With one hand she infused chakra and, using her own control, suppressed nerve endings. With the other hand she made an incision, for reliability activating Byakugan. Usually she activated Byakugan only in exceptional cases for treating very influential shinobi, but Kenshin was sympathetic to her, so she wanted to give him the best treatment she was capable of.
Kenshin saw Byakugan activation for the first time and watched spellbound her face that wasn't disfigured at all but rather more beautiful. Bulging white veins gave the mature woman additional charm, and she looked magnificent.
At that moment Hitomi was focused on treatment and paid no attention to external stimuli. She was the most experienced medical ninja in the hospital and had long gotten used to people staring at her Byakugan. Many considered it ugliness, and the only thing unpleasant for her was that Kenshin was the same.
She very quickly made an incision in the right place and, clamping several large vessels with chakra, pulled out the bone fragment.
"The hardest part is behind, now we need to close the wound and slightly grow the bones." Hitomi said with a smile and, to keep the conversation going, asked: "How did you manage to run into storm wolves? There's no chakra in your body at all…"
"I came here with my brother and two relatives…" he began and after a few minutes retold her the whole "official" story.
Hitomi politely smiled and didn't continue this topic. She was raised in the aristocratic Hyuga clan and had excellent manners.
While she fixed the bones and healed tissues, Kenshin maintained casual conversation with her, not being pushy but strengthening relations. Half an hour later, superficial treatment of the left arm was finished, and Hitomi skillfully applied a simple but functional splint to his arm.
"Tired? Endure a bit more, judging by everything your right arm suffered less than the left, it will be a bit faster." Hitomi said to him with a smile. Kenshin couldn't get enough of her beautiful, sensual face and involuntarily smiled every time at the small wrinkles in the corners of her eyes when she enthusiastically talked about her work.
Hyuga Hitomi in turn got rid of all the stress accumulated over several days and happily communicated with such a young but far from stupid guy. She incredibly liked working in such a bright and friendly atmosphere, and the no longer young girl didn't feel at all the fatigue accumulated over the whole day.
Fifteen minutes later, both of Kenshin's arms had splints, and Hitomi instructively said: "So. The fractures will heal in about a month. You must exclude any load on your arms and also come to me for an appointment every day, otherwise your left arm will never recover. Such pieces of bone tissue are replaced by cartilage, and if not treated properly, your arm will lose its former functionality. Do you have money?"
Kenshin was shocked by the flood of information this kindest woman poured on him.
"Money?"
"Yes, for treatment you owe 1000 ryō, and another 200 ryō for each appointment starting tomorrow." Hitomi declared in a serious tone. In fact she gave him a huge discount. According to regulations he should have paid 2500 ryō for the services rendered and 500 for each appointment, but Kenshin was sympathetic to her, and she was even ready to treat him on credit, not wanting to watch such a wonderful guy become disabled.
"Ah, yes, good, I have. Here, take it." Kenshin said with a smile and handed her 1200 ryō.
"Good, now you need to sleep. I'll visit you in the morning." Hitomi said in a voice sweet as honey.
"Good night, Hitomi-san." Kenshin said and lay more comfortably in the hospital bed.
"Good night." she said and went out the door.
Hitomi's sweet voice and tender expression changed to an icy tone with which she addressed the medical ninja assistant sitting at the registration desk. "Still sitting and slacking?!"
"Ah!" he cried out in fright and dropped a thin book from his hands. "No, of course not Hitomi-sama. I just sat down!"
"Changed bandages for the patient in eight?" she asked coldly.
"N-not yet, I'll do it right now!" the young man cried out in fright and, bowing several times, quickly ran toward room eight.
"Pathetic slacker!" Hitomi snapped at his back and involuntarily glanced toward room eleven. Her gaze instantly warmed, and the stately, strong-willed woman again felt like a young girl winked at by a handsome guy.

After Hitomi left, Kenshin could no longer stay conscious and fell into blissful sleep. He was so exhausted that he didn't wake even from loud door slams from that same medical ninja assistant who shamelessly behaved like an elephant in a china shop.
By nine in the morning, Hitomi had already returned to work and first decided to check on Kenshin but didn't wake him, just looking at his peaceful face for a few seconds. In her quite long life Hitomi never had best friends, but looking at this young man, all sorts of crazy thoughts were born in her head for which she immediately scolded herself "What's wrong with you, Hitomi?! Snap out of it already! Acting like a stupid academy girl!" she told herself and, turning, left the room, deciding to get to work.
Only an hour later Kenshin finally woke up but felt broken. He could sleep at least another day and night but found strength to get up. Rising from bed, he was surprised to discover that the huge bruises on his back and stomach had already turned yellow and didn't cause discomfort.
A minute later the door opened, and Hitomi elegantly entered, smiling and lingering her gaze on Kenshin's bare torso for an unforgivably long time. She immediately pulled herself together and raised her eyes to his beautiful face.
"Good morning, how are you feeling?" Hitomi asked in a sweet voice and immediately blushed slightly. She didn't understand what was happening to her and why her voice changed on its own.
"Good, Hitomi-san, been better. Is this your golden hands' work?" Kenshin asked and pointed to his stomach and back.
Hitomi only smiled and nodded, not taking her gaze from his beautiful brown eyes. "Well, ready for another session?" she asked with a smile.
"With you, Hitomi-san, I'm ready for anything!" Kenshin declared and smiled in response.
"What a flatterer…" Hitomi said and smiled gently. During her long medical practice she had been flattered or openly shown signs of attention more than once, but all these attempts ended at best with a rude refusal, and at worst with a powerful slap. No one had the right to hit on her—even if not loved by her clan, but still carrying the blood of the great Hyuga clan.
