Chapter 26 - Listing from a lonely mother

Leo's new pet seemed to have finally lost its resistance toward him after eating delicious meals back to back at Leo's house.

On the dining table in the living room, ten burgers were lined up, and all the healthy ingredients inside the burgers had been piled into a heap in the center of the table.

Some of the burgers didn't even have their buns anymore, and the cat had chosen itself a position on the table as it enjoyed the patties of the bun less burgers.

A scene that resembled the rebellion of a middle aged man who had been forced to care about his health for the past year.

Since Leo didn't know which of the two biggest coke brands was more harmful, he bought a can from each and was drinking them one after another.

Meanwhile, an listing remained open on the laptop screen sitting on the couch.

A market for sale in a neighborhood near Seoul National University.

Moreover, the second floor above the market was included in the sale. The previous owner was a woman, a mother of two, who had lived alone on that floor.

After her children grew up and started university, they earned their independence by working part time, so the woman put the market up for sale.

There was only one special condition in the listing.

The owner would continue living in one of the upstairs rooms until she found a new place to move into.

The purchase price of the market was only 1 billion won.

Since Leo had been researching since morning, he had learned the market quite a bit.

Even though the market's location was in a back alley and therefore in a bad spot, the seventy five square meter ground floor alone would normally cost around seven hundred million won.

If we also add the apartment on the second floor of the building where the market was located, the total area we could buy for only one billion won would reach one hundred fifty square meters.

Of course, even if it was only temporary, the value might drop a little since the market owner would take over one of the rooms upstairs, but its total value would definitely never fall below one billion won.

If we assume that Leo's system changed, that he left the place because of that, and that the woman moved out during this time, then if we renovate the remaining areas with around one hundred million won, Leo could sell the place again for at least one point four billion won.

That means he would not lose money even if he filled the inside of the market and completely renewed its design.

Of course, according to Leo's guess, systems like the one he had would handle the entire interior decoration of the market by themselves once they were bound to a market as their location.

After searching for a long time, this was the only market listing Leo could buy without taking a loss.

If we try to guess why other people who wanted to buy a market had ignored this place for so long, it was probably because most people who looked at market listings of this size had less than six hundred million won in their pockets.

In a city like Seoul, apartment prices hover at very high levels.

Almost every apartment costs close to the price of a shop of the same size.

According to Leo's calculation, the listing he found was worth slightly over one billion, and that made him think of one possibility; the unclear statements in the listing about the owner occupying one of the apartment rooms for a while were the rotten parts of the listing.

Because the listing did not say how long the woman who owned the listing would stay there, it only said she would move out after she found a house she could buy.

So even if Leo became uncomfortable ten years from now and told her to finally find herself a house, there would be nothing legal he could do.

Of course, it is not like Leo really cared about that.

If the woman left, he would not take any loss. If the woman did not leave and he gave up on the upper floor because of that, he would only take a loss of around two hundred fifty to three hundred million won.

If the system gave Leo really good things, Leo would probably gift the entire floor to the woman without hesitation.

If the System betrayed him and made him angry, The Eyes of Fear would definitely be a skilled mediator for convincing the woman.

After Leo ate four out of the ten burgers, he felt like his stomach was going to explode and stopped eating.

He was about to throw away three burgers he had pulled toward himself when he met the gaze of the kitty.

Since the cat was still a kitten, it could probably eat more than two meals a day.

Leo dropped the patties of the three burgers into the cat's bowl and started cleaning up.

Unfortunately, the kitten had overdone it too. It opened its tiny mouth to eat the patties, but every time it opened its mouth, the patties in its stomach tried to come back out.

In the end, the cat grabbed the bowl of patties with its teeth and dragged it to the couch where it had slept yesterday.

When Leo entered the living room with cleaning supplies, he saw the kitten's behavior and smiled.

The little kitten's tsundere behavior was very cute.

Unfortunately, the smile on Leo's face did not last long.

The white fur scattered everywhere in the living room and the tiny cat poop hidden in the corner of the kitchen instantly erased all of Leo's joy.

The first solution that came to Leo's mind was to finish cleaning and then watch videos online to learn how to tame a kitten, but even the thought of this, made him feel too lazy.

Since he had recently earned a lot of money from the System, he decided to spend some of it and hire an animal trainer to tame the kitten.

There were two things left to do today.

First: find out why the System thought he owned more than 8 billion in assets.

Second: finalize the contract with the woman who owned the listing before it became too late.

Of course, he could not sign a contract through a video call, which meant he needed to visit the city where he would attend university a bit earlier.

Thinking about it, it was very likely that the original Leo had also moved to Seoul early in the main story so he could qualify as a small villain with a few followers.

Leo looked at himself in the mirror for a moment to compare himself to the villain in the webtoon, and without saying anything, he smiled and went to pet his cat.

The little white cat did not resist, which caused Leo to lose interest in it even faster.

Thus, Leo went to his room, opened his computer, and prepared to spend the rest of the day.

Obtaining a healthy body thanks to the System was like entering an endless day off cycle.

He, no longer needed to exercise daily, he no longer needed to eat healthy, and most importantly, his little bit fear of the future had disappeared.

When Leo sat at his desk, put the half finished coke can to his mouth, and settled into a loose position on his chair, a text appeared above his head that said -10 IQ.

A mystical text visible only to my dear readers, unseen by even the System.

A piece of advice heard while the lazy author was being beaten by his editor was the following: Being lazy makes you stupid. DİEEEE!!!

The last part might not be advice, but anyway, you get what I mean.

Do not let your editor into your home.
