"Good morning," Cynthia gestured to the lounge chair beside her. There was a table between the chairs; a tray with a small plate of scones and a cup of honey lemon tea, covered in a transparent cloche, was waiting for Eugene there. "Your refreshment."
"Thank you," Eugene took a seat while scratching his cheek in embarrassment. Twice he visited this house, and on both times, he acted like a lazy bum who did nothing but sleep and lie around in his in-laws' place. "I'm sorry for sleeping early last night."
"Is that even something to be sorry about?" Cynthia asked nonchalantly.
Eugene smiled wryly. "Just feels impolite ."
"Why? This is your home too."
Eugene widened his eyes, and Cynthia just smiled without saying anything else, gesturing toward the covered tray. Opening the cloche, he cleared his throat awkwardly. "I'm not...usually this idle."
"That's because you usually do everything yourself," Cynthia replied lightly. "We have assistants here, so you can relax a little."
