CHAPTER THREE: STRANGER TO CELEBRITY
(IN MY ROOM)
I'd thought that I would get enough sleep—well I did, but just for four hours before I heard a knock on my door.
"Tae Kyun, one minute please," it was Yu Ra outside my door
I opened the door to check why she was there only to be surprised by the outfit she wore. She entered not waiting for my consent twirling round the room.
"What?—" I couldn't get the words to come out of my mouth.
"How do I look Tae Kyun? If we're gonna go out together, we must look convincing match. So, how do I look?"
I looked at her from head to toes, she had put on a velvety red gown with black belt and various jewelries along with golden shoes and a black handbag. Looked normal for a celebrity you might say, maybe too normal, but for some reason, it wasn't, it was gorgeous. I'd have to admit, celebrities do have their way of getting things to look beautiful.
"You look g-gorgeous Yu Ra, fantastic," I replied, eyes still fixed on the dress.
"I wish I could just take her and fly to the moon where it would be only the both of us, I love her already, she's perfectly beautiful,"
"Thanks, I really appreciate the comments, I would have asked Soo Min but she had already gone and I'm bored. You're the only one here that I can talk to and won't freak out on seeing a celebrity and make a scene, except for Soo Min of course," she said sitting on my couch looking almost lonely.
"It's alright, you can stay here for as long as you want. You're welcome. Is it time to leave?" I assured her.
"Thanks, it's not yet time to leave but i thought of making a video of us to post on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, Kakao talk, Instagram and even TikTok. Or even a live one, I think that would be better. What do you say, you don't want eyes to be glaring at you once we get outside. People would be asking questions on why a total stranger is with a celebrity,"
"Whether we do the video or not, eyes Wil still glare. It's what they are created for am I right?" I said getting up from my seat.
"Where are you going?"
"To take a bath, you don't want to be seen with a guy who hasn't taken his bath do you?"
"Fair point, go on,"
It was just a five minute bath but it felt like it was a minute, I didn't want to keep her waiting, it would be bad to spend hours in the bathroom just because I wanted to take a bath.
"I'm here," I said wearing a sweat shirt and a casual hoodie.
"Alright, let's get started," she said setting up the phone ready for rolling.
"Ok, we will be doing this live so I just want you to do what I tell you to do and say what I tell you to say, if not, just introduce yourself okay honey?"
"Yh....babe," my heart fluttered again at the sound of those words.
"Alright, we start in 3…2…1 and rolling,
Alright good morning my people, it's your girl Hana here and I've got an exciting news that you guys have been wanting to hear,"
She started without me in the view for some reason and in the next ten seconds, she already had a thousand streams.
"I'm really doing this aren't I? Thousands…..no, millions of people around the world would be watching me, I'm getting goosebumps already, even my goosebumps have goosebumps. I can feel the butterflies in my tummy already, they'd burst out any moment," I thought feeling nervous but Yu Ra poked me with her elbow assuring me that they'd love me giving me a secret thumbs up all while still talking to her fans.
"And the big news is...…..I have gotten a boyfriend!" she yelled while putting her arms around my collar dragging me closer to her.
"Come on Tae Kyun, say hi to the fans,"
"Hi, it's nice to meet you, I'm Han Tae Kyun, and i have to say, it's a pleasure being with Hana over here,"
"Yes Tae Kyun, same here," she replied giving me a kiss on the cheeks.
At that moment, the streams had reached a million already. Fans were excited in the comment section, flooding it with messages nonstop.
"From now on, he'll be with me at every concert I am having, along with his family. And please I want you to show him as much love as you show me. Let us know what you think of us as a couple in the comment section, love you guys," she waved at the fans together.
"Well that was intense," I said finally being at total peace.
Suddenly my phone started vibrating over and over again.
"What the—?"
"What is it Tae Kyun?" She asked surprised by my reaction after looking into my phone.
"I just got millions of followers in minutes—millions of likes and thousands of comments," I replied, eyes still glued to my phone screen
"Welcome to the world of fame—again.
Look at how the comments are going wild.
Comment one: 'Love those two, they fit perfectly #TaeKyunAndYuraForever',
Comment two: 'I love those couples already, I'm happy she finally found someone she can love #LoversForever',"
All of a sudden, my phone rang.
It was my elder brother, I picked and put it on speaker.
"Hey Jin ho, what's up? How are you? What made you call?"
"What's the problem? Can't I call my little brother? Well, I heard you were now dating Han Yu Ra, is that true?" He asked expecting answers
"Omg, how did he hear that fast? We just finished the video now," I asked with my hand covering the phone's mic.
"What can I say? It's public influence, one video from me and the world hears about it," she responded
"Hello? Tae Kyun, are you there?" My brother called out.
"Y-y-yeah, it's…..true, we are dating, I also got a job as her manager, it's convenient right?"
"Woah, it's super convenient. Good job my bro, you really went beyond my expectations. At least granddad would free the both of us from forcing you to study engineering,"
"Yeah, I thank God on that," I sighed a sigh of relief. Han Jin Ho has always been supportive of me since I was a child.
Unlike grandad who always forced me to do what I didn't want to do, he always gave me his support and time even as he's busy as a doctor.
"Tae Kyun, give the phone to my future sister-in-law,"
Sister-in-law? Our eyes met eachother's before the contact was broken by Yu Ra's smile.
She collected the phone from me.
"Helloooooo, you must be Tae Kyun's brother. It's nice to meet you Jin Ho," she said in a joyful way.
"Hey, how are you Yu Ra? I just hope my brother is taking care of you well?"
"Oh, he is, he's a darling over here. Very nice and humble. He's not like others,"
"Did she just call me a darling? I think I'm gonna faint,"
"Yes, he's totally different from the rest of the world, that's why I love him as my brother. Well then—take care, bye,"
"Bye," Yu ra said hanging up the call
"Here, take," she handed me my phone.
"What? I had to make it believable so the news would spread faster and it will feel authentic even though it isn't,"
"Y-y-yeah, of course. That was a smart move," I replied collecting the phone.
"Oh, it's twelve already, let's go shopping, then we'll go on a date," Yu Ra uttered after glancing at the wall clock.
"Date?" I asked very confused
"Well duh, if we want people to believe us, we have to make video of us hanging out. It's very obvious,"
"Oh yeah, sorry, I'm new to this....fake love thing. But what of the management stuffs, I have to know and plan all the things you'll need as your manager,"
"Forget it, Soo Min will teach you all you have to know later, let's head out," she said yanking me out of the room as she left.
