For a moment, those two were left confused.
What Kurama? What Dimensional Lord?
Were they living in a fantasy world? At least, X-Gene could be explained.
They shook their heads, but they didn't have any distrust towards Adam. He said he was after their souls, even though he could've left them behind.
This gave them a lot of confidence in him.
Especially when they heard they could return to normal after signing the contract immediately got their attention.
"Can we? Become normal?"
Boris choked as he asked. On the other hand, Illena was almost about to shed tears.
"Yes, believe me!"
Adam nodded his head and unfolded the contracts.
Signing didn't require a pen, but a fingerprint. It wasn't using a fingerprint, but the part of the soul attached to the finger.
They were so nervous that they didn't even read the contract properly.
After signing, Adam shook his head and said.
"Next time, don't sign without checking the contract. There are many Hell Lords who can trick you."
"Like Mephisto. He will cure you today, only for you to die tomorrow due to the accident he made."
When they heard that, their hearts almost stopped.
They never thought Mephisto could be so despicable.
'Then again, he is a demon. So, that makes a lot of sense.'
"I will send you to my Lord's place. He will cure you and send you back."
He waved his hand, creating a portal that engulfed two of them.
Poof!
The next moment, they appeared in a dark place. It was a massive land, filled with nothing but trees.
On that land, there was a gigantic beast with nine tails, staring at them with red eyes.
When they saw him, their souls almost escaped their bodies.
They were so scared that they couldn't even raise their heads for a moment.
"Nope! This form doesn't work."
A voice came from the fox's face, and he suddenly disappeared with a poof.
Instead, a man who was a bit similar to Adam, with three whiskers and nine red energy tails flowing behind him, appeared.
"Is this comfortable?"
Two of them were still too scared to speak. But they didn't sense any pressure from him, which calmed their hearts.
They nodded, and Boris spoke.
"You must be Lord Kurama? Why do you?"
Kurama waved his hand and said.
"Because this form is better to communicate with you, humans. Anyway, I am a new Dimensional Lord, so I will choose this look from now on."
"Anyway, you have signed the contract, and now, your souls belong to me. In return, I will help you go back to normal."
"Is that right?"
Two of them nodded their heads.
"Hmm! I have two options for you. I can revert you to the time before experiments."
"Or, I can simply create two new bodies for you and put your souls into them. Of course, in that case, you will lose your powers."
"And once you lose your powers, you will not have any chance of becoming my herald."
"So, choose carefully!"
Kurama said and waited for their reply.
With his absolute control over energy, matter, soul, and time and space, creating a new body for them or even reverting them wouldn't be a problem.
But why would he give them two options?
This was his plan to help the mutant race.
They always lose the battle because of different circumstances, but one thing always remained the same.
X-gene's power could be blocked using a certain technology or even magic.
Many of the anti-mutant organizations used technology. Dr. Doom once used magic.
It didn't matter what they used. The problem was that without the power of the X-gene, mutants were just lambs to be slaughtered.
So, he was giving them a chance. If they accepted his offer and chose to be his herald, he could slowly increase their powers.
He wasn't giving them favors since he was literally asking for their souls.
And that's what made these two hesitate.
If he hadn't said that last sentence, they would've immediately chosen the second option.
Because the X-gene had brought nothing but pain and suffering to them.
So, naturally, they wanted to live a better life as a normal human.
But an opportunity to become a herald of a being who could literally create a human body wasn't something they could pass on so easily.
Even though they hadn't seen him do it, they had to believe in him.
And, that's where their hesitation lay.
They even looked at each other, communicating with their eyes.
Although they weren't that familiar, both had faced a similar pain.
After a lot of thinking, both looked at Kurama and said.
"We want to choose the first option."
That's right! They chose power.
Kurama, satisfied by their choice, grinned and snapped his fingers.
Suddenly, a large amount of purple energy poured into their bodies, physically transforming them.
As he read their memories and understood them even further, he took their physical appearance back to the time when they were just normal mutants.
Boris returned to a man in his early twenties, while Illena returned to her teenage years.
Though there was one surprising thing about Illena. Her wings suddenly folded behind her back.
Although they didn't disappear, it was quite hidden.
As the transformation ended, they slowly opened their eyes.
Boris saw his previous skin and tears fell down his cheeks. The same was with Illena, but she cried even more.
Because at least Boris looked human before. Even a child could figure out her identity as a mutant.
Kurama nodded his head with satisfaction and said.
"Adam should've said this to you before. But let me reiterate this. The more contracts you can get for me, the more benefits you will receive from me."
"For mutants and super-powered beings, my contracts will help them control their abilities or fix them, or even save them from certain death."
"For normal humans, that's not the case. You have a portion of my power. So, when they are in mortal danger, you can pull them into an illusion space."
"In this space, you can ask them to sign a contract and save them. If they don't sign the contract, don't save them, understand?"
Two mutants nodded their heads without any hesitation.
They never considered saving humans.
Originally, Kurama simply wanted to get those souls for himself.
And since Ancient One allowed him to access his dimension directly, he could pull in those souls into his dimension.
But there was one problem. Except for Adam, the others couldn't open the portal to his dimension.
Unless they were given a large portion of his power.
But, he wouldn't give it to others even if it was for this reason.
So, he changed his strategy from collecting dead souls directly to signing the contract first.
After signing the contract, the soul would directly enter his dimension without anyone's interference.
And, saving them once didn't mean saving them multiple times.
The Marvel Universe was a place where danger emerged every day.
There were literally people who had done evil things in governmental positions.
These people's actions often lead to the death of many ordinary people.
More importantly, while he did have the direction connection, it didn't mean other Dimensional Lords, Hell, Heaven couldn't get access to those souls.
If someone had a pure soul, they would enter Heaven, while those with a foul soul would enter hell.
So, if he could secure these people with the help of a contract, what else did he have to lose?
"Thank you, Lord!"
Both mutants bowed their heads. It felt weird for them, but somehow their bodies reacted in such a way.
Kurama nodded and whisked them away.
As they returned to the Earth, Kurama started pulling those dead souls of the soldiers and doctors towards him.
He wanted to experiment with these souls.
He wanted to convert them into energy and see if they produce the same energy as space-time.
With a sweep of his hand, those souls started screaming in agony as their normal souls were being torn and shredded apart.
Kurama just expressionlessly watched.
This was torture for them, but it was good. Because these people were the ones who experimented on mutants and watched them for good.
Now, he was doing the same.
After a few minutes, a red energy kept flickering in front of him.
This energy took the form of a gas cloud, but he could feel something different about it.
He raised his hand and caught a portion of the cloud.
He immediately felt a difference.
This was pure energy that could affect his soul. Of course, it wasn't enough to affect him.
But it did change his soul a little bit.
Thinking about it, an excited look appeared on his face.
'Wait a minute! What if I mold this energy into a unique spiritual energy, enhance it with my normal Chakra, then put it in Adam?'
'As long as I can control the function of my Chakra, I will be able to produce Sharingan and Rinnegan in Adam's eyes.'
