Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Aftermath

As Leo plummeted toward the ground, John, Alex, Jonny, and Kai could hardly believe what they were seeing. Their friend—Leo—was falling to his death right before their eyes. They tried to reach him, to do something, anything, but it was useless. The wind was too strong, the distance too great.

Tears welled up in their eyes as the truth sank in—Leo, their brother-in-arms in every thrill and adventure, was about to die. They could only watch helplessly as he turned to look at them one last time. In that fleeting moment, they saw his eyes filled not with fear, but with acceptance.

What was supposed to be a fun and thrilling adventure had turned into a nightmare.

And then it happened. The moment Leo hit the ground, a sickening sound followed—blood splattering upon impact.

"NOOOOO!" they all screamed in unison, voices trembling with despair. But there was nothing they could do. They were still descending, their parachutes slowing them as they hovered helplessly above the site. It was too late—Leo's fall had been too fast, too sudden.

Meanwhile, inside the plane they had jumped from, silence filled the cockpit.

"Now you've done it, huh?" one of the pilots muttered, his voice trembling.

The other pilot, a man with the same snow-white hair as Leo, merely smirked. "That guy's gone for good now."

The first pilot turned to him, shocked. "Mark… he was your brother. How could you do something like this?"

"Shut up," Mark said coldly, his tone sharp as a blade. "Unless you want to die too."

The terrified pilot fell silent. Then, a chilling laugh filled the cockpit—low at first, then twisting into a mad cackle.

"Ahahahaha! Hahahahahahahaha!"

Mark's laughter echoed inside the plane, a sound that would forever haunt anyone who heard it.

Leo would have never guessed that his death wasn't just an accident. He had no idea that his own brother—the very person he trusted most—had orchestrated his end. If only he and his friends had checked who was piloting the plane… maybe things would have been different.

But fate had already made its choice.

A week had passed since Leo's death. His friends—John, Alex, Jonny, and Kai—had gathered once more, the weight of loss still heavy in their hearts. Yet beneath their grief, suspicion burned. Something about the accident didn't feel right.

They couldn't shake the feeling that Leo's death wasn't just a tragic mishap. Someone had targeted him—that much they were certain of.

Now, with the funeral already over, the group decided to meet with Leo's family to discuss everything in detail. They needed answers. They needed the truth.

When night came, the agreed-upon time finally arrived.

Leo's friends, led by Kai, sat together around the long dining table inside the Frost family mansion. Across from them sat Leo's family—Marcus Frost, his father; Jane Frost, his mother; his elder brother, France Frost; his elder sister, Elena Frost; and his second older brother, Mark Frost.

The air was heavy with silence as the discussion began. They spoke about the details of Leo's death, the malfunctioning parachute, and the possible reasons behind it. Eventually, they arrived at one unsettling conclusion—perhaps someone had targeted Leo.

Marcus, Leo's father, frowned deeply. "My son… he wasn't the kind of person to make enemies," he said, his tone filled with quiet disbelief.

"I can vouch for that," Mark added smoothly. "Leo and I were close. He didn't have enemies—at least none that I know of."

As the conversation neared its end, Kai glanced at Alex and gave him a subtle wink. Alex caught the signal instantly. Leo's family also caught it though confusion flickered in their eyes.

Something was about to happen.

Mark, sitting felt it. Though he didn't understand why, unease gripped him as he glanced at the four young men across the table.
