Chapter 12 - Haruo has priorities

"This is happening way too often." I mutter to myself while I wake up. I feel like being knocked out due to injuries shouldn't be a common thing and yet here I am. In a sterile looking room, in a bed, in a large amount

of pain. Again.

"It's happened before?" Misty asks from across the room by the door. She's got a few cuts and bruises but still seems mostly ok.

"Where are we?" I ask her, ignoring the question.

"After I trashed that mech the shadow rangers support showed up. He needed medical attention so I forced them to take us to a safe house with medical supplies. Nobody should know we're here and I'm keeping them from

leaving or calling anyone." Her fox ears twitch when she says this. "You took some heavy hits out there but with the stuff they have here you'll be fine. You've only been out for about 4 hours." Wow, that's way better than last time.

"Thanks Misty. Ok, let's go." I try and get out of bed but can't seem to put any weight on my legs.

"You'll have to wait a little longer before we go. The drugs in your system are probably making you dizzy." She walks over and I can see her cat like eyes stare at me. How many people do I know with unusual eyes? When she's next to me I get handed a small gumdrop. "Try sucking on this, it'll help you focus.".

"Oh, thank you. Sorry about this." I look away as I place the gumdrop in my mouth.

"It's fine, you were in an intense fight and I'm guessing your not too used to that." She has no idea. I was stabbed! And that power, it

was like nothing I'd ever felt before. "But next time you should be more careful. You almost died, plus if I wasn't there to block the falling molten metal something really bad could have happened." I mentally kick myself because OBVIOUSLY something like that would happen.

"I'm sorry, I was way too reckless." I finally mange to stand up with her help. "What do we do now?" I ask.

"I was waiting for you to wake up before we interrogated them. You being the shadow rangers brother might help things. He saw you, but nobody else did. We might be able to use that." As we walk towards the door I

remember that I lost my transformation and Satoshi saw me. That probably isn't good. "So do you wanna be good cop?".

"What do you mean?" I ask as we walk through the doorway.

"I usually don't get to be the bad cop so I was hoping that you'd be good cop for me. Given that you have the disposition of a baby panda." A baby panda?!

"No I don't." I whine. I meant it to sound more threatening but I couldn't manage it.

"The album on her computer says otherwise.".

"What?".

"Don't worry about it." And so I don't.

"So if I'm the good cop, does that mean I should bring cookies?".

"Nah. He's your brother right? He should be more inclined to tell you things." Boy, I WISH I had that sort of relationship with him. "He's

in this room here, I've got his team in the next room. He's recovering from all the injuries you gave him so we probably don't have to worry about any funny business." Misty explains as we arrive at another white door.

"Could you let me go in first? I doubt both of us are needed in there.".

"You sure?" Misty asks as her tails move from side to side.

"Pretty sure. Before I go in though…" I place my hands in front of her and activate heal. Her body has already healed from most of her

injuries, she's number 3 after all so this is just speeding things up.

"Oh wow. That really is a great feeling.".

"I've been told. I'm not a big fan of it myself but I try to make use of it when I can.".

"I can see why Lilith lied back then.".

"what?".

"Don't worry about it." And so I don't. "I'll be waiting out here. Just remember that I can hear most of what you say." Well that's a little

scary. I give her an unsure nod and walk into the room. Laying in a hospital bed with a tube filled with iv fluid was my big brother. His eyes soon meet mine and there's a silence for a second that feels like a whole minute.

"So… fancy seeing you here." I say to break the ice.

"Yeah. A bit surprising after you hit me with lightning and fire and an actual literal dragon." I did do those things.

"Especially so after you stabbed me with a sword." He just nods in acknowledgment.

"Even more so when it turned out your Kaiju boy, the wanted criminal working to destroy humanity.".

"That last part isn't true.".

"Right. Now I'm going to ignore for the moment how incredibly angry I am because you just gave me the second best fight of my

life. Those even out.".

"Who's the first?".

"Don't worry about it." Getting a little tired of being told that. "I do have to wonder what your going to do to me. I'm guessing your not

keeping me alive for nothing." Well technically it was Misty who did that but whatever.

"Ignoring the fact that we don't kill people, I need information. And, Y'know, your my brother.".

"Of course. That should have been obvious.".

"Which part?".

"That you need information." Gosh darn it.

"Hm. Well then you should get on with it." I sit on the edge of the bed. It'll be better if we can get this over with quickly.

"I suppose so. I lost, and the loser has no right to refuse." Bit of a weird worldview but if it works in my favour. "I'll answer whatever you want to know." Wow, this is going great.

"Where is Lilith being held?" Let's get right to the heart of the matter.

"You mean insect queen?".

"Yes." I answer in an annoyed tone. He could at least bother to know her name.

"I can't tell you that." What?.

"Why not? Is she dead?!" I crawl across the bed until I'm in front of his face. He stares at me with a look of surprise.

"No. Probably not anyway. Insect queen has been placed on the same threat level as an S class Kaiju. In accordance with that she is to be sent to the dark zone for experimentation." There's another awkward silence between us.

"What's the dark zone? I've never heard of that before." There's only supposed to be 26 zones in the city. Is dark zone an alternate

name for 1 of them?

"The dark zone is a secret area that only the highest ranking members of the ranger force know about. Even then, I and some of the

gold rangers know nothing for certain except that it exists. A highly funded black site meant to advance knowledge of Kaiju and Kaiju children without the constraints of traditional laws." I stand back up while he explains it to me. It sounds like something out of a horror novel.

"That sounds incredibly illegal. How could that possibly be allowed?" I feel the wand in my jacket start to shake.

"That's kind of the idea. The ranger force isn't quite as powerful as we'd like people to think. When Kaiju children were first born there

was a campaign to have their rights restricted. The higher ups wanted them to

exclusively be seen as tools. But they weren't able to go as far as they wanted. While a mandatory training program was set up for you all, you still retained most of your human rights. Most other cities around the world followed suit, at least from what we can tell with limited communication. I can imagine

that frustration is what led to the dark zone being constructed." I pace around the room for a minute. This is a lot to take in.

"What happens in the dark zone? Why would they send Lilith there?" I feel like I'm asking an obvious question but I can't think of an

answer.

"Like I said, insect queen is an S class threat. She is fully capable of taking over this city with her abilities. On top of that, she has a general disregard for authority that drives the director crazy. So it would be advantageous to get rid of her. But that's not the real reason I'm guessing. I'll bet you £5 that they really just want to analyse and experiment with her abilities." I nearly smack him but stop. I quickly regain my composure.

"So they sent Lilith there because they want to see how she works." I say more to myself than him and grip my wrist tightly.

"It shouldn't come as much of a surprise. She's an asset against the kaiju. Of course an organisation based around fighting Kaiju would want to make more use of that. And with her being a terrorist, it's not exactly a huge loss." I grit my teeth at that. "I'm just sad that I couldn't get a fight with her. Can you imagine?".

"Vividly." Especially after we fought. But that's not really the point. "Where is the dark zone? How do I get Lilith out of there?" That's the important part here.

"Don't know. That's why they made it. And of course, you can't get her out. She's probably already been put through the system and being sent away as we speak. If we're lucky we won't ever see insect queen again." That doesn't sound lucky.

"How can you say that so nonchalantly?!" I grip my left arm tightly, there's got to be a way to fix this.

"I just don't worry about the things I can't control. This isn't something I would even be telling you about under most circumstance. For both our sakes." This may be the longest I've ever talked to him. It's almost surreal.

"Well… we aren't in most circumstances." I gain some confidence halfway through my sentence. "You lost the fight, and like you said, that means I'm entitled to some actual useful information." I'm not even sure if what happened counts as a win. But he seems to think it is so who am I to say no? "So even if you think it won't matter, tell me how I can save Lilith. Don't tell me you don't know.".

"Why don't you understand? I already told you that it's pointless!".

"I don't care!". Without thinking I launch my fist into his face. His face doesn't give a single inch so I think I hurt myself more than him. Oh my gosh I just punched a bedridden man in the face! And he's the shadow ranger! And he's my brother! I jump back when my actions dawn on me. Satoshi simply gives me a toothy smile.

"Now we're talking! Where's this been all these years bro?!" I'm really starting to not regret it.

"Answer the question!" I think I'm officially the bad cop.

"Fine! You want to go on a suicide mission? Go ahead! Not my fault anyway." Of course that would be his reaction. "Now don't take this as fact, but they should be sending insect queen to the dark zone on a submarine. It's likely already departed but you might be able to catch up if you hurry. Good luck finding it though. Let alone actually getting her back." A submarine? This is going to be such a pain.

"Alright. That's all you know then?" I ask as I get ready to leave.

"Yep. Now if that's all, how about I get back to my nap." He closes his eyes but I still have 1 more thing to sort out.

"Satoshi." His eyes open as I address him. "Don't tell anyone I'm Kaiju boy. I get it's your job, but seriously. We don't talk much and that bothers me. That's why I had Sapphire burn you alive. But we are brothers, and if that means anything to you, then keep quiet ok?" We stare at each other for a moment before he closes his eyes again and gives me a small nod.

"Sure thing lil bro." He then casually waves me off. I've got a ton of mixed feelings about all this but they'll have to wait.

"So how'd it go?" Misty asks as I exit the room.

"Good, at least I think so.".

"It was rhetorical. I could hear all of it.".

"All of it?" I feel my cheeks warm up.

"All of it." Gosh darn it. "Meaning that I know what we have to do next. We first need to find that submarine, then get it to surface. I mean, we could just skip that and get her out while it's still underwater. Could be easier." Misty seems to get lost in thought for a second.

"But we won't right? That could kill a lot of people." Is there something I'm missing here? Am I being stupid.

"Don't worry we won't. I'm just pointing out that it's something we can do. It would cause way more of a mess in the long term anyway." Well that's good. "But this does still lead us to the biggest problem. Where is it? Assuming it hasn't been too long since it left then we could probably still find it but that will take time. My senses will only be able to help us so much underwater." She's right, this is going to be tricky.

"I think we'll have to come up with something on the way." Misty nods as I say this. It's not ideal in the slightest but it'll have to do.

"Yeah. Let's head out. Just need to take care of the others first." She starts to walk to another door with purpose.

"Do you mean the other ranger force members? Did they see me?" That could be really bad. It's possible that I'm already going to prison or worse for this. If they saw me then my chances drop even lower.

"I don't think so. we just need to organise when they get out. I was planning on using them as hostages but now that we have the

information we need that's not really necessary. If we can get Lilith back we can make them forget me as well." I stop for a second to transform into Kaiju boy and then do a little jog to catch up with her again.

"That's probably not going to be fun for her. Since Lilith doesn't use her powers without consent of course." She gives me a strange look for some reason.

"Uh, yeah. Although she'll still do it if she has to.".

"That makes sense. It's good to know that Lilith is so responsible with her abilities.".

"She certainly says that.".

"Because it's true right?".

"…sure. So much free ice cream…" She mumbles with a smile. That's a little weird but maybe that's an inside joke between them. As we enter the room there are 9 people tied to chairs, with a ton of equipment on a nearby

table. Everyone has blindfolds on so I doubt they can even see us. Kind of making me regret transforming in the first place. I'm not usually a boastful person but I think I look pretty good in this. "Alright listen up. Being good captives means that you're all getting out of this in 1 piece. But not yet. In a few hours I'll return and you will all be let go." There's a strange authority in her voice that wasn't there before.

"And why would we believe that? Why not just get rid of us now?" A man with red hair asks in an angry tone. What really strikes me is that

I've heard that voice before. That's the voice of the red ranger of alpha squad. It's strange to see him in such a state. Every other time we've met he's been trying to beat me up with advanced weapons and mechs. This is a change of pace to say the least.

"Frankly you don't have to believe me. It makes no difference with what I'm going to do." I'm about to pipe up about how I'm here

as well, but then she gives me an intense look and I realise that might not be the smartest thing to do.

"And what about the shadow ranger? Can you guarantee his safety?!" The redhead yells. It's a little scary.

"He's safe. His condition is stable for now. As long as you do as your told he will be fine. But be aware that we're very willing end him should you give us a reason to. And you can't afford that, can you,?" Oh, this is weird. We're talking about murdering my brother. Although I got pretty close the last time.

"What?! Your telling me we're in here with a shadow ranger?" A brown haired man in blue asked. Do they not like shadow rangers?

"Will that be a problem?" Misty asked unfazed.

"Your damn right that's a problem you-".

"Calm down George!" The red one commands.

"But David-".

"As red ranger I am ordering you to stop! I don't like this any more than you all do, but we have bigger things to worry about." This is

actually kind of interesting. Seeing the ranger force like this and not as a far away enemy. Far away being relative in this case of course.

"I'll be going now. I trust you'll take my words to heart." Misty announces before walking to the door with me not far behind. I try to

match my footsteps to hers to better mask my presence. When we leave I let out a sigh of relief.

"I thought something really bad was about to happen." I tell her.

"It is. It's just that we'll be the ones causing it." She's so cool! "Come on, you live by the ocean don't you?"

"Yeah, I have a nice view of the ocean. I used to go out on mr Ryujis boat. Sometimes he didn't even know I took it." He was so mad about that. "I'll start brainstorming ideas on the way." As we exit the building we immediately move towards zone W. Well, Misty does while I follow. I don't really know where we are. I'm guessing that it's not too far from the fight. I'm proven right almost immediately when I see a bunch of ranger force vehicles patrolling an area half a mile from us. That's not too far for someone like

Misty. Ok, how do we get Lilith? I don't think we can just have some Kaiju pull it out. Even if aquatic Kaiju could be made and even if the submarine didn't have defences to stop something like that, the change in pressure could be seriously dangerous to the people inside. I think that's how that works, I saw

it in a film once. I think Lilith would survive that but I don't exactly want to give anyone brain damage. Maybe Misty has an ability that could help. I haven't seen all of them after all. I'll ask her when we arrive. I probably shouldn't rely on that though, a superhero is supposed to have a big moment. This is tricky. I've never dealt with a submarine. I mean, who has? Sea based travel isn't exactly common beyond zone W and we don't exactly have the money for a submarine. There are ships for other purposes that belong to people other than us but they barley get used. So at least this will be a new experience. I just hope I don't screw it up, which is a very real possibility. You'd think I'd be a little less nervous after the last fight but you'd be wrong. I don't understand how that pink fire thing works, I thought I was going to burn my entire nervous system and even with all that I basically lost. Although

opinions on that seem to be divided.

"Attention please. Zone N is under attack from 2 A class Kaiju. Please follow all evacuation procedures in a calm and orderly fashion." Thenunnervingly calm voice played over speakers throughout the city. Like every

other time though, panic quickly began to spread, at least from all that noise coming from that direction. That's the thing about this city. Kaiju attacks are incredibly common, people are used to them. That still doesn't keep panic from setting in when a giant monster with destructive powers attacks an area your in. People have limits.

"We should go help!" I yell over to Misty as she lands on the top of a white cube building.

"I doubt we have time." She responds frantically while staring at the ocean in the distance. I keep switching my gaze between the ocean and the kaiju. We don't know where the submarine is or when it left but the kaiju are right there! Surely we can't just ignore that.

"But with both of us it would be super quick. Just ZOOM! In and out! Quick fight!" I almost plead with her. The conflicted look I'm given

is honestly a little painful. Because I'm basically saying we shouldn't go and help Lilith. What kind of horrible person would say that?

"…yeah. Let's do this quick." She answers while looking away from me. Oh man. This really is horrible timing. Almost like lord star fall himself sent them. Is that something he can do? Does he even know about me? Questions for later I guess. I fly over to the attack while Misty continues to jump on air. As we get closer the fizzards notice us. Well, they notice Misty from the looks of it. Their eyes glow a molten orange as massive blasts of fire erupt from their mouths in her direction. While she is able to leap out of the way of

the first 1, the second hits her dead on.

"No!" I call out as the heat makes me close my eyes. Oh gosh this is horrible! What have I done?!

"Eat this!" A huge amount of steam erupts from the spot Misty was hit. The outline of Misty covered in some sort of icy shell falls

from the air. At the parts that the ice melts a black rock like substance can be seen underneath. I guess I was worried over nothing. That's embarrassing.

"I knew you survived that!" I lie. I'm ignored as the armor breaks away to reveal Misty completely unharmed. The fizzards look almost confused before 1 of them attempts to step on Misty. A shadow casts over her as

the massive weight of the fizzard slams down on her. I focus on the second fizzard because Misty is starting to lift the scaled foot off herself. For a brief moment I get a glimpse of a large pink flame inside the monsters chest. As soon as I blink however, the flame is gone. Was that real? Or am I just experiencing hallucinations because I over exerted myself? And the physical trauma obviously. I'd ask Louhi but I don't exactly have her on speed dial. Maybe the kaiju would know. "Sorry, but do you ha-" I'm interrupted by a massive tail swinging in my direction. I summon my own fizzard just in time to block the strike. It's amazing how fast these things can move despite being like a thousand feet tall. The only disadvantage their size seems to give them is that they often have to step on and over the white buildings of the city. The buildings are too tough to casually be walk through, although the fizzards weight clearly still strains them. If they can't they just push their legs through the spaces in between. Any flesh lost from scraping against an unyielding structure is quickly regenerated. The cleanup alone is going to be a major pain. "Sorry, I guess you don't want to chat." I say in embarrassment. My kaiju isn't quite as big as our opponent, probably about 2 thirds of the size. Making kaiju of that size or strength is pretty difficult. Oh wait! Sapphire could definitely take this thing out! I focus really hard on the wand as good guy fizzard wrestles evil fizzard like an absolute champion. "Let's do this! Sapphire!" I call out as I reach for the sky with the wand to call my strongest Kaiju. But nothing happens. "Huh? Sapphire? Come on. This is pretty important." But nothing happens. It's weird, I can tell the dragons 'mind' is in there like everyone else, but they won't come out. Or can't. Is this because I'm not using the planets energy? I must not have enough power to manifest and maintain sapphire. Well darn it. I really thought I had an instant win button there.

"Form 2: light!" Misty says as she launches a series of small ice shards into the beast. They all dig into its body before quickly starting to melt. But as soon as the wounds start to heal, another ice shard crashes into it. An unrelenting rain of high speed ice continues to rip the kaiju apart without any sign of mercy. Eventually even bones start to see the

light of day. The pained roar of the kaiju spreads across the city and makes me

cover my ears. This is honestly kind of uncomfortable.

"At least it's working." I mutter to myself to try and see the silver lining. Using my wings to avoid angry swipes from my own opponent

has been keeping my mind sharp and I'm honestly thankful for it. Because if it weren't for that I might not have noticed something very important. A mother and child were stuck in a car! And if my eyes are still working as they should, which is honestly a concern given how they change colour, they are the same people that I met after my battle with spike. What are the odds? It seems that

the car has crashed into the 1 in front of it. I'm not sure if it's a malfunction in the car or fear of the kaiju but they aren't getting out. As I

focus in on the car though I notice something even more concerning. They weren't the only ones in danger. Poking out their heads from alleys and other narrow hiding spots were several people who hadn't gotten to safety in time. Had the buildings locked down before everyone could get inside? How could something like that happen? I try and finish this quicker since now there's a more immediate danger. No time to waste summoning a super awesome dragon. I summon 2 giant rescue monkeys in order to help restrict the fizzard. As they both pull at its arms, my own fizzard digs its claws into what I assume are the enemies ribs. It Struggles and blasts fire into the air as purple blood spreads all over the road. In response I have my own fizzard breath fire into its chest. As the enemy quickly succumbs to its wounds I have another brief glimpse of the beasts pink flame. This time it's much smaller than it was before and definitely smaller than mine. Misty

has already finished hers off, encasing it in a massive block of ice. That's an oddly fitting way to go what with its flame fading away. As I look back at my own however I see something strange. A bigger flame starts to grow behind the first 1. What the heck?! That must have been hiding behind the first 1. I

couldn't see it with the minuscule amount of time I had. Or I'm just stupid. Could've been either really. As the front flame dies out the back flame fully overtakes it, followed by ripples coming from the creatures back. Even more blood oozes out as huge tentacles burst out! Red tentacles with shell like tips. They looked like they belonged to an octopus. But that doesn't make sense. Aquatic Kaiju don't exist. Could a kaiju really take on the traits of an octopus? Does it having those traits mean that it could live in underwater environments or is it still stuck on land? WHY WAS IT EVEN IN ANOTHER KAIJU?! The fizzard roars in pain as its life finally runs out and my vision goes back to normal. It feels like I've got a splitting headache. I guess that's what happens when you start seeing things your brain probably wasn't designed to see. But still, poor fizzard. That's a painful way to go. Then again, it's not like they would have been any better with me. I was literally burning them alive. It was self defence I think. I told myself that I didn't want to hurt the kaiju

but I haven't been showing it. Am I a monster?

"Move!" Misty yells as she pushes me out the way of a high speed tentacle swipe. As I stumble back on the roof we both trip over and fall. Misty lays on top of me for a second as a blush spreads on my cheek. She soon

pushes herself up and looks me in the eyes with intensity. "What the heck was that?! You can't freeze in fights like this!" I start to panic as she shouts at me, which isn't helped by how my kaiju are quickly being beaten and returned to the wand as we speak.

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! It's just…" I look to the side as the thought that I've been cruel consumes my head again.

"Listen to me." She takes a moment to calm down before continuing. "I need you at 100% for this. After this it's going to get even more difficult if we want to get Lilith back. If your not up for this then say so. I won't judge you, but I also don't want you slowing me down or getting hurt. So what's it gonna be?" It's a little hard to contemplate that with the

tentacle infested corpse bearing down on us. When a tentacle is about to slam down on us Mistys ears twitch slightly but otherwise she doesn't move a muscle. As quickly as I can I summon a yellow flower tree to catch the tentacle. With its speed and power it easily smashes through it and spreads the pollen all over the air. Luckily the automatic defence activates and Raven appears to catch the

swing. Even with all that however, Misty still doesn't move.

"Fine!" I yell with eyes closed as a hoard of random B and C class Kaiju flood out of my wand and past her. The lizards and birds and tigers all tackled the puppet like corpse. They were only 50 feet tall each, but with the various fire and lightning attacks they can dish out it's a very effective onslaught.

Misty finally gets up and looks at the battle. The corpse is somehow still able to launch fire attacks, combine that with the tentacle swipes and my kaiju are quickly being taken out.

"So you calmed down now?" She asks in an almost casual tone. I just stare at her blankly for a second.

"Not really! Honestly I'm probably more worked up than before!" I yell at her without thinking. The adrenaline mixed with being Kaiju boy really just makes me say thing, doesn't it?

"But your fighting again. That's a good sign." She gives an innocent smile while her tails sway slowly. She's acting a little bit like

Lilith now. I guess that's how best friends are. Not that I'd know.

"Screw you!" I look out to the finishing battle, most of my kaiju have been defeated and are returning. I simply send them back out again

even as I feel it tiring me. Even though Misty didn't calm me down, she at least got me focused. I need to focus on the fight. But I have been too careless lately with how I've gone about it. I should be trying to take my

enemies out more humanely. So I'll try and be more level headed. My first move should be getting those people to safety, they can't get away because of the tentacles rapid and wide reaching movements. "Please get them far away." I send out a dozen rescue monkeys to evacuate the civilians. Should have done that

from the very start but better late than never. I'm sure that's a great consolation for all those people in danger. I make sure my hoard of Kaiju keep the corpse busy and distracted with hit and run tactics. They may be a lot

weaker, but their smaller size and superior numbers means they can avoid most

dangerous strikes. Even better, while the corpse is stronger, it isn't invincible. Slashes and lightning leave visible wounds that don't heal. Although that's probably because it's already dead right? So it's not quite as

impressive. I send Raven and Naga out to deal with the tentacles, they zoom around and strike at the tentacles to keep them occupied. When I invest energy into those 2 they are some of my strongest kaiju behind sapphire. But I do still need to make good on doing this humanely. As I've done before I focus on the wand and think of the kaiju I want to create. I summon Kaiju almost as big

as the fizzards, a werewolf like creature with black fur that turns white and long on its back to look like a lab coat.its most notable feature were a number of large, green, luminescent tubes that poke out from its back. Its claws and teeth share the same colour. "I'll name you pup." Maybe giving such a scary monster a cute name is good? Pup just looks at me for a moment before charging into battle. She's actually pretty fast even with her size, ducking under a swipe even with the tubes jutting out of her back. Pups claws dig into the body of the corpse. As the bright chemicals in the tubes depletes it's sent into the enemy. Its veins glow green and if I'm right, should hit the octopus as well. I'm proven right when a beak rips its way out of the monsters nape! It screams for a moment before it calms down. Relatively speaking of course. Pup has the

ability to mix chemicals in her body using a variety of natural resources stored in her tubes. The corpse octopus is losing motor control and feeling. It should also get at least a little calmer, it deserves that much at least. Pup quickly pulls her claws out in preparation for the final strike. I swear I saw a smile there for a second. Should I be concerned with that? Whatever. "With the power imbued into me by the seven seas, I'll punish you!" with a pink aura I summon my finisher sword and a second 1 for Raven and we fly in. In a single second we hit corpse octopus 30 times at least. Well, he did, I'm a lot slower. The russian doll of a monster falls into little pieces and I quickly turn once I land. I skid slightly and hold the wand out to suck in the 2 hearts. As they enter the wand I call everyone back in and do a little wand spin. "Thanks everyone." I say earnestly before I jump and punch the air. I must have looked so cool! That was amazing! I was like a real superhero! Wait! Is that too arrogant?!

"Good jo-".

"Ah!" I jump to the side when Misty says that. How long was she next to me?! We both stare at each other awkwardly for a few seconds before she gives me a simple thumbs up. I purse my lips and give an unconfident nod.

We don't say anything as we head to zone W. In the silence I'm left wondering about the octopus. Are aquatic Kaiju really possible? No. That's stupid.
