North Kai's Planet.
After being struck by Vegeta's mental backlash, North Kai lost his balance and tumbled to the ground, his face turning a rather unhealthy shade of purple.
"This shouldn't be happening… Vegeta should've agreed. Didn't he say earlier that he'd give two wishes…?" North Kai muttered, utterly confused.
Yamcha and Tien Shinhan hurried over to help him up.
In some respects, they were indeed clever, but at times they could be stubbornly single-minded and completely miss the point.
Piccolo, however, wasn't surprised in the slightest.
He crossed his arms and sneered, "You should be glad Vegeta has no way of coming here. Otherwise, North Kai, you'd probably be getting beaten half to death right now."
"Huh?!" North Kai froze, his head filling with question marks.
"Piccolo, what do you mean by that?" Yamcha asked, equally confused.
"What else could I mean?" Piccolo replied coldly.
"You think you're clever—trying to use empty promises to squeeze benefits out of others while treating them like idiots. If someone tried that on me, I'd refuse without hesitation. So why do you think Vegeta would agree?"
He found it ridiculous that something so obvious even needed explaining.
At this moment, Piccolo didn't resent Vegeta for rejecting the exchange at all. On the contrary, he felt that he and Vegeta were the same kind of person.
Tien Shinhan suddenly slapped his forehead. "I was being stupid. I didn't even notice that. As expected of you, Piccolo—you saw the problem immediately."
"Uh… is it really that serious?" Yamcha still didn't quite get it.
Chiaotzu, standing beside him, rolled his eyes silently. He had already understood.
Tien Shinhan continued, "It's actually very simple. If Lord North Kai had said that once Earth's Dragon Balls were restored,
Vegeta would immediately get a wish in return, he might have considered it. At least that would be a fair exchange."
"But saying he could use them a year later? That's absurd."
"First, Namek's Dragon Balls can grant three wishes every 130 days. Vegeta has no reason to go out of his way to Earth.
Second, if Vegeta really wanted to use Earth's Dragon Balls, who here could stop him? He's not a saint, and he has overwhelming strength."
Only then did Yamcha finally understand.
North Kai also had a sudden realization, his face flushing red with embarrassment. No wonder Vegeta had told him to get lost.
"Let's just hope Vegeta doesn't summon the Dragon Balls again after 130 days," Piccolo said coldly as he turned away.

After telling North Kai to get lost, Vegeta took several deep breaths to calm himself down.
His sudden transformation earlier had startled the distant Namekians, as well as Krillin, Gohan, and Bulma. None of them knew what had just happened in the darkness.
Even Porunga himself had been startled by Vegeta's sudden surge of power. Cold sweat rolled down the dragon's massive face.
If Porunga hadn't known that Vegeta was shouting at North Kai in the afterlife—and not at him—this would've been extremely awkward.
"Um… Respected Super Saiyan, sir," Porunga said carefully, scratching his cheek with a claw. "May I… grant your wish now?"
Vegeta finally snapped back to reality.
After organizing his thoughts and slowing his speech, he spoke his first wish in the Namekian language.
"@#%&*@#… (My first wish: let my body develop again, increasing my height by twenty centimeters in the most natural and perfectly coordinated way possible, without changing my essence, and without anyone being able to perceive that my height was increased by a wish.)"
Porunga immediately broke into a sweat.
As the Dragon God of Namek, he had heard countless strange wishes over the years—but this was, without question, the most unexpected one.
This Saiyan… wanted to use a precious wish just to grow taller.
From Porunga's perspective, Vegeta's body was already perfectly proportioned and balanced. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Of course, he only thought that internally.
The wish itself was trivially easy.
"The simpler the wish, the easier it is to grant," Porunga said. "This wish poses no difficulty—"
"Just do it. Don't repeat it," Vegeta interrupted sharply.
With Porunga's voice, the entire planet would hear it if he kept talking.
Didn't he care about Vegeta's reputation?
Was wanting a reasonable height increase really such a crime?!
"…Understood," Porunga said quickly, making an OK gesture.
In the next moment, a crimson glow lit up his eyes. Immense wish-energy surged forward and enveloped Vegeta's body.
Golden light bloomed around him, almost like the start of a Super Saiyan transformation.
When the light faded, Vegeta felt his field of vision widen.
The world looked… different.
His height had finally—damn it—surpassed 180 centimeters. No, it was even more than that. At least 185 centimeters.
A high-spec male god.
And it wasn't just his height.
His hairstyle subtly changed, appearing fuller and more refined. More importantly, his physical condition had clearly improved as well.
Was this a bonus?
"Because your first wish was extremely simple," Porunga explained.
"I reinforced your physical endurance as a supplementary benefit. It's roughly twice what it was before. That's the absolute limit."
Vegeta's eyes lit up.
"Good. Thank you," he said with satisfaction. "Then I'll state my second wish."
Porunga truly hadn't disappointed him.
This single wish alone was worth more than three wishes from Earth's Shenron.
"%￥&&￥*&… (My second wish: grant me the ability to survive in outer space—without changing my essence.)"
The golden dragon fell silent, listening intently.
