Outside the gates of the mansion, a silver and black carriage was parked with someone waiting for me inside.
"Good morning, my lady."
He smiled, then got down to help me into the carriage.
"Hello, Nathan." I smiled upon seeing him, even though we had met just a few hours ago.
"Hope you got enough sleep. Today will be a busy day."
"I did not." He replied as we settled down in the carriage and he signalled the coachman to start the ride. "How could I sleep easily after leaving the love of my life?"
I chuckled at his humour so early, then steered the conversation to our agenda today.
"We'll go to the orphanage today. The children have an art presentation."
"So our first official appearance together will be at such a lovely event, designed to rain good public opinion?"
"Exactly." I nodded.
Nathan immediately grasped my intentions, and that was one of the many things I admired about him.
