The question hung in the air, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. I felt my breath caught up in my throat as I processed his words.
"I…." I struggled for words
"You don't have to answer, if you're not ready" Ethan cut in looking disappointed
"I love you Ethan. I've fallen for you in ways I didn't expect."
A smile broke across Ethan's face "I love you too, Avery. You're my perfect obsession"
In that moment, everything else faded away_ the noise of the city and the drama of the gala. All that matters was the connection we shared and the love that blossomed between us.
Ethan stepped forward, cupping my round face in his hands as he leaned in for a kiss filled with warmth and passion. He poured all his feelings into that single moment.
"my wife is now in love with me" he shouted happily and we both laughed at his childish behavior

He pulled me against himself and pressed my back against the cool railing of the rooftop. The sensation sent shivers down my spine, heightening my awareness of him. I reached for his shirt and unbuttoned it, revealing the chiselled expanse of his chest. The sight took my breath away and I ran my hands over his warm skin, feeling the solid muscles beneath her finger tips.
Ethan groaned softly as he pressed his body against mine, he leaned down, capturing my lips and lifted me up effortlessly towards the edge of the rooftop garden.
I was laid down on the scented flowers. I tangled my fingers in his hair and surrendered to the sensation of his lips on mine. We were both lost in our own universe.
