On the highest balcony of the Imperial Castle...
Kael Veyris stood beside Ignisia.
Her crimson-red hair swayed gently in the morning wind.
Her black-gold dragon horns reflected the sunlight.
She wore a flowing black dress embroidered with subtle golden dragon scales.
Kael quietly looked across the endless city.
Ignisia smiled.
"You've been watching everyone again."
Kael nodded.
"They look happy."
Ignisia stepped beside him.
"They are."
She gently rested her hand in his.
"You've protected this peace for a very long time."
Kael smiled softly.
"It was worth it."
Footsteps echoed behind them.
Aurelion Veythar approached.
He folded his arms.
"I had a feeling I'd find both of you here."
Kael looked back.
"Good morning, Aurelion."
"I've been thinking."
Kael smiled.
"That usually means you have another question."
Aurelion laughed.
"I do."
He looked over the Empire.
"You created infinite realities."
"You created countless civilizations."
"But what are you most proud of?"
The question lingered.
Kael remained silent.
Ignisia looked toward him with curiosity.
Finally...
Kael answered.
"This."
Aurelion blinked.
"The Empire?"
Kael shook his head.
"My family."
Ignisia's expression softened.
"The Empire may last forever."
"But without them..."
"It would simply be another empty creation."
Aurelion smiled.
"I knew that would be your answer."
Elsewhere inside the Imperial Castle...
Veyloria Kaelthera Veyris walked through one of the grand halls.
Her black-and-silver hair shimmered beneath the crystal chandeliers.
Her golden-yellow eyes sparkled with curiosity.
She found several of Kael's wives gathered together.
Lilith.
Nyx.
Genesisra.
Ashvattha.
Draconyra.
Vaelithra Umbrys.
Zeraphiel.
The former World Tree.
The former Universe Tree.
They welcomed Veyloria with warm smiles.
Lilith laughed.
"Our little princess is here."
Veyloria smiled.
"I wanted to ask all of you something."
Nyx tilted her head.
"What is it?"
Veyloria looked around the room.
"What was Father like when each of you first met him?"
The room became quiet.
Ashvattha smiled first.
"I met a man who carried the weight of creation... yet still stopped to admire a single flower."
Genesisra laughed softly.
"I met someone so powerful that nothing could threaten him... yet he spoke to everyone with kindness."
Vaelithra Umbrys smiled.
"He listened more than he spoke."
Draconyra nodded.
"And he never judged anyone by their origin."
The former World Tree smiled warmly.
"He always respected life."
The former Universe Tree added,
"He believed every story deserved the chance to exist."
Finally...
Lilith looked toward Veyloria.
"I met someone who didn't see a Demon Queen."
"He simply saw... Lilith."
Nyx smiled gently.
"And that's why we stayed."
Veyloria listened carefully.
"So..."
"Father has always been the same?"
Everyone smiled.
"Yes."
"He never changed."
A short time later...
Kael, Ignisia, and Aurelion entered the hall.
Veyloria immediately ran toward her father.
"Father!"
Kael smiled.
"Enjoying your conversation?"
She nodded enthusiastically.
"I learned something."
"What did you learn?"
Veyloria looked at all of Kael's wives.
Then back at him.
"Everyone loves you for the same reason."
Kael blinked.
"And what reason is that?"
She smiled brightly.
"You never treated anyone as if they were above or below someone else."
"You simply treated them like family."
The room became silent.
Aurelion smiled.
"I don't think anyone could have said it better."
Ignisia gently slipped her hand into Kael's.
"You've built more than an Empire."
"You've built a home."
Kael looked around the room.
His daughters.
His wives.
His oldest friend.
Their laughter.
Their smiles.
He quietly smiled.
"Then let's continue protecting it."
