Chapter 1 - chapter 1

This morning, I—Katalin—stood in front of my new school with a heart full of mixed feelings. Yes… I have changed schools again, and this time, like every time before, the pressure was swirling around in my head. I sighed deeply before deciding to step inside.

"section F…" I murmured softly as I picked up my class schedule to check. This is it, my new classroom. It is rumored throughout the school that this room only contains delinquents. It is not surprising because I know my own nature well. Though I am a girl, I am not the type to let anyone trample over me easily.

I walked along the signs until I stopped in front of a certain classroom. There, three boys were talking loudly in front of the door. Judging from their behavior—it's definitely section F.

I took a deep breath and decided to step inside.

"Um… hi, I'm the new kid. Is section F?"

As soon as my voice ended, one of them turned to look at me, then burst out laughing.

"Hey, look! A new kid has popped up!"

Another guy turned to speak to his friend beside him, "The teacher didn't say anything about a new kid coming to our room, right, Julian?"

The name called made the sharp-eyed guy in the middle stare at me directly. He had a sharp face with oddly colored red hair, and a smile at the corner of his mouth that seemed more mocking than welcoming.

"Hey, newcomer," he—Julian—said in a flat tone but with a hint of sarcasm, "Beat it, this isn't a place for you."

I tightened my lips, my anger spiking instantly, but I had to suppress it. I had promised myself not to stir up trouble on the first day. I rolled my eyes slightly and turned to walk out as if I hadn't heard what he said.

"Ugh… what a ridiculous room," I complained inwardly before trying to wander off to find another room, hoping that maybe that wasn't really mine.

Until…

Ding dong! The bell rang for class.

My heart nearly dropped. I didn't know where to go now. In the end, I had to decide to run back to the original classroom reluctantly.

I sprinted until I was slightly breathless before pushing the door open. As soon as I stepped in, I was met with the look of amusement mixed with mockery from someone… the guy who had just told me to go elsewhere—he smiled at the corner of his mouth as if he was having fun.

"New kid, come here," the teacher called. I walked up to the front of the class, my heart still pounding from running.

"Please introduce yourself to your classmates," the teacher said politely.

I took a deep breath before speaking briefly.

"Hi, my name is Katalin. I just moved here, nice to meet you all."

Before I could sit back down, a voice rang out from behind me.

"Wait a minute, teacher!"

I turned to see Julian, the same guy, standing up straight. His gaze was fixed on me as if I was a problem.

"Why is this girl in our class? Isn't this room only for guys?"

A small commotion erupted in the classroom, and everyone turned to look at me.

But the teacher kept a straight face and replied shortly, "That's none of your business. Sit down!"

The teacher's stern voice silenced the class. I, standing at the front, could barely hold back a laugh—finally, I smiled and playfully stuck my tongue out at him.

Julian simply rolled his eyes before sitting down as if he didn't want to continue the argument.

"All right, Katalin, please take the empty seat at the front."

That seat was right in front of Julian. I walked over to sit down, feeling the cunning gaze from behind that still wouldn't let go of me.
