"You're early," Sophie said as she walked over.
"I just got here too," Ned replied, handing her the coffee. "Your favorite Americano."
Sophie took the cup. "Thank you! So you really bring Hale hot chocolate every day. He's been saying a lot of nice things about you."
"Really? I didn't know bringing him a drink would earn me such good reviews. Next time I'll bring something for Ella and Alex too."
"When did you become so cunning?" The two of them looked at each other and laughed at the same time.
The kindergarten doors opened and children poured out. Hale was always the first to rush out. He threw himself into Ned's arms. "Daddy! The teacher praised me today!"
"Really? That's wonderful. Daddy is so proud of you!"
Ella walked out with her tablet already taken out of her small backpack, though she hadn't turned it on yet. "Daddy, have you prepared the money to buy the stock I recommended?"
