The morning light spilled through the curtains, soft and golden, warming the edge of the bed where I had just woken up.
The air was silent, save for the chirping of distant birds and the faint sound of maids moving about the halls.

One was a string of white pearls. The other was a glistening silver diamond necklace that reminded me of someone.
Both lovely. Both saying something different.
