Chapter 13 - CH 13

"Your friend will be fine. Your little escape attempt failed, so I suggest you cooperate, or I might shoot you myself," he hissed, giving his best glare at the kid. To Percy's credit, he didn't flinch or back down; he just glared right back.

"If you hurt him, I will make your life a living hell," Percy hissed. The Avengers' eyes widened slightly at his tone, the fun and sarcastic kid was gone. Now, in his place, stood a battle-hardened soldier, his eyes flashing dangerously, his voice cold. Even Fury took a step back. A shiver ran down Tony's spine. His eyes were like a raging sea. Waves were crashing with unrelenting anger. It was a sternness that Tony had yet to previously see in someone's gaze. It almost reminded him of the look Thor got when the god was angry.

Percy's body jerked at the sudden pinch of a needle going into his neck, his eyes rolled up in his head, and his body flopped forward. The guards prevented him from hitting the floor. Everyone was silent, just staring wide-eyed at the now unconscious teen.

"What just happened?" Scott asked, breaking the silence. He was again ignored.

"Take him to interrogation room three and make sure he is secure," Fury ordered, pointing at Percy. The two agents turned and started dragging Percy to do as ordered. Fury turned to some other agents still in the hallway. "Damage report." He snapped. The agents jumped.

"Sir, the water has been shut off due to the explosion, and there is a hole in the haul." He pointed to said hole "other than that, the Helicarrier sustained no damage."

"Casualties?" Steve asked, dreading the answer.

"No casualties." That surprised everyone. No one was killed? "We are still getting reports of the injured, but so far it is nothing serious, just a few bruises and a couple of concussions. Dr. Banner is already helping in Med Bay."

"Get this ship to base omega and tell Dr. Banner to focus his efforts on our intruder. I want a name. Also, do a general call to see if anyone is missing; that kid got his uniform from somewhere." The other agents ran off to do as they were told. "And will someone tell me how that kid got on this boat in the first place!" he shouted after the retreating agents.

Time skip

"Dr. Banner what did you find out?" Fury asked. They were back in the conference room, two-screens took up one side of the room. One side showed Percy strapped into a chair in the interrogation room, his head resting on his chest, and on the other one, the mysterious blond teen was strapped to a hospital bed, stripped out of the SHIELD uniforms and in the same gray outfit Percy wore.

"Well this kid doesn't have any records I didn't find anything with fingerprints or-"

"And I didn't get anything on facial recognition, the kids a ghost," Tony said as he flipped through his tablet, not caring that he had cut off Bruce who just huffed in annoyance.

"His DNA is similar to Perseus with some mutation, and he has similar scars. Not as many as Perseus but still a lot, he also has a similar tattoo." Bruce swiped the screen and a new display appeared, showing both Percy's and the blond teen's forearms. Percy's tattoo had a trident followed by the letters SPQR all in black and eight lines expanding down the length of his forearm. The Blond's had the same letters, SPQR, but with an eagle over the letters, and nine lines. Both marks looked to have been burned into the skin.

"Some kind of brand?" Sam asked, surprised that he didn't notice the tattoos earlier. Tony and Bruce just shrugged.

"So, they both belong to the same organization," Nat stated.

"But they are just kids, not even full adults." Steve protested, not liking the idea that there was an organization out there using kids training them to be soldiers.

"Kids yes but they seem to have a lot of training, like they have been training to fight their whole lives," Bucky said, not liking the idea of someone turning kids into weapons as Hydra did to him. The room fell into uncomfortable silence, everyone's eyes glued to the screens of the sleeping teens and the tattoos.

"I want you to move the blond teen to the same interrogation room as Mr. Jackson" Fury ordered after a few minutes of silence.

"Sir?" Hill asked not sure if she heard the order correctly.

"You heard me. Based on the last time Jackson was sedated, I will assume that it will be wearing off soon, so that goes for his partner…" he didn't need to explain the rest of his plan. Hill nodded and left to carry out the order.

"What are you thinking, director?" Clint asked.

"I don't think putting those two in the same room is a good idea." Steve said.

"They could try to escape again." Bucky added. agreeing with Steve.

"I think it would be better that they see each other when they wake up, if Mr. Jackson's reaction earlier was any indication." The group nodded recalling the scary look in the kid's eyes, and thinking about how hard he would fight to protect his friend.

Jason

He groaned and tried to move, only realizing he couldn't; his head snapped up. He was now fully awake and alert.

"What happened, how long was I-" he said quickly, trying to take in his surroundings.

"A couple of hours I'm guessing. I was knocked out to, woke up a minute ago," Percy sighed. Jason's mind cleared. He looked down to see that he had chains around his chest. He couldn't see his feet or hands but he could feel that they were both restrained as well he looked at Percy seeing he was in a similar situation; his hands were cuffed behind the chair and his ankles were cuffed to the legs of the chair "you good bro?" Percy asked, now looking at him in concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just have a slight headache." Percy snorted and nodded.

"Yeah, I have been wanting to rub my neck since I woke up but…" he tried to move as if he needed to point out why he couldn't touch his neck.

"Where are we?" Jason asked, looking around the room and noticing there wasn't much. Just one camera in the corner in front of them, a table with one other chair and a mirror on the wall.

"I don't know, but we are still in the air." Percy answered. They were silent for a couple of seconds before Percy spoke again. "Sorry," he said softly.

"What for?" Jason asked.

"Sorry I got you into this," Percy sighed, putting his head against the back of the chair. His eyes were filled with pain and sadness.

"Dude, you're good. I came to rescue you and got caught myself." Percy looked back at him. His eyes seemed a little cloudy as he studied Jason's face, then he blinked, the pain gone.

"Yeah, what were you thinking coming after me?" Percy asked, sending a halfhearted glare Jason's way.
