Everyone looked at the two Isaacs with amazement. Everyone except for Tahani who looked like she was watching a scene of a movie she'd seen one too many times.
Isaac pulled two pistols from his holsters, something Andrei hadn't realized he had on his person until now.
"Among other things," he said casually.
His copy did the same. Tahani glanced at the younger cadets behind them. "Keep your formation and don't go chasing them. Stay put and you won't die."
Her tone was blunt, leaving no room for coddling or sympathy—which made sense considering the creatures were already moving.
Their bodies remained low to the ground as they scattered through the clearing, noses twitching rapidly as they searched for the strongest scents. Then one screeched, and suddenly, they were charging.
"Here they come!" Eidan shouted.
Tahani rolled her eyes. "Way to state the obvious."
