"Come on not that weak brat again." Someone said from the crowd of students who were clustered at particular spot. It seemed like they were being entertained by something or someone.
"Doesn't he ever get tired of these bullies." Another person said with pure disgust.
"Probably he loves being taunted even on the last day of school." Another comment buzzed in.
Two students were obviously fighting except that it didn't seem like a fair fight because a gang was up against another boy. They were taller and muscular than he was but even then he seemed to be grinning the entire time they beat him.
"Such a creepy freak!! I guess you want to see your maker today." A boy with dark brown hair exclaimed as he threw a red sizzling energy at the boy who couldn't do anything much but accept the attack like a helpless stray dog.
"Okay that's enough. You don't want to end up in the military's custody just because of a no body. You can't kill him, he's already dead." One of the boys said dragging the other one out.
"Yeah. Better run you suckers. That's the best you can do." The beaten boy said as he spat out blood from his mouth.
"Is he crazy or what!?" Someone blurted out. The boy who had just attacked made a sharp U turn and slammed his fist against the boy's head. The sound of bones breaking could be heard.
"Damn idiot. You are just a weak hassle that has a half baked mouth hole." The boy cursed and left.
The crowd slowly reduced and soon the boy was left sitting on the floor in the pool of his blood. Teachers were busy having their talks with parents so no one was able to stop the commotion from getting worse.
The boy was weak just as everyone had said. This was earth but it had slowly transformed into a world of abilities and monsters. Most people gained their abilities at early teens or late teens but he proved to be different.
Zero was born without an ability and even though he wasn't the first, it was rare to see one of such predicament. Because of this people looked at him as less of a human than others. That was how the world worked now.
Everything revolved around one's ability. It determined the respect to be earned and the kind of work to do. Schools had advanced to begin to teach abilities and the era of science and technology was slowly fading away.
Zero was of course aware of his predicament. He knew how useless he was and because of that he did his best to keep to himself but the bullies seemed to have fun taunting him.
What he did today was only one of many others he had done but the only difference was that there was no one to separate them early enough.
He slowly got up from the floor and began to pack his books into his bag. Once he was done he looked at his blood soaked uniform and sighed lightly.
"Tansle is going to shout again. Damn."
He walked towards the gate went back home. Most people stared at him strangely as he walked past them. They even made sure to give themselves at least 5 metres gap away from him. His uniform was completely soaked with blood and people feared that he may have killed someone.
"Tsk..."
He got to his house. He was the only child of his late parents and now his parents properties were now in the hands of his uncle, Fred.
Although Fred fed him,he treated him like trash . Always tossing him around the house and beating him up for simple mistakes.
For all he knew his parents were ability users and his mom died giving birth to him while his dad was killed by a monster during Hunts.
He opened the door and bumped right into a huge man and fell back to the floor. The man gave him a death glare.
"And what the hell do you think you are doing crouched on the ground in that bloody soaked cloth." The man barked in anger.
Zero stared at the ground and gave a mute answer. He didn't dare look up to his Uncle Fred.
Fred grabbed him by the collar of his uniform and swung him to smash against the wall inside while he shut the door.
"I asked a question. You should be polite enough to answer me!" Fred barked. Zero looked at him and sighed lightly.
"I got into a fight." He confessed lightly. Fred squeezed his collar tightly and moved his left hand.
Suddenly, Zero was floating up in the air. He tried to fight himself free but he wasn't strong enough to do that. His uncle was a level 15 and with Wind as his ability.
"How many times have I told you to stop being a hassle in my ass?! You jerk you are the reason your parents died even though they were good for nothing fools." Fred blurted out carelessly.
Zero struggled harder but the grip on him seemed to tighten with each attempt. He simply stopped struggling and began to listen to his uncle.
THUD!!!
He landed on the ground and Fred walked past him while staring at him in disgust.
"Go clean up the house. I'm expecting visitors tomorrow." Fred ordered and went into his room for his routine nap.
Zero sat on the ground and stared at Fred with anger. His heart began to pound fast. His adrenaline was pumping faster than normal and there was a rush of excitement that was feeling at the moment.
Just then he stood up and walked into the kitchen. His eyes scanning the layout like he was expecting something to be waiting for him. Then his eyes came upon a short knife which was sharpened about two weeks ago. His eyes glinted sharply.
"Kill him."
"Kill him."
"Kill him."
Zero was sure he was hearing voices speaking to him from within his head. He didn't have the luxury to think straight. All he could think of now was the burning excitement he was feeling deep inside him.
With pure adrenaline,he kicked the door to his uncle's room open and quickly rushed in and stabbed him on the chest.
"Grghh!!!" Fred spat out blood violently. His eyes widened in shock as he saw Zero standing next to him with a knife in his hand.
"I always knew you were a monster, you devil. "
Zero kept quiet, savouring the scent of the blood and the energy that was flowing through his body. His heart continued to beat fast and suddenly he began to stab carelessly into the heart of the man laying before him until...

Zero could see blue holograms floating before him. The entire excitement he had felt a moment ago vanished and was replaced with curiosity.
