CHAPTER TWO: THE CONTRACT
(Star Light Hotel)
Life as I knew it had just taken a new turn. Coincidentally, we stayed in the same hotel although I wondered why a star like her who had her own house, would stay in a 2 star hotel.
I found it weird but who was I kidding, I was about to become the manager and contracted boyfriend to an idol like her. Grandad would feel angry but, it was none of my business. My dream had just come true. We checked in and received the keys to our rooms in which we had booked for already.
"Come Tae Kyun, follow me," she said voice sweet as the music she sang.
"Alright,"
We walked into the hotel and checked in into her room. There were to discuss the terms of the contract.
"Good morning Yu Ra, how was your concert?" a young girl came in and said not knowing i was there.
"It was great, thank you," Yu Ra replied smiling back at her.
"Why did you call me here?" she asked before sighting me opposite her.
"Who...is this Yu Ra?" she asked almost in disgust.
"Oh right, sorry, this is Han Tae Kyun. He's the real reason I called you here. Did you bring the papers like I asked you to?"
"Huh…..yeah, here they are, I couldn't read them, I just prepared them as you sent the info to me. It said contract of Love? Why?" She asked holding a very confusing look on her face.
"First I would like to introduce you to Han Tae Kyun, he will be my new manager and my contracted boyfriend,"
"What? H-h-h-him? Yu Ra did you hit your head on your way here or are you drunk or something? Him? You've got to be kidding me, I don't approve of this Yu Ra," she yelled ignoring the fact that I was present there.
"Soo Min, I know it might sound weird but, it's just a convenience contract. He'll pretend to be my boyfriend and will be secretly working as my manager in return for his help. He wants to be a K-pop star idol and I think this would be a good thing on his resume. Plus, you've been asking for a break, haven't you?"
"Yeah but still Yu Ra—," Soo Min insisted but was cut off by Yu Ra. Served her right.
"I…..have made my decision. Please as my friend, respect it. Please Soo Min?" Yu Ra begged.
"Oof, alright. For you, I'll accept it but he better not try any funny business," she threatened with eyes glaring like they were about to pop out.
"I won't Ms. Soo Min, right?"
"Yes, her name is Ji Soo Min, she's my part time manager and my best friend. Oh it's so nice to see that she accepted you,"
"Not quite, only if he proves himself to me,"
"Alright, here is the contract, I'll sign here and you'll sign here," Yu Ra indicated signing it and giving me the pen to do the same.
Those words made my heart flutter like a butterfly, she called me her boyfriend and manager but the only word I heard was boyfriend. If felt like I was going to die of happiness, just kidding, I couldn't die, especially when fate did something good for me.
"Tae Kyun? Did you hear what I said?" asked Yu Ra.
"Oh…huh, yeah, yeah I did. Nice working with you Yu Ra,"
"And also, you guys would have to exchange contact infos because she will be teaching you what to do and what not to do, when to do it okay?"
"Yes Yu Ra," I replied bowing my head a little.
"What are you doing?" asked Yu Ra
"I'm, thanking you,"
"You needn't not bow your head to me, we are dating according to the contract, have you forgotten?"
Shoot, totally forgot, well, it was not easy getting used to things like this.
"See why I was against it Yu Ra? Hell sabotage everything," Soo Min uttered
"I'm sorry, I'll do my best....babe,"
I couldn't believe I said something like that, babe? I even thought I went too far.
"Now that's what I'm talking about, keep it up honey. You better get to bed and be ready, by twelve in the afternoon we'll be going shopping,"
"Yes babe,"
"Don't overdo it," Soo Min interrupted
My glare towards her grew hot but non aggressive, it was like I should have picked the contract paper and stuffed it in her big mouth so it would be quiet.
"Stupid girl, she's my babe now, whether you like it or not. Ha ha, joke's on you donut head,"
"Also, you'll be earning one million won, for starters,"
My heart raced faster, I had never even seen five hundred thousand won little less, a million.
"One….million? For starters?" I asked still in awe.
"Yeah, I pay Soo Min like ten to twelve million and that's because she's my senior manger, you are my junior manager," she replied touching her chin trying so hard to remember.
"Wow, I guess that's why she could talk to me like that, because she's basically my boss and earns more than me. Senior manger, I guess I would have to bare with her,"
"Alright, I'll take your leave," I uttered leaving the room
I left the room, still finding it hard to believe that was happening to me. Id thought I would wake up from that dream any moment but it was still going on.
"I guess this isn't a dream. Thank you Lord, thank you so much," I said to myself hands folded, eyes filled with unshed tears that just didn't want to drop but kept filling the pockets of my eyes before I heard whispers again from the room.
It was Soo Min talking
"Yu Ra, I can't let you do this, you know what people like him do when they meet celebrities like you. They take advantage of the situation. Please don't do it. I'm worried about you. It's hard to build a career but it's easy to destroy it in seconds,"
"Soo Min, I understand you but, something about him tells me he's different. He's not like the others, all he wants is to pursue his dreams and that's what I'm helping him to do, plus, he didn't accept at first, tat made me sure he was a reliable person, another person would have grabbed the opportunity immediately, don't you think?"
"Yeah sure, I guess. Please don't make me regret supporting you on this Yu Ra," Soo Min responded
