Jude's POV
Kids I'm going to the grocery store ''mom said as she put on her outing shoes''.
What? but it's so dark outside and I don't think you will get back home on time if the rain starts. ''Tobi said in a worried tone''. And you also did not have anything to eat for dinner '' he added''.
Yeah ,now that I think about it ,you never join us to eat anything, even when we go to a restaurant. Why is that mom? ''I asked out of curiosity''
I just...um I'm just.....not usually.....hungry? ''she stammered through the sentence''.
well okay then, are you sure you will be fine under this weather though? '' I asked a bit unsure''.
it's okay, mom can handle anything ,''she assured us''.
After she left the house ,we just watched her until we couldn't see her anymore as she continued walking in the dark ,lonely street which made us more worried.
are you sure it was right for us to let mom go out on such a bad weather? ''Tobi asked with a very worried look on his face''.
it's fine, remember mom is a strong woman ''I assured Tobi while patting his back''.
alright ''he said still feeling a bit uneasy''.
that's the spirit! now come on ,let's go and finish our game. '' I said as I dragged Tobi back to the living room''.
He then followed me back to the living room to continue our game with Mike .After that , it's been like four hours since mom left for grocery shopping and she still isn't back yet ,making everyone at home worry even more than before.
Why isn't mom back yet? she does not usually take this long for grocery shopping. '' Tobi said with a more worried tone''.
calm down guys, just because she's running late does not mean anything bad happened .
what do you mean by that ? she left since 6pm and this is 10:12 pm right now and you're telling me she is just running a little late? ''Tobi pointed out''.
But it is true though ,she never takes this long for grocery shopping.'' I thought to myself while sitting on the couch while Sofia was on the mat at the center of the living room looking like she saw something she was not suppose to see. And before I could approach her we suddenly heard the the house phone ring.
RING! RING! RING!!
I'll get it .'' Then I turned over to answer the phone ''.
Once I picked up the call, the caller sounded as if it was eating something ,and before I could ask any questions ,the power in our house went out leaving us in the darkness .
it's dark ,it's very dark !!! ''Tobi shouted in fear''.
calm down I'll turn on a torch, '' Mike said as he picked up his phone from the counter and turned on the flashlight.
I'm scared ''Sofia cried while hugging Tobi''.
It's just because of the bad weather ,anyways.....
DING DONG!
DING DONG!
the doorbell interrupted.
see!, mom is already home ,'' Mike said while walking towards the front door''.
we heard him open the door but after that ,no voices were heard . Surely I knew ,something must have happened .We decided to wait a little but seconds turned to minutes and minutes turned to nearly an hour and yet ,no one entered the living room . I know both Tobi and Sofia are scared to the bone right now so I decided to check the front door. I slowly stood up from the couch and approached the front door and once I there ,I began to shake in fear .And just in case ,I began calling Mike's name.
Mike! you know this isn't funny right? where are you ? I know you love pranking people but this is really not the right time, '' I warned as I approached the door nob''.
I stood there for some time before I built up the courage to finally open the door and once I opened it ,there was so much wind and darkness that that I couldn't even hear or see anything, and sometimes as the thunder roared and the lightening shot at different places ,I noticed the ground was covered with a weird hue of color red .I kept looking at the ground and murmured ,
Is that red?
and I immediately got an answer to that question as I looked at an unfamiliar scarecrow made out of hay just beside our front door which had Mike's head on top of it like it were some kind if sacrifice . I was paralyzed on the spot and that got me distracted from noticing the dark strange entity at my front that was about to attack me .
JUDE ! WATCH OUT!! ''Tobi yelled at my back ''.
what ?! ''as I shook out of the shock ''.
And before I could react to what was in front of me, I was pushed away as blood sprayed all over my face as the dark entity used its claws to slice Tobi in half . I couldn't believe my eyes ,I thought this was all a dream but unfortunately, it's not.
As the black entity wanted to attack again ,I quickly banged the door shut as fast as I could and ran back inside .Once I got back into the house, I saw Sofia crying and crying non stop in the living room. So she's been here the whole time? I thought she was already dead, and the thought of me even thinking that just made me angry.
Juuddee!!!!, ''she sobbed'' ,I'm scared.....I'm very scared Jude , ''she said as she kept crying and crying making me more and more angry for reasons I do not know why''.
WOULD YOU SHUT THE HELL UP!!!! ''I yelled at her''. Do you know what I just witnessed? And now you're telling me you're scared when you saw nothing.
without waiting for a reply ,I pushed her away and went upstairs and locked the door. In there ,I was just trying to grasp everything because it all seemed unreal. With my sister banging om my door ,crying non stop, I just felt more and more sick until all of a sudden, everywhere turned red in my room, the wind was so strong that I wondered how the roof was still there.
not containing everything in my head ,I ran out of my room immediately and Sofia was no longer at my front door. Not a single word was heard from her.
I decided to check on her downstairs ,but, as I reached half of the stairs, I heard very unfamiliar voices.
someone is here, ''I whispered to myself in a terrified tone''.
I was too afraid to go downstairs but as I heard the word 'baby' ,I instantly knew someone else was inside the house ,and without thinking, I zoomed down the stairs and saw a sight of what I never thought I would ever see in my life.
