The group stage second round would be held on Wednesday evening.

Before then, Lu Ye faced Magic City University's final exams for several courses.

All were practical exams for elective courses, including Pokémon Breeding Studies, Pokémon Battle Studies, and Sinnoh Pokémon History.

For Sinnoh Pokémon History, since Lu Ye even impressed Professor Rowan, he unsurprisingly ranked first in his grade.

The remaining two courses were held on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

Perfectly not interfering with Wednesday's competition.

That said, Lu Ye desperately wanted legitimate reasons to forfeit.

Monday, the Finance Department first-years faced the Pokémon Breeding Studies final practical exam.

The grey-haired professor patrolled the examination hall.

Four berry blenders filled the room, groups of four students each.

The exam content was precisely crafting Poké Blocks.

Examinees surrounded the rumbling machines, expressions tense, eyes glued to the machines, fearing the slightest mistake.

For Poké Blocks requiring teamwork, any error led to crafting failure!

"Haah~"

In the pin-drop-quiet classroom, Lu Ye yawned, immediately drawing sidelong glances.

The professor glanced at Lu Ye, saying coolly, "Watch the time."

Lu Ye's small group only had three people.

Liang Dayou wiped his forehead sweat, complaining, "Second Brother, didn't you say you learned this!"

Tian Youwei smiled bitterly. "How'd I know you'd make so many mistakes!"

Poké Block final quality was determined by the makers' mistake count.

Solo crafting Poké Blocks was undoubtedly many times harder than teamwork.

Tian Youwei thought that with his experience, he could at least help Brother Dayou.

He never expected Brother Dayou wouldn't contribute; he'd actually hinder!

"Alright, you two, stop. Let me handle it." Lu Ye teased.

"Just honestly be deadweight!"

Hearing Lu Ye speak up, Tian Youwei rejoiced, immediately stepping aside.

But Liang Dayou firmly held the machine, declaring righteously, "No, we're a team!"

Lu Ye smiled awkwardly.

Ten minutes later, the professor lowered his frames, carefully examining Lu Ye's group's product, lightly saying, "Oh?"

The crystal-clear Oran Berry blocks were just half a step from high quality!

The professor glanced at Lu Ye and others, saying coolly, "Did you really make this yourselves?"

"Of course!" Liang Dayou patted his chest. "All thanks to our three's unrelenting efforts!"

The professor nodded, recording, "90 points. You three pass!"

Tian Youwei widened his eyes incredulously.

90 points?!

Even Pokémon Academy students beside them didn't score this high!

Leaving the classroom, still-stunned Tian Youwei trembled, "We three... 90 points?"

Lu Ye's expression was strange. "Could've been 100 points."

"Exactly!" Liang Dayou declared. "Second Brother, if you'd participated, we might've gotten perfect scores!"

"I..."

"Seems I'm quite talented at making Poké Blocks."

Liang Dayou rubbed his chin, murmuring, "Should I dual-major in Breeding?"

Lu Ye smiled silently.

The system showed Lu Ye's [Poké Block Crafting Lv3] increased another level to [Lv4].

[Poké Block Crafting Lv4: You have a low probability of crafting perfect-quality Poké Blocks; your crafting success rate increased 70% (Your crafting skill rivals Coordinators)]

Accumulating proficiency could level skills; Lu Ye only recently discovered this.

Lv4 already qualified as master craftsmanship. Lu Ye's Poké Blocks could definitely sell for high prices.

But selling Poké Blocks required professional licensing.

Lu Ye couldn't possibly spend one or two years completing nutritionist or medic courses.

These Poké Blocks could only benefit Lu Ye's own Pokémon.

Exam results were announced that day. Lu Ye's group deservedly won first place.

Happiness came too suddenly, leaving Brother Dayou dizzy.

Tian Youwei grabbed Lu Ye's hand excitedly. "Brother Lu, I want to be deadweight next time too!"

"Me too!" Liang Dayou declared righteously.

That evening, Lu Ye returned to his rental.

Seeing Gastly staring eagerly at the scroll immediately startled Lu Ye.

"Holy crap, be super careful with this thing!"

Fortunately, Gastly hadn't finished researching [Green's Breeding Manual].

Once it licked [Breeding Manual] clean, that'd probably be when it started gnawing [Toxic Experience].

Lu Ye felt chilled.

Attempting Aspear Berry Poké Block crafting, out of five Aspear Berries, none achieved perfect quality.

"Seems this low probability is genuinely quite low." Lu Ye murmured.

On the other side, Gastly opened its gaping maw, sweeping an entire basin of Poké Blocks clean.

Gastly: Choked (*⊙~⊙)

"Holy crap, you ate all that?"

"You're waiting to die tonight!"

Aspear Berries had excitement-promoting effects.

That night, the neighbouring construction site echoed with ghostly wails, reportedly lasting until dawn.

The next morning, Tuesday, Lu Ye rushed to campus for the Pokémon Battle Studies final exam.

The exam was held at Magic City University's Arena Centre.

As a university-level battle venue, the equipment was quite complete with excellent safety measures.

But the nearly 20,000-square-meter Arena Centre's stadiums were mostly closed to students, only used during university competitions.

Some beginner fields were available but required advance reservations.

Lu Ye arrived at the exam field but saw the arena entrance crowded with classmates.

Wearing a baseball cap, new PE teacher Gao Liang blew his whistle apologetically. "Students, let's take the exam tomorrow?"

The crowd erupted in complaints.

"I have other classes tomorrow, teacher!"

"Exactly, wasn't this already reserved? Why change?"

Seeing forfeiting opportunities, Lu Ye suppressed his wildly rising mouth corners, nudging Liang Dayou. "Brother Dayou, what's happening?"

Brother Dayou scratched his head. "Seems Battle Department needs extra training, temporarily occupying the venue."

"Can't help it. They specifically study this." Brother Dayou shrugged. "Let's go back to the orms to game!"

Lu Ye also wanted to leave, but saw commotion at the crowd's front.

A spirited Finance Department girl stepped forward, arguing, "We reserved first!"

"Battle Department has first priority. That's written in usage rules."

"That's during competition periods, not now during university leagues!"

Teacher Gao repeatedly pacified. "Students, don't get agitated. Let's discuss calmly!"

"Discuss what! You guys just watch us get bullied?"

The situation gradually spiralled. A ponytailed girl emerged from the venue.

"I'm also female. I'll discuss with you."

Tian Youwei nudged Lu Ye, whispering, "That's the one I mentioned, Fairy-type family's Shen Tingzhi!"

"Though not league period, school team members can use venues preferentially."

Shen Tingzhi frowned. "I'm a freshman school team member!"

At these words, the situation momentarily quieted.

Magic University Battle Department's school team was actually a freshman.

How incredibly strong must she be!

"School team members are so amazing?!" Liang Dayou shouted. "That's just you alone, not your whole class!"

"Exactly!"

"Stop deflecting, we reserved first!"

"School team isn't worth bragging about." Shen Tingzhi frowned. "If anyone can beat me, naturally, I'm no longer a school team member."

Liang Dayou was speechless, dejectedly shrinking back.

The situation was momentarily silenced.

Teacher Gao hurriedly pacified. "Students, coming back later works too!"

Just then, a red light burst from a Poké Ball.

Blood-red-eyed Gastly panted heavily, eyes bulging with bloodshot veins!

Last night's Aspear Berry effects still hadn't worn off!

Everyone's attention, 'whoosh' converged on Lu Ye.

Lu Ye wore a smile, silently gripping his Poké Ball.

Gastly, you little rascal.

Don't force me to act!
