Chapter 20 - Finding Alexis

Alfred's POV

I let out a frustrated groan as I stood before the guards.

"So you all are telling me you didn't see anyone suspicious running into the park, in wolf or human form?"

"No, Alpha. We've been guarding here all day and haven't set my eyes on such." The first guard said.

"You all are so incompetent! foolish and lazy. In fact, from henceforth, you all stripped off your title as the pack guards." I roared in anger.

"Alpha please. We assure you that no such person entered the pack." They begged.

I darted my eyes towards the young girl that walked towards me; she was the Omega I had a fling with last night.

Her face still looked familiar, as I couldn't just recall where I met her. This time, I was able to see her face clearly. She was beautiful, light-skinned, and skinny-looking; she looked exactly like Aurora.

"You requested to see me, Alpha," she said, interrupting my thoughts.

"Yes, I did. Wait for me in my chambers." I instructed her.

"So..."

"I do not know my way to your chambers, Alpha," she said, interrupting me again.

"We'll go in together, then. Return your uniform and arms to the head of guards." I instructed her and walked inside the pack house while she followed.

We got to my chambers as I pushed the doors open and walked towards my king-sized chair, making myself comfortable on it.

She walked sluggishly towards me and stood before me, facing the ground.

A mild smirk appeared on my face as I stared at her for a few seconds before speaking.

"Strip!" I demanded.

I expected her to move her hands or body, but she didn't, and she uttered no word either. The smirk on my face disappeared as I repeated the sentence.

"I said, strip!"

"I apologize, my Alpha, but I can't do that." She voiced it out, stuttering.

"And how dare you go against my words?" I roared in anger.

"If you disobey one more time, then you won't see tomorrow. I command you to strip!" I yelled at her.

My voice and treats didn't have any effect on her as she stood before me fearlessly.

"Guards! Guards!" I called while two guards came, running into my chambers.

"Throw her into the dungeon and make sure she doesn't survive!" I roared in anger.

"Babe, what's going on?" Iza asked as she walked towards me.

"It's nothing you should worry about," I said.

"And who is she?" she asked, pointing to Omega.

"Like I said, it's nothing to worry about. I'll handle everything myself." I repeated.

"Isn't she an omega? Perhaps one of your concubines, huh?" She blurted it out, and of course I was expecting it.

"Iza, leave this minute! I've had a long evening, and I need rest."

"Rest?" She laughed. "You're done with her, and now you need rest? You lie." She hissed and walked away.

I let out a sigh of relief as I closed my eyes, trying to catch sleep, when the thoughts of the unknown person rang in my head.

Aurora's Pov

*Morning*

I stretched my hands as I got up from where I lay. The chirping of birds and the reflection of the sunlight woke me up. I stared at him, as he was still asleep.

My stomach grumbled due to hunger; we didn't have any good food for days.

I shook his legs, not minding if I disturbed his sleep; my stomach needed to be attended to.

"Hey, good morning, princess, and what do I owe you this morning?" He asked as he rubbed his eyes.

"This," I said as I rubbed my stomach.

He let out a mild smile and scoffed at the same time. His brows were tacky and furrowed as I giggled and rubbed them with my fingers.

"Hey, don't touch that. Get up; let's go get something to eat. I'm starving too."

He held my hands as we walked out of the house and into the forest in search of fruits, vegetables, or anything to eat.

We walked silently without uttering a word to each other. I stared at him for a second and blurted it out.

"Now tell me, are you in love with him?" It was Camel's voice.

"Camel?" I whispered, My wolf has decided to talk to me.

"You love him, and you can't lie about it. I left you for a while so you could get attached to him, but you fell."

"No, I didn't." I whispered again, this time drawing the attention of Alzred. "I wasn't talking to you." I forced a smile at him.

"Okay!" He smirked as he continued searching.

"What if he's your mate?" she giggled.

"Allow me to worry about that camel."

We suddenly began to hear distant noises as we left a gaze at each other at first, but as the noise continued, this time louder and nearer. I startled and ran to him, grabbing his hands.

"What's that?" I whispered.

"I have no idea," he answered.

"Be calm and don't panic; I'm here with you," he said as he kissed my forehead.

"Aww," Camel blurted out.

"Shhh!"

"Stay right here and don't move an inch," he said as he walked towards the direction the sounds emerged from.

He stood startled upon getting there.

"Are you okay? What did you see?" I asked where I stood. "Alzred!" I called as he fell to his knees, trying to lift something.

I ran towards him and saw a girl of my age lying lifelessly on the ground. He lifted her to his shoulders without uttering a word to me as he walked in the direction of the house.

It was the second time that I'd seen him in such a mood, and I hated it. The least I wanted was to get on his nerves. I walked behind him without saying a word. Suddenly, the hunger I felt vanished.

We got to the house as he laid her on the floor.

"She's my sister." He blurted out.
