With his wife at a book club gathering, and his youngest once again out of the country chasing a party somewhere. Lucas Roth had intended to spend his Wednesday afternoon catching up on some reading. In fact when he had gotten a call from the private investigator that he had hired to get to the bottom of the whole Haley Slater and his son issue. Lucas had nearly just ignored the phone call. After all the PI had been bringing him nothing but useless information. The last time he had even gotten Lucas' hopes up for nothing. The man unable to dig up anything that could be used to prove that his son's marriage was a sham.
But Lucas had decided to accept the call for the sake of it. Now he was glad he had done so.
"How confident are you in the information that you have just given me," There was barely a pause from the other side before the PI was answering.
