Leaving the facility was surprisingly easy. Misty used her electrical ability to minutely affect the security systems. We were out in 5
minutes. Almost like she has experience in this sort of thing. It wasn't exactly a walk in the park, we still had to avoid being spotted while being quick about it. But eventually we made it outside.
"What's the plan?" I ask her. This is a little exciting.
"Give me a minute, I'm thinking." She says while pacing back and forth.
"Do you not have a plan?" I ask while tilting my head to the side.
"Give me a break! You're the only guy who could keep up with me on this so I've waited for you. I've been trying to plan but those guys are pretty secretive." Her tails stand on end when she gets riled up.
"Sorry!" I step back. Her demeanour changes to a more calm type of annoyed.
"No, it's fine. We just need to know where she is. We had contingencies if any of us were captured but not for her. We're improvising
here.".
"There are others?" I ask quizzically.
"We have other people who help us in our mission. Some aware and some… not." She rolls her eyes at the end for some reason. I'm assuming their other friends are among those members. "They won't be joining us though.
This is too dangerous. And it's not like we have that many." I guess that makes sense. An idea quickly strikes me and I speak without thinking.
"If we need information, why not ask there?" I say as I point to the massive spire that's visible across the city. She stares at me with a blank expression.
"While there are a lot of people there who would probably have the info we need, I think that many rangers is a bit out of our league. At
least if there's a gold there as well." I have a brief flashback to my jaw being broken and I nod.
"Sorry, that was a dumb idea.".
"Not quite." I perk up when she says that. "I think if we can create a distraction we could lure some high ranking member away. I can
fight them pretty well and with you it'll be a piece of cake." That's great news. Also now I'm hungry.
"What kind of distraction?" I ask as we walk to the edge of the cliff side.
"Your Kaiju of course." She says with a smile.
"Oh, right, yeah." I pat where my wand is supposed to be to check that's it's still there. I'm not super comfortable with the idea of using my kaiju like that but I'll do it. It makes the most sense. "Give me a second." I hastily say and run behind a corner. I pull out the wand and transform into Kaiju boy. The bright pink lights and threads wrapping around me
is still a strange experience. A good one though. I run back out and it occurs to me that me doing that probably looked like something out of one of those rom com films. That's kinda funny I guess.
"Huh. I didn't think you glowed when you did that." She says after a few seconds of staring. It's pretty uncomfortable to do this when
people know who you are but I'll try my best.
"Yeah. I transform like mariner satellite." Would she get that reference?
"Wait a second. So you don't just put some new clothes on, you do an actual transformation sequence?" She grabs my shoulders and I'm too shocked to try and get her off.
"Y-yeah. It's quicker this way." Cons on, be more confident.
"Huh, that is so weird." She finally steps back. "Ok so, your going to send some Kaiju around the city. No harm or damage or anything.
Just cause a bit of noise. I'll keep my ears peeled for someone who might know something and then we get the drop on them." She punches her right palm with
her left fist for emphasis. I raise my hand shyly.
"People don't need to know that I'm sending the kaiju out do they?" She looks at me unamused. "Sorry. I just don't want people to hate me and my kaiju more than they do.".
"It's fine I guess. People hate your guts anyway but they dont need to know about this. Alright, let's go." She leaps across the canyon like it's nothing. I remember my experience crossing it and kinda wish she was on our team. I take a deep breath and change my white feather cape into white
feather wings. I fly across the canyon and since I'm not at risk of falling to my death this time I look down willingly. It's still really cool to think this wasn't here before an S class tore the place up. Also really weird to think that Satoshi got the final blow on it when he was younger. I've heard of overachievers but that's ridiculous. I follow Misty as she leaps across the city, doing some pretty cool parkour that I would copy if I was actually
physically capable of it. I quickly start to shoot something I came up with in the hospital. Kaiju eggs. They aren't literally eggs but underdeveloped Kaiju matter that's meant to develop into full Kaiju in minutes. The concept is hardly complete yet but as long as they look dangerous then it should be fine. Hopefully that'll give me at least a little deniability. At least a little would be nice… Oh jeez this is gonna be such a mess. After a few
minutes of this we stop at the top of a radio tower. I think this might be where 'Kaiju today' is made but I'm not sure. Some of the eggs have already matured. They're basically giant moving masses of gummy matter. Yeah, these things definitely need more work, would've been cool if I could get some thunder cats from those but it'll do.
"How long do you think this will take?" I don't get an answer as she closes her eyes. Her fox ears perk up which leads me to believe that she's trying to detect things across the city with her hearing. That's so cool! Then I notice that none of her tails are glowing so this must be her regular senses. That's even cooler! I was a little hesitant when she froze those cars in ice earlier but now I'm back on the Lilith-Misty hype train!
"First deployment. Beta and epsilon teams are being sent out. They aren't the ones we need." She finally says and I see a series of
lights departing from high in the spire. Not much happens for a minute so maybe I should take the time to ask an important question.
"Sooo, are you a terrorist?" I ask to break the awkward silence. She breaks her concentration and looks at me with a blank stare.
"Yeah, I guess I am." Huh, wasn't expecting her to just admit it.
"It's not really any of my business but y'know, it would be nice to know why." I try and sound as casual as I can but I'm guessing it didn't come off like that.
"Because the current government, especially the ranger force can't do their jobs. Lilith believes she can do a better job.".
"Do you believe that?" I can appreciate a woman who knows what she wants it's just that this seems a little much.
"I think so. She's my best friend, a massive pain, but she is trustworthy when you get to know her. Besides if we do this, maybe we can actually do some good down the line." Huh. That's interesting.
"Do you not think we do good?" Not sure if I should ask that but I did.
"I won't deny that some merit can be found in the system, but not enough. At least when it comes to us. People like us are weapons Haruo, that's all most people see us as." I think for a moment about mr Ryuji.
"I guess you guys don't like where you are either." I mutter under my breath. I don't know if she heard that, but if she did she's not
responding. This is kinda awkward. "Bobby is engaging Epsilon. He probably won't last too long." It's weird that I'm aware of what's happening with my kaiju from so far away. I can even direct them on what to do. Freaky.
"That's goo-who's Bobby?" Misty suddenly looks at me confused.
"Bobby. The kaiju that's fighting epsilon and just got his arm cut off? The 1 that's regrowing said arm? That Bobby." I shuffle a little bit to face her. What's so confusing?
"Why did you name it? Why Bobby? Did you name the others?" I think she's still monitoring but I don't really ask so who's fault is it really if we fail?
"It needed a name. What was I supposed to call it? Obviously Bobby." I put on my trademark smile for Kaiju boy.
"So you name all your Kaiju? I feel like that going to become impractical the longer you do it." Oh no, she's bringing up 1 of my most
existential fears!
"That'll never happen." I say while looking away like any convincing person would.
"I just think that if your using Bobby then the idea well might already be drying up." She says as her previously confused expression
changes to a judging one. No please don't judge me!
"That will never happen." I say with more conviction than was honestly necessary.
"Right." Suddenly her ears and tails perk up. "I've got something. Alpha team is being deployed to zone E. They should be a good
start." She zooms away after she's done. I'm pretty shocked when I see her start to jump on air like a video game character. Didn't know she could do that. Neat. Wait a second. Alpha team? Those are the guys who keep trying to arrest me! This is going to be so awkward. I fly after her but it's not easy,
she's so fast. I keep getting reminded that Misty isn't just Lilith's best buddy, shes also the number 3. Might be why they get along so well. But if that's the case why do either of them give me the time of day? The plot thickens... I suddenly sense Bobby 2 engaging in combat. Alpha team has already arrived. Plus Bobby has been beaten. Not a great day for them, hope they aren't too mad.
"Woah." I mutter as I soon see Alpha teams combined mech in the distance. It's a strange experience to both see it far away and sense it in front of you. I almost lose control of my flight from how disorienting it is. Misty wastes no time saving my gloopy Kaiju from the mechs cannons. Although I'm guessing that was coincidentally given that she just delivered a powerful flying kick to the mechs side to send it stumbling. The fire and lighting
likely made it even more effective. I recall Bobby 2 back to the wand, he doesn't need any more disrespect today. As I land in front of the 100 ft tall mech I take a moment to appreciate it. It really does look like someone took a bunch of colourful toy jets and grew them before sticking them together. And I
mean that in the best way possible. If they didn't have it out for my guts I might actually tell them that. A spotlight soon shines on me from the metal giants eyes. Do I say hi? Do I just ask where Lilith is? It's occurring to me
now that I've never actually done this before. "Um, hello! How are you?!" I think they took exception to that, or least with them pointing their arm cannon at me it looks that way. I fly to the left to get out of its field of fire but it just turns to follow me! It's not even moving its legs! Its torso just spins! I hate looking at that!
"Kaiju boy! You are under arrest! Lethal force has been authorised! You have 1 chance to surrender yourself!" The voice of who I assume is the red alpha ranger plays from a speaker on the robot.
"You guys are becoming a broken record!" That's it. Smile and stay confident. Your Kaiju boy now, not Haruo. You can do this. I fly
upwards into the sky and their aim follows me. Even if the buildings can take it it's probably best for them not to be in the line of fire. After a few seconds of humming from the cannon a massive fireball is launched at me. I'm able to move to the side to avoid it but the heat is still very intense. My eyes feel so dry now. Wait. What about when it comes down?! I turn around, expecting it to fall back towards me but that's not what happened. As soon as I look at it the fireball explodes! Raven is just barley able to save me by using his body as a shield. The force still pushes us though so I have to use some of my spider silk to make a net that catches us. That was close. I rethink my mental statement when a large shadow casts over me. I look up and see a massive yellow metal foot. Oh geez. I summon several red flower trees to lift it up but it's not enough. That's when I ignite the flowers, causing a large explosion that knocks it back. Probably shouldn't have been so close for that but whatever. The mech is remarkably nimble and quick, getting its balance back in seconds. REALLY wishing I didn't have to fight this thing. But I do. And so does Misty, which she reminds me of when she traps the mech in a quickly made ice structure. We
both move to the top of a building that's just taller than its head.
"This things really annoying." Misty says in the same tone as someone on a hard video game level.
"Any ideas?" I ask as the ice starts to quickly melt. I'm guessing the mech has a heating system for this type of thing.
"These things are massively useful weapons against giant monsters, but the targeting systems and pilots mean that they can still handle us. Of course, no matter how advanced the software, the hardware still has
limits." She explain in a confident manner.
"I see… actually no I don't." No use lying.
"Either we can get in and disable the pilots or…".
"Or…?".
"We hit it so hard it falls apart!" She punches her palm.
"Either sound pretty good to me." I like it when there's options.
"Ok!" 1 of her tails glows red as she leaps towards the mechs head. The spotlight shining on us again. I summon some rescue monkeys.
"Alright troops! The people in that mech need 'rescuing'." I give them a wink and they give me a British salute. I imagine we look hilarious. In a good way of course. They all swing away and I'm hoping the rangers will forget about them until later. Instead of flying over I summon a series of random kaiju I just made up, all about 20 feet tall. Some mantis owls, some rhino gorillas and even a tiger hippo for luck. I just need to overwhelm
these guys. I send my 2 dozen kaiju at the mech and they attack it with various abilities, mainly fire but tiger hippo is going for them with the drill teeth. The mech responds accordingly as a number of turrets erupt from its shoulders to shoot at them. The bullets aren't individually effective but they still
quickly overwhelm my kaiju. I continue to summon more and more to deplete their
resources.
"Scorched scar!" Misty yells as she does a tremendous leaping uppercut to the mechs chest. The trail of fire disappears to show a
massive scar of molten metal. That was awesome!
"That's it! Deploy sword of hope!" The speaker orders. A drone flies out from each of the mechs limbs and fly into the air. Out of the
back of the red main body shoots what looks like a massive hilt for a western sword.
"Wait a second. Could it be?" I ask myself in wonder. My question is soon answered as the drones join together and merge with the hilt.
It's really happening. A building sized sword! This is the best day of my life! Or at least it would be if they didn't plan to use that on me. Still up there though. Illuminated by the many lightning fast attacks Misty deals in the time
it takes to raise the sword, small blades on the edge start to move. It's at this moment that my dreams are dashed. That's not a sword. That's a chainsaw! A single swing annihilates all my kaiju into a fine mush and I have to use a series of spider threads and gummy matter to barley stop it. The chainsaw is so powerful that it starts ripping even that, along with the road. Lots of windows start to crack. That can't be good. We've got to end this now! As Misty leaps into the air from the building across, Raven takes me into the sky. I have a massive Nage wrap around the mech to restrain it. Don't exactly want to miss. I
summon the massive sword I used the other day, but this time I try to make it as big as the chainsaw they call a sword. It's not quite as big but it'll do. Certainly need more threads for it at least. I wonder if Satoshi would like
this. He likes swords. I see a few flashes down below. Probably cameras. This is probably gonna be a shot to my reputation. Heck, it's cloudy and started drizzling, that's prime villain weather. Oh well. I dive down while Misty seemingly leaps on air again to go down, her flying kick enhanced with fire and
lightning.
"Form 13: heaven drive!".
"Super awesome brother appreciation sword!" I bring the sword down to deliver the final blow. As I strike I hear a sharp slicing sound. And with that my sword is in pieces. Raven and me land on the cracked, rain covered road as I look down at what used to be my coolest move. What happened? Did the mech have another defence?
"Y'know, that's a really impractical sword." I freeze as the voice comes from behind me. I turn as the boom from Mistys kick rings across the road. Walking towards me is 1 of the people I least wanted to see here. I step back in fear when he's a few feet away. A shadow ranger has arrived. "Well? Got anything else?" Satoshi asks from behind the visor. The digital display on his visor indicating an excited grin.
"Good! He'll know something! Take him down!" Misty yells while still fighting the mech. Oh yeah because that'll be so easy! It's ok Haruo. Calm down. He's just a person. He's just your brother.
"You heard her. Let's go." Satoshi said confidently and placed his hand on his sword, ready to draw. Would my own brother really kill me? Well he doesn't know it's me. Would that even matter?
"I-" he lunges at me for a strike but a strike from thunder cat has him retreat. A few more lightning attacks keep him on the move until he pulls out a bloody shotgun from behind him! Where was that?! Thundercats head
is blown off faster than I can even ask.
"You lot keep her busy! And stay out of this!" He suddenly yells upwards. I look back and see a giant metal hand pulling away. Huh.
That's… nice? "Now then. I've been waiting for this since September. And all I'm gonna say is that I thought there would be more." Good, if he's talking I have a second to think. He's fast and he can slice through me, plus with that shotgun I'm not safe at long range. It is SAFER though. I'll tire him out with a constant barrage. "The way they describe you on tv, I thought we were gonna get a real blood bath going." What's he talking about? "Guess we just don't know enough about you.".
"You don't know anything about me!" Everyone freezes from my unexpected emotional reaction. Oh no. That wasn't meant to be out loud! I just got really angry because of course he doesn't know me! We barley talk!
"Well then let's get to know each other." And now that he's here, he wants to kill me. The glee in his voice is unmistakable even to
someone like me.
"I doubt you're a fast learner." I say with more anger than I was expecting. I take the initiative and send out a fizzard, the 100 foot tall Kaiju trying to step on him. He easily dodges and jumps up to the beasts neck, cutting through its scaly neck for a decapitation. Next is a series of Nagas, not as strong as the original but more numerous. But each gets dodged even in the middle of the air. When he's in the centre he does a spin, it takes 4 seconds for me to realise that he must have used his sword when the snakes fall apart. I thought that air slash thing was only in anime! He laughs as he points his gun up and pulls the trigger. Satoshi is launched downwards, gravity helping him as a rescue monkey kicks him to the side before he can crash into me. He skids across the road until it literally cracks to stop him. The rain washing all the kaiju blood off of him.
"Ok! That was better! It's almost a shame I have to kill you! Your really unique!" Satoshi yells with elation while I breath heavily. The wand does most of it, but this is still tiring.
"Glad I can finally be worth the attention!" I yell back as dozens of 50 foot tall reptilian and feline kaiju manifest behind me. All I get is a slight head tilt to the side.
"This seems way more personal for you than it is for me. Can't you just get lost in the moment. It'll be done soon." I don't say anything. My answer is heard in the stampede towards him. His laugh is somehow even louder. I can't lose. I need to save her. That's the only reason this can have. Every time a kaiju is killed and recalled, I send a new 1 in, bigger and badder than the last. He just slices through them with that red blade. I eventually make a fizzard with scales that can mostly block the sword. But that barley slows him down and Satoshi presses something on his belt. "Dilation drive activated." He glows for a moment and then it rains purple. All my kaiju are in pieces as soon as the purple blur touches them. 3 Ravens push the sword away from my neck as hard as they can, with moderate success. I can't even hear the other battle at this point, and I just start crying from the stress and
frustration. When Satoshi stops glowing he presses something on his swords hilt. Fire suddenly errupts from the blade and burns the Ravens away before placing his extinguished sword in its draw position.
"Finally." I manage to say through the tears as my ace in the whole made its move. I'd stashed some decoder bugs on 1 of the kaiju he killed. I replaced their softness with muscle to make them gym bugs! They've
waited for him to sheath the red sword so that they can hold it down. They link together in a way that nothing else can so that there's no way he can pull it out! I can do this! We can win! I hold my wand out towards him and use the last of my energy to summon up a phoenix. The move that finished big turtle should do the trick. The sound of water evaporating is the only thing I can hear until
he speaks.
"Not the worst plan. But I'm not excited anymore." He pulls out the sword anyway, tearing the gym bugs apart.
"No!" I yell as I'm about to launch Phoenix. But the blood goes flying from my chest. I'm done. I'm out of energy. I can't beat him.
"That could have done it. But you need to actually hit your opponent." He stands up straight in front of me and pats my shoulder in an almost proud fashion. I barley saw him hit me. "Like so." He slowly slides the red blade into my stomach. I reach out for him but my legs give out. He much more abruptly pulls it out and turns away, letting me fall to the wet hard ground. Everything goes cold as my own brother walks away from my dying body. I
feel so horrible, physically and emotionally. I don't want to go yet. I don't want it to be so… warm? Oh, it's this again. I sit up on the wooden floor as the fireplace illuminates the cabin.
"Did I die? Is that why I'm dreaming?" I ask Louhi while she draws something on her table.
"Well that's a little depressing for a greeting." She tries to lighten the mood but I don't really change. "Sorry, these things can just be a little awkward. To answer your question, no, your not dead yet." Yet?!
"Oh geez. What am I going to do?" I pull my knees up as everything that's happened crash's down.
"Hey, it's fine. The fact that you're here is a good sign." She places down her crayons and stands up, almost tripping on her own black and purple hair. Wait… wasn't it blue last time? Wait no that's not important!
"How could this possibly be fine?! I was stabbed by my brother!" I quickly regret that outburst when I remember that this sort of has nothing to do with Louhi. She doesn't seem to mind as she crouches down in
front of me.
"Because this has given me an excuse to teach you a cool trick." She says with a wink of her sharp eyes.
"What kind of trick?" I look at the drawing she shows me. It's really bad. Like, kindergarten bad. But I'm not going to tell the witch trying to help me that.
"Why are you alive?" Wow. That certainly started strong.
"Um. I dunno, to help people?" Truth be told I have no idea. Does anyone? I feel like my issues could at least partially be explained by
that question. She just blinks in confusion for a second before shaking her head.
"No Haruo. I mean literally. Better way to phrase it would be HOW are you alive." Now I'm reminded of those times with the kaiju heart. Wonder if I could have found the answer there.
"I feel like it's going to be a bit more than biology." I say while trying to feel out the situation. It wouldn't be that simple right?
"Yep." She points to a pink circle surrounded by a blue circle on her drawing. "This is the planet. This pink bit is the voice of the planet." And she's lost me.
"I'm already confused. I thought the middle of the planet was all orange and stuff. When did it turn pink?" I feel bad when she looks slightly annoyed but this time it's hardly my fault I feel.
"It's not a physical thing. It's an imperceptible form of energy that allows life to happen. Every living thing has a flicker of the voice in them. In many religions this would be called a soul.".
"I'm sorry, souls are real?" That has a LOT of implications.
"Kinda? For the most part they just serve as batteries for that organism. Kaiju have more power than other creatures because the have
bigger batteries. When you run out of that life energy, your done. These flickers then fade away. They aren't anything compared to a planets." As she explains this she points to 2 stick figures. 1 standing and the other not.
"Ok, this is amazing, but what does that have to do with this?" I point to my stomach.
"Your wand uses your own bodies energy to function. It's extraordinarily efficient at it but your still not that strong." Yeah that checks out. "So don't you think it would be awesome if we could get you more energy?".
"Yeah that would be amazing. But how?" I tilt my head to the side.
"You've already been doing it. Haven't you been in a tight spot before? Completely exhausted. Then all of a sudden, WHAM! A sudden boost." My eyes widen as I remember those times with big turtle and Misty.
"Yeah. I could suddenly do things I shouldn't be able to. I was a lot more focused as well." Louhi simply smiles at that.
"You're a hero. And something every hero I've taught has to learn is how to use the voice of the planet. To siphon away its energy for
other uses. That way you can all fight for way longer. In your case, you'll need to learn how to draw in more power at once for more Kaiju. You've got a near endless battery, but you need a better engine." Huh?
"Engine?".
"Is that not the correct term?".
"I'm not sure actually." We both stare at each other for a moment as neither of us know the answer. I get what she means though. "So what your saying is that I can survive and fight if I draw more power?" I get back on topic.
"Yes. But you have to understand. This isn't going to heal you that much. We're just jump starting your body." Well that's terrifying.
"Ok. I'm fine with that." I lie.
"Your 1 of my favourite heroes so far!" Louhi abruptly pulls me into a hug, her talon like hands and wings making it an interesting
experience. "I just know you'll be able to beat lord star fall." That's reassuring I suppose.
"Ok. So how do I do this?" Every other time it just happened.
"Think about life in a way you can visualise. Then use that visual on yourself." I imagine it as a pink flame on my heart. "Now imagine
that visual as a thousand times stronger. Bigger. Pull it into your own. Just a drop for now. Drain what you can from the voice of the planet. Your not working with normal matter anymore, so don't try to make sense of it. Just do it." The snowstorm outside gets stronger as I pull in some embers of the colossal pink flame. It's amazing, I feel like my mind is moving faster, my body has a bit
more energy in it. It's like the other times but I actually know what's happening. "Now get back out there and do us proud, my chosen hero." Her voice echoes in the back of my head as I get off the ground. The bleeding still going but less painful. I'm now surrounded by a faint flaming pink aura and sparkles.
"Hey." Satoshi stops as my voice travels through the rain. "We aren't done yet." I stare him down as he turns around.
"Huh. Could've sworn I killed you." He doesn't sound too bothered but at this point I wouldn't expect much else. "Well then, this is a rare opportunity. I hope you enjoy this as much as I'm going to." He starts to walk over.
"Just don't blame me for what happens next." I send out a huge mantis kaiju that slashes his chest, blood spilling out. He immediately stops. A second later the mantis is sliced in 2 with purple blood spewing everywhere.
"Oh yeah. This is good. This is VERY good." He says in a content tone. At least he's finally paying attention. Full attention. "Let's have the best fight ever!" He suddenly screams before charging at me. A few spike vines have him jumping to the left and right into Nagas bate. He blocks it with his sword and naga goes down as well. His laugh is the worst part. Well actually it's the second. The actual worst part is when he nearly hits me with
a flying kick that I barley block with some string from the wand. I roll across the ground and even while I'm like this, all filled with adrenaline and pumped up with life energy, I'm still pretty sure that broke a rib. Luckily Raven is able to keep him busy while I recover. I need to summon a blue 1 to block his shotgun blasts and air slash's but that's fine. I've got energy to spare. I prove it by summoning 10 thunder cats at once, I'll zap him until there's nothing left! As they charge up though, Satoshi finally gets past all the
others and activates that glowing thing from before. Oh geez. Ok, don't think too much, just aim where you know he'll be. Right before a red blade grazes my neck, blue raven grabs Satoshi in a bear hug. It'll only take him 2 seconds to break out but that's all I need. As they glow pink the thundercats call down a
humongous Collum of lightning, hitting him dead on. Unfortunately blue raven was caught in it too but he'll at least return to the wand. "YES! Give me more! Let's run this place red together!" Satoshi continues to laugh even as he's smiling from the heat. Ok, I'm starting to get genuinely uncomfortable. So uncomfortable that I don't even notice him tapping something into his right arm. A second later another mech lands right behind him. It looks near identical to the alpha 1 but all the different colours have been replaced with purple. He hops in and the mech stands upright and looks down at me.
"Well, I guess this was inevitable." I mutter to myself as I charge up my energy. "Brother, I don't want to fight you anymore, so I'm going
to end this in a single move." I doubt he can hear me but it's more for me anyway. There isn't a single Kaiju in my arsenal that could beat that. So I'm going to make 1. A Kaiju with all my feelings on the line, something I could
only make with this energy, something that can't be mass produced. As it's azure wings unfold and it stands to meet its enemy, my new dragon waves away the pink aura to reveal its blue scales. "Sapphire." I christen it. Standing at 60 meters tall, sapphire is the strongest Kaiju I have so far, and it's the
Kaiju that's going to finally finish off my brother. As the 2 clash in a battle of titans, I feel an intense pain in my chest. Have I run out of time?! Louhi said I wouldn't be able to handle this for too long, I guess this is like
running a town's electricity through a single charging wire. But that's ok, I just need a minute more. So please, just let this end already. More tears stream down my face as the dragon rips off an arm but is slashed in the eye by a chainsaw red bade. "Sapphire! I'm leaving all my feelings to you! Burn it down! Go supernova!" I give it the last of my pink energy as it flies into the sky, the boosters on Satoshi's neck keeping it not far behind. My strongest Kaiju starts radiating heat from its body as they both ascend before finally stopping a mile into the sky. From its smooth maw erupts a massive stream of
fire that hits the mech dead on. It continues to fly through and even now I can hear his laugh. It like the sword is releasing an energy to protect it. Well, partially protect it. The once ridged metal starts to bend and melt as more
heat affects it, soon even the sword melts away. It's over. As the power fully leaves my body I fall to the ground completely unable to move. It's here that a thought occurs to me. Can Satoshi survive that? I wasn't trying to kill him. At least, I don't think I was. My question is answered as something impacts the
ground. I can tell by the boots that it's him. Did he eject or did something else happen. Well I guess it doesn't matter. No matter what the me of 2 minutes ago wanted, I'm glad he isn't dead.
"I don't know if you can hear me, but thank you." He says with a gravely voice. I manage to turn my head just enough to see that most of his suit has been burned away. He himself didn't exactly come out worse for wear, he's covered in burns! I try and summon something to protect me but I can't. Sapphire has returned to the wand and I don't have the energy to make anything. I'm already losing my transformation. "But all good things need a climax." He shakily brings the sword above me. I can't believe it, my own brother is going to kill me. I'm sorry Lilith, Misty, Allister but I couldn't do it. I try and accept things as best I can as fully turn back into Haruo. "Huh?" Satoshi asks before falling down next to me. Just before I fall unconscious I can see that he's unconscious himself. Does that count as my win? I'm going to count it as my win.
