Chapter 127 - Bonus Chapter 126

At Golden Sunrise Music, Zane arrived bright and early. It was only 8 a.m., before any of the singers had even arrived. He wanted to be there to show his support.

He had a quick, friendly chat with Nimitz L. Domino, the man in charge of the music company.

Domino was a huge talent. Victor had hired him away from Universal Records. He was a big deal and had made albums for superstars like Michael Jackson and Madonna. To get him, Zane made sure he was paid very well, just like his other top managers.

"Domino, good morning!" Zane said with a warm smile. "I know Victor has everything under control, but I just wanted to stop by and see how you're doing. I'm excited about what you're building here."

Zane liked to trust his team. He stayed focused on the "big picture" and let his expert managers do their jobs. He knew that bosses who got too involved often just caused problems and arguments. He wanted to help his team, not get in their way.

"Boss, this new album from Eminem is amazing," Domino said, his eyes bright with excitement. "It has 15 songs, and Eminem wrote 10 of them himself. I have to say, he's a true artist. You were so smart to sign him. It's a great investment!"

Zane beamed, his smile full of pride. "I knew he was special from the start! I'm just happy we can give him a chance to show the world."

Domino nodded. He really admired his boss's good ideas.

"Hehe, should I tell him I'm from the future?" Zane thought to himself with a hidden laugh.

They talked about how to sell the album. Zane's company was new, so it didn't have its own way to get the CDs into stores.

"Don't you worry about that, boss," Domino said, full of confidence. "I've been in this business a long time, and I have connections. But more importantly, we have Eminem. He was the runner-up on 'America's Got Talent'! He's already a huge star. Trust me, the stores will be calling us, fighting for the chance to sell this album."

Zane nodded, his trust in Domino growing even more. This was why he hired experts.

"That's great news," Zane said. "And how are Beyoncé and her friends in Destiny's Child doing? How is their album coming along?"

Zane knew Beyoncé would also be a world-famous singer one day.

"They are very good, boss," Domino explained. "But these young ladies aren't songwriters like Eminem, so their album will take a little more time to prepare. We want to get it perfect."

Zane nodded in understanding. "You're the professional, Domino, and I trust your judgment. Just make sure we give them all the support they need."

Zane knew it was a bad idea for a boss to tell an expert how to do their job. He was still learning about music, so he was happy to let Domino lead the way.

It wasn't long before Eminem, Beyoncé, and the others arrived to start recording.

Zane didn't just hide in his office. He went right out to greet them. He spent time with them, asking about their lives with a big, friendly smile.

"How are you all settling in? Is the studio good? Do you need anything?" he asked. "If you ever have a problem, you can tell the company, or you can even call me directly. I'm here for you."

He was so easy to talk to and so supportive. He left them all feeling like they had the best boss in the world.

Soon after Zane left, Domino announced Eminem's new album.

The news exploded!

At the California General News office, one older reporter named Stevenson was very confused.

"Boss," he said to his editor. "Madonna's big world tour is in Los Angeles today. Are you sure you want me to interview... Eminem? He's just a new kid."

"Nonsense!" roared his editor, Joe El. (He was a very grumpy boss.) "Are you questioning my decision?!"

"No, boss!" Stevenson said, getting scared. "I just... Madonna is a superstar."

"You idiot!" Joe yelled. "Don't you get it? Eminem was the star runner-up on 'America's Got Talent'! This is his first album! Every kid in America is waiting for it! That's the big story! Now go! If you don't get that interview before dark, don't even bother coming back!"

The old reporter broke out in a cold sweat and ran out the door.

It wasn't just him. Reporters from all over the country were rushing to Golden Sunrise Music, all trying to be the first to talk to Eminem.
