A luscious forest, a lonely manor, a candlelit basement, a group of survivors that number very little (5 to be exact). Their crowded around a table with a large map draped over it. The first person to speak up is wearing a tattered tracksuit which is half red half blue like a magnet, Magnetica the attraction immortal. He speaks in a forced demanding tone as he points to a large city on the map "We need to get to the city if we want any chance of getting to the last country untouched by the zombies."
"So we're finally going to the sanctuary?" Asks a tall woman covered in scars and with a prosthetic leg.
"Not specifically the sanctuary but it is one of the three areas capable of evacuating all of us to England." He replies with a stern glare in her direction.
"How about we focus on getting supplies we can't survive out there unless we're stocked up on food, water and medical supplies." Says a smaller, frail boy with an uncharacteristic deep voice.
The group leaves the basement 3 of them taking weapons whilst the others take books and the map putting them into the frail boys bag which somehow fits everything and doesn't grow at all. The scarred woman leads the group upstairs and carefully towards the pantry which is filled with canned food and bottled water. The group grabs as much as possible and again places it into the frail boys bag which still doesn't grow. Suddenly a jittering man burst in with a grin that goes from ear to ear. "I c-cracked the v-v-vault. We've g-got more w-w-weapons now and a guy called S-S-Steve." The man stutters as he reveals a shirtless man pointing a glock to Magnetica's head.
"For fuck sake Doctor you bring us a shirtless guy from the vault who's gonna take more of our supplies and he's clearly too weak to pull the trigger." The scarred woman says as she takes the gun from Steve's hand.
"Calm down Vetran we need to save as many people as possible no matter how weak minded they are. Not everyone can be a super." Magnetica says as he inspects Steve. He spots two scars under his chest but no further injuries. "And judging on the fact he could afford gender affirmation surgery and own this manor. We'll get a pretty penny for saving him." Magnetica continues as he lifts his hand causing a small vault to fly through a bunch of mouldy loafs of bread to his hand.
The group which now numbers 7 now Steve and Doctor have joined the overs head to the vault where they find a load of guns and tinned food alongside tanks of water.
"Well I'll be damned, Mini open the infinibag. We're supplied for at least a year with these stuff." Magnetica says and the scrawny boy opens his bag wide ready to take all of the supplies and weapons in the vault.
The group goes to the entrance of the manor with 4 gripping weapons, 2 standing in the back and Magnetica leading the group with his hands outstretched infront of him. The doors fly open and the group goes out into the surrounding forest. Luscious green trees fermented on rotting bodies that were too mangled to zombify. The stench is nauseating as shown when Steve vomits behind a tree.
"Revolting, try to hold it in next time." Says the sophisticated voice of a woman with a Japanese accent as she speeds up to stand alongside Magnetica.
"Suck it up Kitsune. Its just a bit of barf." Vetran replies as she slaps Kitsune on the back.
"Don't touch me with your filthy hands it ruins my kimono." She replies as one of the nine tails behind her wipes the part where Vetran slapped.
"Shut up everyone, we're being hunted by something." Mini says with an exasperated sigh.
"Vetran go protect Steve. Kitsune take Vetrans spot in the formation." Magnetica says quietly as he stops the group and looks around.
The group stays in position for a few minutes before they decide to set up camp for the night. Everyone chooses a tent partner and 3 tents are set up. Magnetica agrees to take first watch and swap with Vetran after 4 hours. They quickly set up for dinner with everyone gathered in a circle holding their weapons. After a few minutes conversation starts up.
"So who are you all exactly?" Steve asks as he looks around finally calm.
"A group of ragtag survivors, and you're lucky cause we're elites." Magnetica replies with a smirk.
"I meant names."
"Oh, I'm Magnetica, thats Vetran, you've met Doctor, Mini is the guy with the infinibag, Kitsune is the posh Japanese lady, and thats badaboom." Magnetica says pointing everyone out and introducing them.
"Badaboom?" Steve says in confusion.
"Badaboom." He says as he points at a tree causing it to explode. A bunch of debris flies towards the group but gets repelled by Magnetica at the last second.
"Be more careful you could have injured one of us." Vetran says with a chuckle.
After they all eat the group gets ready to sleep and goes to their tents leaving Magnetica to watch the perimeter for any threats. It's silent and leaves him to his thoughts. He thinks of a time before the apocalypse with his old hero team "the immortals". Back to when Toon first joined and everyone was in the same room for the first time. He remembered it so vividly its as if he was actually there again. Much to his suprise Mini sits next to him with a warm smile.
"You're remembering them aren't you." He says innocently.
"How could you tell?"
"You've got that looks in your eyes." He says with a chuckle "can you tell me about them?"
"Alright this was the first time the entire time was in one room. It was when Toon joined the team and it was the biggest argument you'd ever have seen."
