Halloween….The final night of the year and I couldn't be happier, I'm ready to get the fuck out of here and never step foot in this place again. I'm in the RV just relaxing hours before we're set to open up when I get a knock at the door. I open it up and it's Cherry standing there with just her makeup on.
"What do you want?"
"Wow that's rude, I just wanted to see what you were doing"
She said pushes me aside and walks in
"Yeah just make yourself at home I guess"
"Oh I will… so whatcha doin?"
"I'm just counting down the hours until I leave this hell hole"
"Awww that's not nice, so you're not gonna miss us??"
"Fuuuuck no, once I leave tonight I'm never looking back. Every person that has my number is getting blocked"
"Even me?"
"Especially you!"
"Oh…. I thought you liked me"
"Why? You think I liked you just because we fucked? I literally have no type of feelings towards you"
Her face drops and she kinda hangs her head
"Awww is the murdering psychopath showing some emotion? I am fucking touched, i could shed a tear"
Cherry looks up at me with a sad face and just walks out without saying another word. I shut the door behind her and just head to the room to get ready for the last shift of the season. I'm in the office as people start packing the place, this is turning out to be the busiest day of the season. I decide to just stay in the office all day unless I get a call, I'm already packing it in. I'm just watching the cameras of all the mazes, it's usually kinda entertaining watching people get the shit scared out of them, but tonight seems…. Off. I'm watching the cameras and usually they send it groups at a time but tonight they're sending in either one person or two people at a time, it's kinda weird but maybe they want to to make it scarier since it's Halloween night. As I continue to watch the cameras I see a single person get grabbed and pulled back into the curtains.
"What the fuck was that?!?"
Thats when I start to notice people getting picked off one by one inside the mazes, getting dragged behind the curtains by the workers and never coming out. Over the next couple hours I just watch in silence at different people getting abducted inside the mazes, I just think to myself if this is just something extra they do on Halloween to up the scare factor or are they taking these people for their own purposes. All night long I just sit there, watching in horror and I can't do nothing about it. After a grueling shift, it's finally come to an end, I put everything up and head to the RV to shower. After I get out the shower I put on a hoodie and some joggers, just to relax for the rest of the night until I hear a lot of commotion coming from outside. I figured since it was the last day they were celebrating by partying like always until I started hearing screams. I slightly open the blinds to check out what's going on… All the people that were snatched up in the mazes are tied up on the floor. Hill is in the middle of everyone, a big bonfire behind him, I can't hear what's going on that much but I know it's not good. Soon they grab someone and bring them up, as I'm watching I see someone bring Hill what looks like those old Aztec knifes they used for sacrifices.
"What the fuck is going on?"
I whispered to myself as I watch everything going down, after a few minutes of Hill giving whatever speech he was saying he takes the knife and slits the persons throat. Blood starts gushing out as the persons lifeless body falls to the ground. Two men then grab the lifeless body and throw it into the big bonfire, then one after another a person is brought up and it's repeated all over again. This goes on for what seems like forever until the last persons body is thrown into the fire, I back away from the window and slump into a chair, shocked at what I just saw. Even after everything I've witnessed the last few months, this was beyond the worse thing I've seen, but unfortunately I can't say anything and turn a blind eye to it once again. As I'm sitting there I get a knock on my door, I open it and it's Hill.
"Hey Jay"
"Oh what's up Mr hill"
"Can I come in?"
"Uhhh sure"
Hill comes in and sits down
"Do you want a drink or something?"
"No im alright, just wanted to make this quick"
"Ok…"
"So I just wanted to let you know this whole season was a huge success"
"That's good"
"Very… which is why I'm going to extend it until Christmas and have a more festive atmosphere to go along with it"
"Wait…. You're serious?"
"Yes, more money in our pockets"
"But today was my last day"
"That's why I'm here, i want you to continue working for me until Christmas time"
"Ughhhhh really?"
"Jay…. Don't forget about our little deal"
"I guess I don't have much of a choice then huh?"
"No not really"
"Fuck… fine I guess"
"I'm glad we can come to an agreement"
Hill gets up to walk out until I speak up
"But.."
Hill turns around
"But what?"
"I got some demands"
"As long as it's not too ridiculous"
"I want forty an hour"
"Fine"
"I'm not done. I was planning to go home for thanksgiving break, so I want that week off"
"Hmmm I guess we can manage a week without you but on one condition"
"And that is?"
"I'm going to send someone with you to make sure you come back"
"I guess, who's coming?"
"I'll tell you before you leave, I'll even buy the tickets"
"Ok sounds good"
"Anything else?"
"No I think that's it"
"Alright glad we can agree on this, have a good night now"
Hill walks out and I lock the door behind him
"Well…. So much for tonight being my last night" I say to myself before heading to bed. Two more months of hell coming up…. What else could go wrong.
