Ned's car sped through the streets, running two red lights. There was only one thought in his mind: Sophie had been kidnapped.
He called his assistant Nate using the car's Bluetooth system. "Contact the Regent Hotel's security team immediately. Lock down all exits. Sophie has been kidnapped."
"Boss? Understood, I'll do it right away."
When Ned's car stopped at the hotel's back entrance, a black van was just accelerating out. Ned caught a glimpse of the license plate.
He kept the call with Nate open. "Nate, black van, last three digits 732, heading east."
"Got it. I'll notify the police immediately."
Ned hung up, made a sharp U-turn, and chased after the van in his business SUV.
Inside the van, Kenji looked at the unconscious Sophie and sneered coldly. "Miss Davies, you made me lose everything. Now I'm going to make you lose everything too."
Sophie's head lolled to one side with no reaction. The red light on her watch was still flashing, but Kenji didn't notice.
