to invite her aboard as our ship's doctor. I really wanted her on the ship so that I could fuck her daily.

The plan was simple: defeat Klahadore, take down his black cat pirates, and win Kaya's heart. But now wasn't the right time. I would deal with him soon enough.

After Lily and the others left Kaya's villa, Usopp mood was low. "I'm going for a walk," he muttered. "I need some alone time."

Everyone could tell Usopp seemed shaken. He wandered toward the fence at the edge of the wilderness, while Lily had also wandered off somewhere.

Nami and Kuina shook their heads and went off shopping for the ship supplies , leaving only me and the three kids in the middle of the road. Suddenly, one of the kids shouted,

"Hey! Do you guys see that weird guy over there? He's walking backward!"

Sure enough, the man not far away was moving backward—almost like he was moon walking.

We watched silently as he approached. Of course, I already knew who he was. He was Jango, the acting captain of the Black Cat Pirates.

Jango stopped a few feet away and spoke defensively. "I'm not a weirdo. I'm not weird at all, okay?"

One of the kids asked cautiously, "Then… who are you?"

"Me?" Jango said proudly, puffing out his chest. "I'm Jango, a hypnotist."

"A hypnotist?" The three kids' eyes immediately lit up. One of them asked eagerly, "So you've got a special trick? Can you show us?"

I muttered under my breath, "Kids will be kids… I wonder what kind of trick he could possibly have."

Jango smirked while watching us like a country bumpkin. Then he pulled out a shiny pocket watch.

"Okay, to prove I'm the real deal, I'm going to show you real hypnotic power."

He began to swing the watch. "Look at this watch. When I count—1, 2, Jango—you'll fall asleep."

"1… 2… Jango…"

"ZzzZZZ…"

"ZzzZZZ…"

"ZzzZZZ…"

"ZzzZZZ…"

In an instant, Jango and the three kids were completely asleep. I, however, remained wide awake, feeling nothing at all.

'Seems it only works on the weak-willed one.'

The four of them fell asleep quickly, but they woke up just as fast as if nothing had happened.

Jango was grinning as if he had performed some incredible feat. He then began bragging to the kids. After a while, he casually strolled toward the mansion.

….

Meanwhile, I watched a dejected Usopp sitting on the grass beneath a huge tree on the cliffside, staring blankly at the sea. He looked completely defeated.

As a friend, I could have tried to console him, but I honestly wasn't interested. My mind was already occupied with Kaya, so I simply ignored his gloomy mood and focused on what truly mattered to me.

But lily was different. She suddenly dropped from the branches above and crashed beside him. Usopp yelped so loudly that a flock of gulls flew away in panic.

After they chatted for a while, the two of them somehow ended up overhearing a conversation from behind the trees. Usopp tugged Lily down, and both of them peeked through the bushes.

To their horror, Klahadore and Jango were standing there. They were calmly discussing a sinister plan to kill Kaya and inheriting her property.

From their conversation, they learned the truth I had already suspected.

Klahadore was actually the infamous pirate Captain Kuro of a Hundred Plans, and Jango was his hypnotist first mate. Their goal was simple and cruel—they planned to lead the Black Cat Pirates to attack the village at dawn.

Then, with hypnosis, they would force Kaya to write a will leaving all her fortune to her "loyal butler," who was really Kuro in disguise.

Lily couldn't hold back. She sprang to her feet and yelled, "Hey! You're not allowed to hurt this village!"

The moment Kuro heard her, his expression turned razor-sharp. He ordered Jango to act immediately.

Within seconds, Jango swung his watch, and Lily was hypnotized on the spot. Usopp thought Jango was throwing a weapon, so he dodged by pure luck. Lily, however, stumbled backward and fell straight off the cliff.

Everyone assumed she was dead. Jango wanted to chase after Usopp, but Kuro raised a hand and stopped him.

"No need," he said coldly. "No one in this village believes that liar anyway."

And unfortunately, he was right.

Usopp ran through the streets, shouting warnings about the incoming pirate attack, but no one listened. Some cursed at him for lying again, and others dismissed him without a second thought. Even Kaya refused to believe him, her face filled with disappointment as she accused him of making up stories once more.

Heartbroken, Usopp trudged back toward the restaurant. When he pushed open the door, his eyes widened in disbelief. Lily and the rest of the crew were already there, eating and drinking as if nothing had happened.

Usopp's jaw dropped. "Lily?! You're alive?!"

Lily snorted and took another bite of his snack. "I'm made of rubber. Have you ever seen rubber die from a fall?"

Usopp stared at her, then slumped into a chair with a long sigh. "So that's it…"

"Hey, hey," I said, feeling exasperated as I leaned back in my chair. "What's with that attitude? You're way too soft. You said you wanted to be a brave warrior of the sea, but right now you're exactly what that fake butler called you—a big talker."

Nami frowned and shot me a glare. "Alex, that's a bit harsh—"

I raised a hand before she could continue. "Just telling the truth."

Usopp clenched his fists so tightly his knuckles turned white.

"What do you want me to do? They're real pirates! But I can't let them hurt the villagers. Even if it costs me my life, I'll fight them tomorrow!"

Lily grinned and slapped Usopp on the back. "Hey, Usopp. We're with you!"

Usopp's eyes widened with disbelief. "You are? You'll really help me? That's great! Waaaahhh—!"

So after that dramatic outburst, we agreed to join him in defeating the incoming pirates and saving the village.

I also readily accepted. First of all, there was no danger for any of us. Those pirates were just small fry and could be handled easily. And second, winning Kaya's heart by acting as the village hero was simply too perfect of an opportunity to miss.

Once we finished eating, Nami started to think seriously about a plan. Meanwhile, Lily crossed his arms with full confidence and said, "What's there to be afraid of? We'll beat them up."

Kuina gave a calm nod. "Cut them down."

Usopp rubbed the back of his head nervously. "Ahaha… I'm flexible. If you guys want, you can have them. I'll just watch."

"Alright, alright," Nami sighed as she massaged her temples. "Do you at least know where they're coming from? Before a big fight, shouldn't we, I don't know—make some kind of plan?"

Lily flashed a proud smile. "Don't worry, Nami. If they dare to come tomorrow, I'll beat them all—"

"Yes!! Beat them all!"

Nami smacked her head in irritation.

"Honestly, I can't deal with you idiots!"
