Unable to bear the pressure, Turles finally chose to attack Goku.
But before he could even touch Goku, he was blown away by an invisible wave of energy.
Turles crashed to the ground, coughing up blood as his nose bled.
He wiped it away, eyes wide with disbelief.
"How… how can the gap be this big?" he muttered.
Unwilling to give up, Turles suddenly remembered what Goku had said earlier—about planting the Spirit Tree seeds.
He pointed at Goku and shouted, "Kakarot! Is what you said still true? Will you really let me plant the Spirit Tree seeds?"
"Sure. Go ahead," Goku replied casually with a wave of his hand.
But was Goku truly unconcerned? Not at all.
He simply wanted to observe how Turles planted the Spirit Tree seeds. That was part of Goku's plan.
Turles chuckled darkly. As long as he doesn't interfere, once I eat the Spirit Tree fruit, Kakarot is finished.
He knew very well that eating the fruit could skyrocket his combat power.
To him, Goku's behavior was nothing but suicidal arrogance.
Of course, Turles had no idea that Goku had already seen through his intentions.
Goku simply chose not to warn him.
Turles took out the Spirit Tree seed and flew off to the far side of the planet.
As he glanced back, he noticed Goku wasn't following.
"What's going on? Why isn't he chasing me?" Turles muttered, growing confused. "Does he really think he can still track me?"
He didn't know that Goku could easily sense his ki.
As the distance grew, Turles checked his scouter.
Goku's reading hadn't moved at all. That made him laugh hysterically.
"Hahaha! Foolish Kakarot, you'll pay for your arrogance. Soon you'll learn what it costs to look down on me!"
Turles had always wanted to kill Goku, but until now he had been powerless.
This was his chance, and he was thrilled.
On the other side, Goku calmly closed his eyes, waiting. No matter where Turles went, he couldn't hide.
When the fruits were ripe, Goku planned to test them himself.
Perhaps they could help increase his own base combat strength—something that was becoming harder and harder to improve.
After all, most Saiyans in later battles had relied on transformations to gain sudden boosts in power.
But Goku knew the foundation always came from one's base strength.
On Turles' side, he planted the Spirit Tree seed.
In an instant, it sprouted and began to grow. The speed was astonishing.
Even from the other side of the planet, Goku could sense its rapid expansion.
Within minutes, the seed had grown into a massive tree, still spreading.
Three hours later, the entire planet was drained of life. Not a single sign of nature remained—except for the enormous Spirit Tree.
The colossal branches glowed with energy, and more than ten fruits hung from them.
Turles looked up at them, murmuring, "Only a dozen? Hmph, better than nothing. I'll make do. You'd better give me the power I need to crush Kakarot."
Still, he wasn't certain. Would a dozen fruits be enough to bridge the gap between him and Goku?
Even so, he had no choice. Without the Spirit Tree fruit, he didn't stand a chance. With them, at least he had hope.
Turles rose into the air to pluck the fruit—only to nearly faint when Goku suddenly appeared right in front of him.
"K-Kakarot?! How are you here already? Weren't you on the other side of the planet?"
"Stupid," Goku replied coldly.
The single word shattered Turles' confidence. He hadn't eaten the fruit yet—he had no hope of winning.
But he had to endure. If he could just eat them, then maybe…
"You want to eat the Spirit Tree fruit first, then fight me, right?" Goku said flatly, exposing his plan.
Turles stiffened. He saw right through me…
Still, he forced himself to smirk. "Kakarot, we're both Saiyans. Surely you'd rather fight me at full strength? Don't you want to face me once I've gained the Spirit Tree's power?"
"Why not wait? Then we can truly have a battle worthy of Saiyans!"
Goku shook his head. "Nice try. But I'm not interested in your provocation. I don't fight for the thrill—I fight to end things quickly. Leaving enemies a chance is just asking for trouble."
Turles cursed silently. Damn it. If he doesn't take the bait, then this is going to be very bad for me…
