Aurora's pov
"..Right now i know we're all confused and scared, afraid of when they'll strike next. I'm scared too and I know we can't rely on the government to help us because whether we say it or not, we all know the government has a hand in this purple Lagoon mess. Don't worry, I'm not going to rest till I uncover the truth and free the people of Lagos from this chaos. You can also play a part in my fight by remaining indoors for now, contact your families who are not in Lagos with you and if possible move out of Lagos for the meantime. Don't forget to wear your nose masks cause we never know when they will release another toxin. Please Stay safe my loves"
I sighed and ended the live video that I was streaming. I was currently in my room doing a live video to inform the poor masses about what's going on, the more informed they're about the purple Lagoon, the better for them.
I slumped on my bed and grabbed my second phone to check if Mike had replied yet. He still hasn't cracked that file i gave him last night
"Gosh I'm so tired, all these secrets and killings for what exactly? For money, power? I really don't understand some people" i muttered angrily to myself
My phone rang and sprang up
"Amir? Why's he calling me" i asked checking the caller id
"Hey Amir what's up?" I picked the call
"Aurora have you seen the news?" His voice sounded anxious
"Um no why? Did something happen?" I asked standing up
"Oh men Aurora it's your dad..." He sounded like he was crying
Ahhh what the hell is happening?!
"What happened to my dad??" I said not really concerned
"He got arrested! They're taking him to jail..."
"Wait hold up" i think I heard wrong "who got arrested and why?! In fact where are you now? I'm coming there" i rapped out
"I'm in Abuja, we came to see the president for something urgent and he got the governor arrested. I don't know what else to do, they've refused to grant him bail...." He was now panting
I just mute. A part of me was delighted with the news and another part of me was scared for my father
"Aurora please you need to come to Abuja and help him" Amir begged
"I...i can't help him, there's nothing I can do. He's made his bed so he must lie on it. Goodbye" i quickly ended the call before he could speak
"Oh God" i held my dizzy head "he deserves it"
"Aurora!"
Mirabel screamed barging into my room like a crazy woman
"What?!" I snapped
"Have you heard the news?!" She bounced excitedly
"About my dad?" I rubbed my throbbing head
"Yeah! He's getting impeached..." Mirabel smiled and suddenly dragged me to the living room where Aron was sitting down while watching the news. I ignored the "sore guy" in the room and focused my attention on what the news lady was saying

"Isn't it great?! Gosh God's on our side so is the president" Mirabel jumped joyfully
"This is too good to be true" i muttered
"Believe it baby, this is reality. The oracle is going down" she smiled
I just kept quiet, turns out there's actually some hint of humanity in the government and here I thought the president was part of the oracle.
"Aurora do you know what this means?" She grabbed me
"What?"
"I'm not in danger anymore and thanks to the president, the members of the oracle will soon be fished out. And I have a great idea, we can go over to the president and tell him everything we know" she said
"I don't know..." I trailed off
"Aurora there's no time to loose, we need to act now"
"Mirabel doesn't it seem strange to you? Everything is happening so soon, i don't think the oracle will just go down easily like that. I think we should lay low for now and see what happens, besides don't forget we still have the purple Lagoon to worry about. These terrorists are powerful and if we let the president know of what we've discovered, they may target him and figure out the location to the virus. I can't risk that"
"Hmmmm you're right, sorry i just got too excited"
"It's fine. At least we know the president is on our side, i just pray nothing bad happens" i rubbed my chin
"Everything will be okay" she smiled "have you cracked the file yet?"
I shook my head
"It's fine, we're seeing progress so I'm hopeful we'll defeat both the oracle and the purple Lagoon" she smiled
I just smiled back
"Anyway lemme go and prepare breakfast, later dear" she patted my back and headed for the kitchen
I was left alone with Aron who was still staring at the tv, as much as I hated talking to him i couldn't help but walk over to him. I sat down close to him and just kept quiet
"Hey" we both said at the same time
"You go first" we both said again
"Um" we both chorused again
We both chuckled
"I'm sorry" he said rubbing his neck
"It's fine" i said admiring the floor
"I really didn't mean to hurt you or get on your bad side, i just have alot going on and I'm tired of you trying to help me. It makes me feel weak" he said looking at me
"I understand, i can be overbearing sometimes. I was just looking out for you and I just want to be there for you" i said sadly "but I guess I went beyond my limit and I apologise for that"
"No don't apologise, i was the jerk. I shouldn't have done that"

"Why don't you want to regain your memories?" I lifted my face to study him
"You wouldn't understand if I told you" he looked away
"I will try" i said sadly
"I don't want to talk about it and I'm really hoping you can just let it go"
I nodded. Guess he didn't trust me
"Fine. Sorry for disturbing you" i said with a pathetic weak voice and stood up

"I want to make it up to you..." He stood up and came closer "you've been so kind to me even though you know nothing about me, it's rare to see people like you"
"I am my mother's daughter, she taught me that no one is really a stranger, you just need to know them. Well excluding serial killers and freaks" i joked
"Nice" he chuckled "so um...will you go out with me for lunch today.... just the two of us"
I froze, was he asking me out on a date?
"It's just lunch but you don't have to say yes....um but..." He paused thinking of the next thing to say
Seeing him confused like this just made me smile. Men will be men when it comes to women
"Just lunch, okay I'll come." I smirked
"Great" he said excitedly "it's not really to a restaurant, I'll be taking you somewhere special. I place i remembered"
"Okay. You'll be cooking?"
"Yeah"
"Then I'm definitely coming with extra spoon, your cooking is the best"
We both chuckled
"I'll see you then at um 6pm?"
"6pm got it. Should I wear something nice or simple?" I walked closer to him
"Surprise me" he whispered sending shivers down my spine
"I see" i giggled "no problem, be prepared to have your mind blown"
"I better wear a helmet before you blow my blank mind away" he chuckled
"Lol 😂 better. I have to go do something now" i smiled
"Kk. I better start cooking for our date...i mean lunch"
"Kk" i smiled and turned to walk away
"Aura" he called out
"Mmm?" I turned
"Thanks for giving me another chance, i really hope we get to know eachother more" he said looking seriously at me
"Same here" i smiled and then rushed towards my room knowing fully well he was still looking at me
Maybe i was wrong about Aron, maybe he was just a guy trying to run from an abusive past and if not remembering his memory made him happy then so be it
