Chapter 19 - Narrow Escape

Roman's POV

"Are you sure that her death has been confirmed, or is it a rumor you heard?" The weird looking woman asked him.

"It has been confirmed. The head of guards confirmed it." He replied.

"This is a drastic decision you're about to take. Why don't you just remain the Alpha? You've always wanted to be." The woman asked him.

"With these powers, I wouldn't only rule Moon West Park but also control the affairs of other neighboring packs and be the overall Alpha."

"You've never stopped being greedy, Alfred. But if you insist, then you have to be fully prepared to do whatever it takes." The woman told him.

"If I wasn't, I wouldn't have taken the risk to come here in the first place."

"Here is the list: two heads of virgin Omega's and a head of a she-wolf. You have three days to return with it."

"What? Three days?" He asked in shock.

"72 hours, and not an extra minute added to it. Come alone and make sure no one finds out about this unless you won't just lose everything but your life."

My horse began to neigh silently as I patted its back gently and nervously, but it continued.

"Did you hear that?" I heard Alfred ask, and this time his voice oozed anger.

"Yes, I did." The woman said.

I knew I wasn't going to be left alive if I maintained my position or used the horse. I silently bent to my knees and crawled far from where the horse stood.

Alfred walked towards where I left the horse, following the neighing sounds.

"A horse?" he said, observing the horse for a few seconds. "This horse is from the pack." His voice oozed anger.

"Moon West pack?" The woman's voice grew angrier than his, and I felt my spine shiver.

"Yes! Someone was here. I can smell him. It's a werewolf, and he's close." He said as he sniffed as his eyes glowed in fire.

"Allow me to do this search myself and teach whoever it is a life lesson." The woman scoffed as she transformed into a horrible creature. Her claws were long and thick; no one would survive if she pierced anyone with them.

My heart pumped out of my chest as she walked in my direction, and I crawled silently and hid myself inside the pool of water covered with grass.

"Keep hiding and pray to your moon goddess, which I don't get."

My stomach began to swell as I continued to struggle for breath. She stood close to the pool and darted her eyes around while I shut my eyes, praying. My legs began to lunge for air. Each gasp I took became desperate, and my body fought for survival. I couldn't hold it anymore as I lifted my head out of the water, gasping.

Luckily, she didn't see me as I faced the other end.

"He mustn't have gone far." Alfred yelled from where he stood. "I must chase after him before he gets to the pack."

"No! He is here. I can smell him." She said that and faced in my direction.

Her eyes were dark and mysterious, and they gleamed with power. I was too weak to run as I called upon my wolf.

"Arthur, Arthur."

The witch saw my human form but hadn't seen me completely as I hid behind a tree.

My wolf heard me, and I transformed immediately and ran into thick woods.

"Chase him! Chase after him!" She instructed Alfred to see me run.

I laughed drastically as Alfred chased me. After the dire wolf, my species was the second to be the strongest. When we were friends, I and some of my friends made fun of Alfred for being an Arctic wolf.

He didn't deserve to be the Alpha because he didn't possess any abilities. I outpaced him by so many meters that it would be impossible for him to get to me.

I quickly transformed into my human form as I got to the pack border. I observed for a while before making my way into the pack.

Alfred was soon going to get to the pack, and he would definitely ask the guards about me. My cloth was already drenched in water, and that would leave suspicion on anyone.

I moved my gaze around to see anywhere to zoom in when I saw her—the Omega that Alfred pissed off.

She was washing the legs of a guard. I let out a sigh of relief as I tried to call her attention while also looking behind me to check on Alfred.

Luckily, she looked in my direction but ignored me. I moved a bit closer to her, tried revealing my face, and gave a sign that I needed help.

Already, I could hear Alfred's legs strode on the ground. She observed and understood the signal I gave her as she used her breast to obstruct the guard's view.

I smiled as I took my hill and hid behind the barn gates, waiting for her. I guessed Alfred was in the pack already as I began to hear him yelling.

The Omega walked up to me and started at me for a second before speaking.

"What happened?" She asked with urgency in her voice.

"Please, can we get out of there first?" I pleased.

"Come with me," she grabbed my arms and pulled me to walk with me.

We got to an old, drenched house as she pushed the doors open and pulled me in.

"Now tell me what's happening."

She didn't finish her speech when we heard a knock on the door.

"Did the Alpha see you?" I whispered.

"I think so," she said camely.

"Shit! Listen, do not agree to anything he tells you."

"Should I be worried about anything?" She asked.

The knock came again, this time louder.

"Hide." She whispered and opened the door.

"The Alpha requests to see you." The guard said as she shut the door.
