Theo Thatcher, an ordinary man who has been overworked by his company since the day he joined a year ago. He entered his office like usual, tired and weak but he had accepted this new reality he was now living in. His jet black hair had started to turn grey, his face was pale and looked sick, the eyebags on his face only made him look more weak. He dragged his frail body towards his desk and slowly sat down to start working.
"The work never seems to end here. How does this darned company expect me to finish all this work in a day?"
Theo cursed to himself. He had been assigned to finish a mountain load of work by the end of the day. He chugged down the black coffee and started to work away. Hours passed in an instant and it was time for lunch but Theo couldn't afford to go eat right now. He had to finish all the work by the end of the day, otherwise he would be fired. He kept drinking black coffee to energise himself to keep working.
The deadline to finish his work was in 30 minutes and Theo had managed to finish most of the work. He was now working away on the last thing he had to finish, which was a detailed analysis of the company's ongoing campaigns. After 20 minutes of nonstop typing , he was finally done. He leaned back on his chair and stretched his arms as he finished his 24th cup of coffee of the day.
He got up smiling to himself, glad that he managed to finish all the work unaware of the fact that this was going to be his last day on Earth. His vision began to blur as he fell to the ground.
"What the hell? Why can't I see? Why can't I move?"
Theo tried to speak but his voice was gone and his vision began to blacken yet Theo just laid there unable to do anything. Was this the end? He thought. He felt guilty that he had lived all his live only to work himself to death. He never got to experience the joys of the world and now he was dying a pitiful death.
"I don't want to die like this. I didn't even get to travel the world. What was the point of working like a dog my whole life if I'm going to die like this." Theo thought to himself regretfully as his consciousness began to fade away.
"If I had another chance, I would live my life to the fullest with no regrets. If only I had another chance..." Theo's life flashed before his eyes and his soul left his body. Theo Thatcher died in his office due to too much work.
