No one expected the child to wander beyond the clan's barrier.
No one expected him to slay a fully grown Razorfang Panther with a sharpened stick.
His aura flared instinctively when the beast lunged, forming a protective film around his body. He leapt back, landed perfectly, and jabbed the stick through the creature's throat.
He dragged the corpse home, covered in blood.
The guards panicked.
Arctus knelt beside his son. "Kael… why?"
Kael scowled. "It attacked. So I hunted it."
"You're three."
"And?" Kael tilted his head. "Should I have let it escape?"
His father couldn't help smiling.
