On the defensive side, David Williams's hiding spot was incredibly risky. He was concealed at a camouflaged point outside the defensive zone. As he put it, he was employing the "trapped turtle" strategy: after Tobby Curry and his team bypassed him and engaged with the main base, he'd ambush them from behind, essentially reaping the rewards.
This was a strategy he took upon himself, though the other team members initially disagreed. After all, the tactics revolved around him, and if he were exposed or taken out first, the other team members would struggle to gain any advantage over the veterans. They knew that Williams was trying to prove himself, but they couldn't argue against it. The man had past successes with his unorthodox methods, so they didn't push too hard.
Observing Williams's situation, the analyst said, "He's too reckless, just putting himself at the forefront. He's lacking in a broader strategic sense."
