Chapter 50 - Chapter 49: Wishing in Progress

"Is the second wish really still that simple? Are you sure you don't want to change it?" Porunga finally spoke bluntly, no longer hiding his thoughts.

At this point, he almost wanted Vegeta to make a more difficult wish. Granting a living being the ability to survive in outer space was simply too easy for him.

"No need. If it's simple, then get it done quickly. After all, there's still a third wish," Vegeta replied calmly.

Now this was how a Dragon God should operate.

Earth's Shenron might look imposing, but when it came to actually granting wishes, the difference was night and day.

"Very well. I will now grant your second wish," Porunga said. A red light flickered once more in his eyes.

Boundless wish power surged forth again, transforming into a miraculous force that fundamentally altered Vegeta's body.

Vegeta frowned slightly, feeling the change immediately.

"The activity of my cells feels different. One ability alone shouldn't cause such a drastic reaction… should it?"

Porunga nodded, as if this were obvious. "That is only natural. The ability to survive in outer space is too singular on its own, so I reinforced your cellular structure accordingly.

Your body now possesses far stronger self-repair capabilities—severed limbs can regenerate to a certain extent."

He continued, "In the process of strengthening your cells, I also indirectly expanded your latent potential. The increase isn't extreme, but your overall strength should already be higher than before."

Survival in space. Enhanced regeneration. Increased potential. A direct boost to his base strength.

How many wishes did that save in one go?!

Vegeta had originally considered whether to wish for something like Majin Buu's regeneration, but now it was clearly unnecessary.

This was a lower-spec version, but more than sufficient.

More importantly, chasing something like Buu's body might have altered his very nature. Becoming a Majin instead of a Saiyan was not an acceptable outcome.

"You've solved several major concerns for me at once," Vegeta said. "That makes things much clearer."

For a moment, he even suspected Porunga could read his thoughts.

"I merely strengthened your wish within permissible limits," Porunga replied.

"Now, state your third wish. This time, please refrain from making it another overly simple one."

Vegeta fell silent.

This third wish required careful consideration.

Originally, there were many things he wanted, but after Porunga's generous 'optimizations,' the list had grown much shorter.

Time passed. Even Porunga urged him again.

Finally, Vegeta looked up, his eyes steady.

"%¥#@&*¥%… (My third wish is for me, and my future family and descendants, to be immortal and free from all illness.)"

Immortality. Freedom from disease.

A dream countless transmigrators chased.

In the Dragon Ball world, no matter how strong one became, escaping birth, aging, sickness, and death was always difficult. Even gods were not entirely exempt.

Porunga fell silent.

This wish was on a completely different level from the first two.

For the first time, doubt appeared on the dragon's massive face.

After a long pause, Vegeta frowned. "What? Can't it be granted?"

Cold sweat rolled down Porunga's face before he finally answered, "If this wish were only for you, it could be granted. However, there is a condition you must understand."

"Once you gain true immortality, your body will be altered to the extent that you will lose the ability to procreate.

As for your future spouse, they may be influenced by you, gaining partial agelessness and immunity to illness—but they cannot become truly immortal unless a separate wish is made."

Vegeta immediately understood.

True immortality came at the cost of reproduction.

Silence followed.

"Do you still wish to proceed?" Porunga asked.

After a long moment, Vegeta's expression changed slightly. An idea struck him, and the corner of his mouth lifted.

"What if the wish is changed to eternal youth instead?" Vegeta asked.

"Would I still lose the ability to procreate? And if the wish preserves that ability, can my future family—and even my children—inherit this eternal youth?"

Not immortality, but eternal youth.

A long lifespan, without freezing his bloodline.

Porunga considered this carefully before replying, "In that case, it is possible. However, eternal youth will not last forever—perhaps several hundred to a thousand years at most."

He continued, "This effect would be bound to you. Your future spouse would receive full eternal youth. However, your children would inherit only half of this effect, and the next generation even less."

That was still absurdly powerful.

Three or four generations enjoying extended youth?

This already far exceeded Vegeta's minimum expectations.

"That's fine. Grant it," Vegeta said decisively.

"Very well."

Red light blazed in Porunga's eyes once more.

Wish power descended again, deeply reshaping Vegeta—without altering his fundamental nature as a Saiyan.

In just a few seconds, Vegeta clearly sensed the change.

A new instinctive ability formed within him.

He could bestow eternal youth upon women he had relations with—freely choosing whether to grant or revoke it. There was no limit to the number.

Porunga truly lived up to his reputation.

He never disappointed.
